We have just returned from a week at North Haynes Farm, this was our 4th visit, but 1st since COVID. Cheryl , Roger and the team have done an amazing job in making the farm covid friendly. There was already a big focus on clean hands before covid (clean hand stickers always went down well with my son, especially when your design is printed!) but there are now plenty of signs reminding you to socially distance & an abundance of hand sanitisers around. You are allocated a team on arrival, and a print out in your cottage shows your group feeding and activity times for the day. All cottages are cleaned to such a high standard, and are ‘fogged’ making you feel even more safe.
I was also made to feel very special on my birthday, with everyone singing to me, and I would highly recommend ordering a cake from Cheryl, it was delicious.
I am already counting down the days until our stay for Christmas week!

Thanks Jen, we are so thrilled you had such a great week and felt safe (and special!)...birthdays are not just for the children! We will pass on your comments to the team who will be please to receive them (we are missing the visitor books!) Glad the stickers were popular too! Very much looking forward to seeing you all at Christmas for more farm fun.x

We spent a really lovely week at North Hayne Farm cottages at the beginning of August. It was our first time here and from the moment we arrived Cheryl and Roger were so welcoming. The accommodation was well designed, well equipped and immaculate. We had our own barbecue and hot tub and there is plenty of outside space for children to run about as well as some play equipment.

One of the many highlights for us was the daily morning and evening feeding schedule. Each day my boys grew more confident feeding the animals. In addition, there were some very enjoyable donkey rides and extra animal activities organised during the week for the children, such as goat grooming. All of these activities were arranged in a highly organised, socially distanced, safe and calm way.

The farm has incorporated all the necessary Covid 19 safety measures so there are plenty of hand sanitizers around the farm, the feeding schedule is organised really well to allow social distancing and the accommodation was really clean. The owners even left hand sanitiser and masks in our cottage for trips out and about. It felt very safe.

One of the aspects of our stay that I was extremely grateful for was the fact the farm is autism friendly. Before arriving we were sent a social story about the animal feeding routine. The staff were genuinely very inclusive and I think this really helped put my eldest son at ease. I ordered an extremely delicious cake from Cheryl for his birthday which we all enjoyed and it was so lovely when everyone sang Happy Birthday at feeding time! It made his day! Both my boys tried out lots of new things at the farm and as a family it has given us lots of happy holiday memories!

During our stay we enjoyed trips out to Combe Martin and Woolacombe beaches and visited Lynmouth and Lynton. As National Trust members, we also went to nearby Arlington Court, Heddon Valley (the walk from Hunter’s Inn to Heddon Mouth was lovely) and walked around Baggy Point parking in the nearby NT car park. Other highlights included visiting the market in nearby South Molton, where you can buy locally produced goods, food and drink. We loved the fishing village of Appledore and exploring the beautiful gardens and beach walk at Hartland Abbey and Gardens. My children also enjoyed going to Woody Bay station for the mile long train ride of the first phase of the Lynton and Barnstaple railway.

Thank you Cheryl, Roger and everyone working at North Hayne farm for making our stay so enjoyable!

Wow!, thank you so much for the feedback and for taking the time to leave such an informative review which we are sure will be very helpful to many other families considering a stay . We are just delighted that you all had such a good time and made such precious family memories, we do love birthdays here..the animals always enjoy being a part of any singing!! We are particularly pleased that in addition to feeling safe you managed so many wonderful days out around the area. We are fortunate to have to many wonderful family friendly places and venues who have managed to re-open so it is great that you were able to support them. Thank you once more, we would love to see you again and hope that might be possible in the future.

We had a lovely week at North Hayne Farm Cottages with 4 generations of family in 2 cottages. Our children (2 & 3) were amazed with the farm and feeding all the animals twice a day, plus all of the other little touches like the sand pit, ride-on tractors, toys, etc. Really is the ideal place to take young children. Ours are thankfully social and also loved playing with all of the other kids in other cottages.
The cottages are well appointed and well looked after, the hot tubs are another level. The hosts were extremely welcome and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We try and take as many trips/holidays as possible each year and part of the fun is going to new places, however this is definitely somewhere that we will visit again.

As a Covid note, the hosts are extremely aware of their obligations and so cleanliness and access to sanitizer were handled very well without being overbearing. We felt absolutely safe during the whole visit.

Thank you so much for your review. We are absolutely delighted you had such a good time and it is always so lovely when our families return so we very much look forward to that. Thank you too for commenting on feeling safe during your stay. We are working hard to ensure our families feel reassured whilst still having fun and this is something we will also feed back to our team who help us to create this balance. It was lovely to meet the family and of course the children (who became most competent farmers!) and we are also very pleased that you were able to enjoy the local area and some amazing September weather. See you all again very soon we hope.

Just had a wonderful week at this family run farm. This was our first stay here & it comes highly recommended. We were made to feel so welcome by The owners & everyone else involved. The morning & evening animal feeding was anticipated with such excitement by our grandchildren & the whole process was so well organised. Cars were generally parked in a separate car park, it was therefore very safe for the children to play outside in the Wendy house & sandpit. They really enjoyed the toy tractors & play equipment too. The cottages were clean & well equipped & we all spent a lovely time relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. Photos & certificates on the last day for the children were an added bonus. They gained in confidence throughout the week, as they fed & petted the goats, rabbits & sheep & also learnt a lot about them. The Stick man & Bear hunt was also a lot of fun.
This farm offers a base from which to have days out on the North Devon coast but in itself offers such added value, by helping to make such unique & special memories.

Wow! thank you so much. We are so very pleased to read your review (we are missing our visitor books right now!!) and it is lovely to hear how much everyone enjoyed their stay and made such special memories. The separate car parking area works well with families and does provide a much safer space for everyone to enjoy as you mentioned and we are very happy that you had such a relaxing time, the hot tubs do help with this we agree. It was lovely to see the children develop their confidence over the week and enjoy the outdoor challenges! We add to these each year so that there is always a new one to try out! We hope it was the first of many stays to come and will look forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank you again.

Thanks to the team at North Haynes. This was our second stay and already planning our third! The cottage (we stayed in Peter Rabbit) was absolutely spotless and really impressed with all the covid measures in place both in the cottage and the farm. A special thanks to Emily, I had an amazing massage and my daughter enjoyed a manicure at the well appointed treatment room. We had lots of fun feeding the animals and the hot tub was great.

We had 2 cottages next to each other, both of which were immaculately furnished and cleaned. We arrived to a lovely cream tea with large scones, clotted cream and jam and a carton of juice. My daughter had ordered an online shop which was delivered easily. My grandchildren aged 2,3 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals twice a day and the highlight was the donkey ride. We were giving time slots for the feeding which enabled us to socially distance from other families which worked very well. There were plenty of toy tractors and more in the courtyard for the children to play with. Our cottages looked over a small childrens park and a beautiful hilly garden with plenty of space for them to run around. This was surrounded by grazing sheep. The hot tubs were amazing especially at night with the moon shining, stars twinkling and birds and wildlife around. The owners and staff are so obviously passionate about what they do and have an abundance of enthusiasm and patience. Would love to go back.

We stayed for 4 nights with our 3 year old and 5month old. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our first holiday as a family of 4! The accommodation was warm and very clean and it was lovely that it was all set up ready with all the things for kids you could need, toddler step, bed rail etc. Cheryl and farmer roger we so friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much for them (even stick mans goggly eyes at my daughters request!) It was lovely that they even managed to remember all the children’s names! The highlight was feeding the animals every day and the goat grooming! It was so well organised and very covid friendly and all of the staff were so welcoming and warm even in the pouring rain! We also loved the stick man trail and bear hunt too, such lovely touches. The hot tub under the stars after the kids were down meant we got some relax time too. All in all the perfect holiday I can’t recommend it
enough, such happy memories! Thank you so much we will definitely be back again!

Thanks so much for such lovely feedback. It was great to see you and we are so pleased it was such a positive 1st family holiday experience for you all as a family of four. We are always so thrilled that the very popular Stickman trail is enjoyed so much (even in the rain!!) and we hope the pipe cleaner and googly eyes made all the difference to your daughters 'creation' The hot tubs are perfect for the Autumn evenings and its great that you got the chance to relax yourselves (quite an achievement with under 5's!) We very much look forward to seeing you all again soon. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.

We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at North Hayne Farm Cottages. We booked Katie’s Corner for 5 nights, which was comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped with everything we needed and more for our daughter (baby gates, wooden cot, cutlery etc) and it also had a beautiful view overlooking the duck pond. The delicious cream tea was very welcomed on our arrival and we also enjoyed using the private hot tub.

Roger and Cheryl have truly thought of absolutely everything. We thoroughly enjoyed going down to the barn to feed the animals both morning and evening every day and watched our daughters confidence grow over the time we spent there. She also enjoyed helping Farmer Roger to lead ‘Costello’ the donkey and animal handling activities with the rabbits, guinea pigs and goats. The playbarn and outdoor equipment including swings and slide are also fantastic!

North Hayne Farm Cottages is perfectly set with access to local amenities and many different attractions. During our time spent in Devon we visited Buckfastleigh for the Steam Railway and Otters & Butterfly Farm, Ilfracombe Harbour and also Pennywell Farm.

We really can’t recommend it here enough and will definitely be back! Thank you so much Roger, Cheryl, Emily & Katy for making our stay so special.

Thank you Sarah, for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are so delighted to read your comments and we will be sure to pass them on to all the team involved. Holidays with very young ones are something we very much enjoy being a part of. To see the confidence develop in small toddlers over just a few days is always wonderful and we are so pleased that your daughter got so 'involved', she certainly seemed very at home on the farm with all the animals! We are also glad you found both the amenities and the location really added to your stay. We are very fortunate to be extremely accessible to many great places to visit should you ever wish to venture off the farm! Thank you once again. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again very soon.

This was the most wonderful holiday we could have wished for. I had been looking for a farm holiday for a while for our three and two year olds and this was perfect. Roger and Cheryl clearly take a lot of pride in providing a very fun and relaxing experience. Also in providing excellent animal care for the farm animals and very clean, immaculate, accommodation. They paid a lot of attention to detail and really looked after us. Our boys got so excited each day about feeding the animals, it was such an essential part of their day, but also loved the other little games Roger and Cheryl had left around the yard. Thanks also to Emily for the work she did with our boys, in helping them become more confident with the farm animals. The hot tub was an unexpected extra which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed after hours and allowed us to unwind. It was the perfect holiday, especially for toddlers, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you to you all.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay. A review to treasure indeed with no more families allowed to stay with us in November! It was so good to know that you all had such a good time and its always great to see the children develop their confidence with the animals, even after just a few days. Emily loves being down at the barns and interacting with our families so we will make sure she gets this feedback. We are tremendously proud of our team and our farm holidays and we really hope to see you back again as soon as we are able. Thank you again.

An amazing and very special place. Words can not do this place justice. We have found friends and made memories for life. The owners, Cheryl and Roger always go the extra mile but Christmas is just so magical here. The whole farm is decorated, and the nativity with mulled wine and mince pies adds that extra something. The cottages are fully stocked, including the kitchen. They are perfect for children of all ages with stair gates, plastic plates, booster seats, bed guards etc available if needed. The children really enjoyed hanging the stockings up for the animals and opening the presents on Christmas Day. Farmer Christmas even paid us a visit on Christmas Eve too. So much to do here… reindeer food making, nativity plays, mince pies and clotted cream teas on arrival, playing in Reg’s shed and the play areas/equipment, making dens , hot tubs and not to mention the animals and donkey rides! Emily deserves an extra special mention, her massages and beauty treatments are just amazing. Truly magical place for adults and children a like.

This is a wonderful review to receive, thank you very much. We are so happy that you all feel at 'home' at the farm and found your first Christmas here 'magical' and worth the wait. Making it a special time for families is part of the fun and we enjoy the activities as much as our families I'm sure! -particularly the un-rehearsed nativity. A special mention must go to our team who make this all possible and to our wonderful Farmer Christmas who turns up on his quad bike to check on his 'farmers' year after year even in pandemics!! We will be sure to pass on your comments to everyone involved and thank you again for taking the time to provide your comments. We will look forward to seeing you for New Year in 2022-no pressure ;) Happy New Year.
