We had an excellent lunch for our staff last week. I was disappointed when they told us the day before that it would only be the Bar menu, but Mark and his chef made a great effort and put on some dishes from their new menu. Delicious! Thank you for your hospitality.

This is a small 'boutique' hotel - with a great future. In six months, under new ownership, it has changed into the warm and welcoming heart of this charming small market town. It has a perfect location. The downstairs space lends itself to being a hub: comfy chairs and sofas, a roaring log fire, excellent coffee and a great restaurant....

Thank you so much for our recent stay with you - we were here as a family, and Mark went to great lengths to accommodate us for a surprise late supper even though the restaurant was fully booked. Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, really good value for money - we wish you all the best.

To celebrate my partners Birthday we decided to have a meal at The George Hotel. As soon as we arrived, we were met by the waitress and was made to feel very welcome. After a couple of glasses of wine we were shown to our table and placed our order. Our food arrived very promptly and it was of a...

The overall ambience and atmosphere of the hotel makes for a special homely feeling with the open fire place roaring topping it off. Mark is the new owner and you...

Although only staying one night I felt valued at check in. Breakfast was very nice but I would say if you offer breakfast starting at 0730 serving it at 0751 isn't helpful but I accept it's a difficult balance to freshly cook food. Clean tidy room and an overall very pleasant stay

We had a Christmas lunch at the George and I have to say it was a mediocre experience. The starter was quite pleasant but with no imagination but the main was supposed to be a turkey meal, very over cooked, like a piece of leather, 4 very small roast potatoes and the vegetables were served on a cold plate! If...

I booked a table for Wednesday 30th November as we had to travel to The Midlands and back on that day and thought we would treat ourselves to a nice meal. Our table turned out to be in the bar. It was about 18 inches from the table next door, and a party of 15 who were having drinks before...

We have just enjoyed an excellent meal with friends. A very professional service, the food was served promptly and the waitress couldn't do enough. Mark the owner was very welcoming, a lovely atmosphere and the restaurant was lovely and warm we will definitely be going there again.
