We stayed two nights on a room only bass. A large Tesco and a McDonalds on the roundabout offer alternatives to the very expensive breakfast.
The hotel room was warm and clean with all the usual kettle, coffee etc plus extras like iron and ironing board.
A slight niggle was that the toilet flush in room 13 was somewhat erratic and needed effort and patience. in order to operate properly.
Large car park.
Dogs accepted at £19 a night.

Would appily return. i.a few yards to the

We were a family party of 10 and a small dog ranging in ages from 86 to 3yrs.

We have all been socially distancing from the beginning of lockdown in March but needed to have a break to all be together and have some sea air.

From the very first phone call we were reassured that nothing was to much trouble by the very friendly, helpful staff.

On arrival Crystal was very professional and Covid safe. All 4 rooms were together and they even put a dog bowl, towel and dog treats for our pup.

Our nans room had a disabled access shower which was brilliant for her.

Having a very vulnerable 86 year old with us we wasn't keen on eating at the hotel restaurant although it was very safe as all staff had masks and gloves on. This is where Crystal said room service breakfast wouldn't be any trouble.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and all cleaners were also wearing masks.

All staff would give you far more than your 2 metres distance and completely step out of your way if you were walking towards them.

We felt totally safe for our 4 days at the the hotel and our bespoke made to order breakfast was delivered to each room individually piping hot, completely what we ordered and delicious 😋

Plenty of areas for dog walking.

Thank you Best Western Tiverton Hotel for making our stay a pleasure.

We booked the romantic package to include dinner bed and breakfast including a bottle of Prosecco. It was for a valentines treat. On arrival the hotel is not much to look at sitting on the edge of an industrial estate. We did not know what to expect but it was clean and spacious with disabled facilities. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the evening meal was lovely and if you did not want to eat in the restaurant you could have from the bar menu in the bar. Breakfast was also very good with a good selection and it was very clean everywhere we noticed even in the toilets which is always a good sign. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we will definitely be returning. Definitely recommend.

Room was a good size, comfortable and actually would be suitable for a family of five (so few hotels offer this option, would help to keep costs down for families). It was lovely and peaceful. Easy check in and check out but rooms and especially the bathroom needs updating, shower pressure too low, hot tap incredibly noisy. Breakfast quality poor and particular staff member rude and unhelpful when serving breakfast, dinner menu was very limiting.

1st time experience of a Best Western.
When booking in we were told that we owed 40pence to the cost even though I booked the rooms through their own website, this wasn't an issue but when we went to our rooms neither bed had a duvet cover. The duvets that were on the bed also had some small stains on so obviously we didn't really want to sleep under them. The receptionist was apologetic and explained that they never had a delivery of clean bedding. All that she could find were some ill fitting sheets which we had to put the duvet on top as we would have been cold and these were Superior rooms.
In the restaurant later on my wife had a bottle of cider which she started drinking but then noticed that it was 2 months out of date. The staff were once again apologetic, We said it was okay as we are not the sort of people to make a fuss.
I never make a fuss as I like to see how a company or service react to certain situations, for me this experience was underwhelming concerning the issues and I probably won't use Best Western again.

Dear derrend2015, Thanks for taking the trouble to post a review on your stay, the feedback is very useful to the hotel in enabling us to keep improving and to recognise when we get things wrong. My apologies for the niggles during your stay, we were let down badly by our linen company which meant we were not able to present the rooms as well as we would have liked and for the out of date item. I hope you brought it to our attention, we would have happily changed the item. I hope I can encourage you to give us another try, I would be delighted to meet you and to ensure you had a comfortable and relaxing stay. regards Rhys Roberts

A very comfortable and pleasant room with comfortable beds and fully accessible bathroom with posh easy to use shower. I especially liked the fact that the room was quiet and we heard no sound from the corridor or adjacent rooms.
The staff are friendly and helpful and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

From booking online to check out this hotel has continued to disappoint. The online booking search for one adult and one child allowed us to book a superior room which was not suitable for our stay. I took the time to speak to reception prior to confirming my online booking, but nothing was communicated about the room type or lack of facilities available for our stay. At check in the reception team were able to provide us with a standard room suitable for one adult and one child.

The room was basic, the TV did not work, the bed lining was clean but torn, the bathroom was acceptable but the extract fan was caked in dust and the bath panel caked in body fat. Due to staff shortages the hotel offered no housekeeping on stays under 4 nights. The breakfast was ok and the bar over priced.

Disappointing stay but staff were pleasant enough.

We stayed here on a coach holiday and we thought that the hotel wasn't up to our holiday company's usual standard. Our room was fine once I had removed the chocolate bar and biscuit wrappers from the floor at the side of my bedside cabinet which had a thick layer of dust on the bottom shelf. We had to service our own rooms but a supply of milk, tea and coffee arrived on our second morning and the rubbish bins were emptied. The TV system was down and had been for 3 days before we arrived so my husband was very disappointed at not being able to watch the England ladies football semi final. We asked at reception when it would come back on but they didn't know as "it was out of our hands". It was finally fixed by our last night but nobody thought to tell us. Our holiday company's brochure said that porterage was now included at all their hotels but nobody told this one as we had to take our own cases to and from our rooms. Luckily we had one on the ground floor as there is no lift. We found all the staff to be lovely especially those in the short staffed restaurant. We were fed what I call coach trip fare with not much choice of main course. I thought the starters were fine and well presented. One night just about everyone in our party chose chicken chasseur and they ran out before everybody had got their meals!! On our last night they ran out of desserts and said they'd find us some ice cream. The breakfasts were fine provided you liked the same thing every morning. I like scrambled eggs but my husband prefers fried so I asked if I could order him a fried egg for the next morning but, apparently, they didn't do fried eggs.

This review is based entirely on our recent visit to the lounge/restaurant area. We called in for morning coffee and a light snack only. The Best Western is a short distance from the Tiverton town centre and has a large car park where you can leave your car for free parking provided that you book it in at reception. The lounge was bliss for us two elderly coffee and cake lovers. Deep couches and comfortable chairs plus on this day peace and quiet - not a snuffling dog or recalcitrant child to be seen or heard. The bar staff were extremely welcoming and helpful , the coffee superb and the complimentary biscuits so generous that we did not need to buy a cake. We have been to most of the Tiverton, crowded, noisy, lap-top table hogging coffee stops and I know what I prefer.

I rarely write negative reviews, and it’s very unusual for me to criticise staff but I have to do both this time. In our two night stay we experienced very poor customer service.

Because we were badly delayed, we phoned the hotel to say we would arrive late. We were told it would be no problem and the night staff would check us in. Sure enough, when we arrived at 10:30pm the man on reception was expecting us, took our money and gave us a key card. Looking at us - a woman in a wheelchair and a man with a suitcase and a bag - he said “unfortunately there’s a lot of doors” but did not offer to help.

The ‘superior double room’ was spacious and clean but one bedside light did not work. It was impossible to open the windows.

We did not eat at the hotel and did not return until about 10pm the next night. We were surprised to find that our key card did not work. Also the sign that we had left on the door asking for the room to be serviced was still there. I went to reception leaving my wife outside the room because she did not want to negotiate lots of doors. The receptionist (a different man) said they didn’t clean the rooms every day ‘because of COVID rules’ and gave me a new key card. He did not offer any apology but just said ‘no problem’.

When I got back to our room I realised we would want some teabags and milk in the morning so I went all the way back to reception. There were now four staff and it looked like they were preparing to go home. I asked for teabags and milk and said to the woman who appeared to be more senior that I was surprised that our room had not been serviced. She said it was ‘because of COVID rules’ in a way that implied I should have known this.

We will not stay at this hotel again, even though we visit Tiverton from time to time. The staff we met, apart from a young woman called Carol, seemed to have a very poor understanding of customer service. You are meant to be helpful and make customers feel welcome, and if a customer has a problem you apologise and put it right.

As regards not servicing the rooms because of COVID rules, this might have been introduced at the height of the pandemic but I can’t help thinking that the management may be continuing with it to reduce cleaning costs. We have since stayed in two other hotels that do not operate a ‘no room servicing’ policy.

Dear Reluctant_Optimist, Thank you for taking the trouble to post a review on your recent stay and I respond to all personally as I believe they are a very useful tool to help us get things right for our guests and obviously I'm disappointed that we didn't on this occasion and please accept our sincere apologies that we didn't Clearly we need to look again at our Covid messaging, despite us putting letters in rooms, messages on our website and notices around the hotel, we are not getting to everyone and the perception of a lack of service is getting through. Firstly, we are maintaining a number of Covid safety precautions to protect guests and staff alike and the precautions are based on industry advice and what the majority of hotels are currently doing. Whilst we have relaxed rules in our public areas to reflect government advice, we still do not come into guest rooms once occupied unless there are staying longer than 3 days however when requested we will always do so. Equally unlike pre pandemic, we do not take luggage to guest rooms for the same reason but again will do if requested and leave the luggage outside guest rooms. My apologies too for the window and light, I will get these checked today and if not working, will deal with this promptly but I cant help suggesting, a call to reception would have got the issue sorted. I'm sorry you feel you would not return, I hope you will give the hotel another opportunity and I'd be delighted to personally welcome you and demonstrate we can offer great service and standards as many of our regular guests confirm. Thank you for bringing the matter to my attention. Rhys Roberts
