Stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding locally. Gent on reception was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was very stuffy even with the windows open as much was allowed due to restrictors. The bathroom was extremely dated and could have been cleaner. The shower was a disaster very hard to regulate and went from freezing to boiling in seconds. Due to covid nobody entered our room to clean or make beds, if we wanted clean towels or more tea and coffee we had to leave a card on the door.
I would highly recommend going to C'n'R snack bar 2 mins down the road at Waterloo Cross for a takeaway breakfast, outstanding value and comes with cutlery and condiments, just what we needed to set us up for the day.

We spent two nights here after moving house, on the whole it was an enjoyable experience, the TL is homely, very clean and comfortable, the staff were mostly very helpful and friendly., advising us on places to eat etc. We arrived just after 3pm and had to wait a few minutes to be checked in as the Reception staff changed over at this point, the one member of staff had just logged out and we had to wait for the next one to check us in, he was checking fire alarms and unaware that we were waiting.
On arriving in our room we found the only tv channels working were 11 onwards, no BBC1,BBC2, ITV etc. On bringing this to the reception staff's attention he came to the room and rebooted it but was unable to solve the problem.not the end of the world just a shame we couldn't watch the sport or the Eurovision song contest.
The bed was very clean and comfortable and a powerful shower over the bath, the shower curtain had what looked like a couple of blood stains but it was good to have a non slip showermat in the bath.

Our 3 night stay this weekend was fine, as expected for a Travelodge.
Due to covid they weren't entering the rooms every day but reception were very good when we asked for more coffee/tea and replacement towels. The room seemed pretty clean, although I did notice a couple of hairs on the carpet.
There is a Costa and Burger King on site and a BP service station. Residents get a discount at The Waterloo Cross pub (10 mins walk down the road, no footpath), but they stopped serving food at 8pm which we weren't warned about!

I wouldn't waste your money.. We weren't expecting a lot considering travelodge is budget but come on! Simple things like dusting, making sure kettle works, changing stained bits of furniture and making sure free from critters that bite isn't too much to ask. My mum got bitten whilst in bed and has now had to seek medical attention, I also got bitten whilst in bed.. We had seperate rooms so this is clearly some sort of hotel wide problem. Dirty!

Don.t stay here. This travelodge is letting them down. I was told it was dut a refit but they put us in a Family room that had mould in the corner wall in the bedroom. There obviously have had a dod staying in the room which had pooed on the carpet. The animal then had walked in the poo leaving footprints on the carpet. The guest had picked up the poo and tried to throw it out the window but it had landed on the window ledge.. The wall lanps has thick dust on them and had not been cleaned for some time. A pet owner pays £20 to have the room deep cleaned after they leave. This had not been done. I asked for another room but was told there were none.

Unless you're on a diet don't pay over a fiver for the breakfast box, Corn Flakes, some milk, orange juice, and a couple of bars. (None of which are top brand names. No choice, no alternatives and certainly nowhere near worth the price. £2 at most

Firstly, if you are seeking luxury, whatever that may mean, and a great view from your window, then best to look elsewhere folk's!

However, the Travelodge, Tiverton was clean, comfortable and convenient, at least for me.

Tom, was especially kind and accommodating. Not only changing my room to a quiet end room when requested to do so, but also offering a free and gratis, Breakfast Bag for the following morning when his system failed, and wouldn't allow payment to be made.

Yes, these are but small things however, it's invariably the small, personal acts of kindness that we remember.

I did manage a (very!), small run that evening, mainly around the M5 roundabout, as is usual after a long day at the wheel. Strava attached. Tom did suggest I borrow a portable headlight as the lane to the side of the building was absolutely pitch black but, I decided on this occasion, I would call it a day after but 1.5km.

Overall, fit for purpose and ridiculously cheap. What more do you want when away on business?

Thanks to Fatalah as well.

It's the staff that makes this work.

Recommended.

We had a three night stay here over the weekend. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who made check in very easy. We were upstairs, and there did not seem to be a lift. This was not an issue for us, but would be for others. When we arrived at our room, it was clear that the room was very outdated. We turned on the bathroom light, to an extremely noisy and annoying extraction fan. There was also mould in the corners of the bath and on the shower curtain, as well as grime on the floor behind the door. We slept well, but were woken up at around 4am by people stomping down the corridor, and by the loud noise of the corridor door closing. When having a shower, things were difficult. One of us is 6 foot 2, and already has back problems. The shower height or angle can not be adjusted, and it is far too low down for anybody over 5 foot 6. This was extremely frustrating. The angle of the shower was also an issue. The temperature would go very hot all of a sudden, and because of the angle, there was no escaping the water. There were no plugs near the bed, only on the other side of the room, meaning a loud alarm so we would actually hear it. On our final night when we arrived back to our floor, there was an unpleasant smell (similar to cat urine), which made it’s way into our room whenever the door was opened. We would not stay here again.

On our way to another venue we booked a nights stay at this Travelodge handily adjacent to M5 and spent the day At Exmouth before booking in at around 4pm. The temperature outside was 34 degrees and knowing Travelodge rooms don’t usually have air con we were not looking forwards to the temp in the room. But a bit of foresight was used by the staff and our room had windows shut curtains drawn and the room was cool in comparison to outside. Also there was a desk fan provided and this helped us have a comfortable nights sleep.

I had prebooked to stay on two occasions in the same week, so this review is for the two different occasions and two different rooms.

Good points:
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms were a considerable size, and pleasant. The Travelodge was easy to find from the motorway with ample free parking there too. Booking the room was easy, and not at all expensive. The room was quiet, the room was warm, the bed fine. Enough towels to have a shower in the evening and again the next morning without using the same one twice.

Areas which could be improved:
Some decent, proper maintenance is needed (or refurbishment). The water pressure for the hot water was poor, in that every few seconds it fluctuated from being a good flow to much less. That's fine if you're simply washing your hands, but annoying if you're in the shower.
One of the bathrooms had black mold growing, and some of the panels were coming off the wall; in the second bathroom, the toilet was not fixed to the floor, and could be moved (I didn't try!).
The breakfast - wasn't worth the money - orange (which wasn't orange juice, but more like orange squash), cornflakes lacking flavour, 200ml of milk (which was fine), an oatmeal type of biscuit, and a pastry. I'd suggest don't bother to buy this - simply go next door to the coffee place and have decent coffee with a croissant or something similar. I had prebooked / paid for mine, otherwise after the first morning, I'd have not bothered again.
