My husband and I stayed here overnight and were immediately made to feel very welcome. Our room was really lovely and the breakfast the next morning was superb. Really hoping we can make a return trip.

The rooms are separate from the pub with their own outside space. Although it is on a main road (A35) we were not disturbed by noise from the road. The food served in the pub was generous and of excellent. Angela and her staff were very attentive. The weather for our weekend was mainly overcast with torrential rain on the...

Pre booked this for a trio around the southern counties, what an excellent find ! The rooms are external to the pub and in their own private garden area. The dining is very reasonably priced and the quality excellent. But the star of the show is the owner who is not only generous with her meals but with her time...

Stopped here for a quick lunch on a journey with my daughter, having been here several years ago with my husband and liked the place then. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and obligingly made a pot of tea for my daughter, which I had thought might present problems, even though it was lunchtime and we hadn't indicated that...

We did not stay here but as we were in Wilmington we stopped for afternoon tea. We sat in the sunshine and everything was fine so we decided to book for supper. What a mistake! The fish pie was utterly dreadful - no discernible fish and the sauce was a horrible grey colour, like mashed sardines but without any taste....

My first visit to this pub: good menu, with the chicken+veg soup of the day delicious and would do some people for a main course. Warm bread and just the right amount. I was rather picky for my main course, wanting chicken with plenty of veg, without potatoes. They got it right. Good coffee to finish, plenty of parking, some...

We stopped off here for a midday lunch on way back home from Dawlish and I have to say we were so pleased we choose this pub. Why, well I ordered the hunters chicken and have to say it was perfectly cooked and as for portions were very generous with plenty of chips too. My wife had the gammon steak...

Stopped off here on the way to Cornwall. What a great find, good portions of home cooked food, very reasonably priced and friendly service. We both had the veggie lasagne, food came quickly and was piping hot. Just what we needed to break the journey up.

We have had a saturday lunch here a while ago which was good so thought we would try the Sunday roast. The beef was chewy, two of us gave up. Potatoes and parsnips bland and not crisp. Other veggies nondescript. Maybe this was just a change of chef. The pub itself is lovely and we hope to come back in...
