Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are regular visitors to Woolacombe and our site of choice is Twitchen. We were quite disappointed this stay. We were unable to book a swim slot each day and due to the restrictions of when you can access the facilities on arrival day and leaving day you essentially get 2 less days of your holiday. There are not enough bar staff so very long queues for drinks and to order food. Although the quality of the food is ok if you are in the entertainment room it is served in single service take away boxes which really doesn’t match the price you pay. Overall we love woolacombe as a resort but not in a hurry to book Twitchen next time. We will explore other options

As a family of 10 we absolutely loved staying at Twitchen House holiday park. The accommodation was so spacious. It was all very clean when we arrived. Everything you would need was very close by and all the activities on the site were great! Will definitely be staying again!

Pillows were just 'air'reccommend to take your own. Accessible van wasn't great for a wheelchair user. All doors were so stiff even an able bodied person struggled to open and close. For an accessible van I would recommend putting cups plates etc lower as again wheelchair user couldn't reach them right at the top! WiFi is awful even to the degree of TV not working as no WiFi. Car parking that is designed for the accessible van is used by anyone so coming back for a day out and now being able to park close enough to get a wheelchair isn't great.

We went in a dog friendly caravan it was clean and warm with heating and 2 welcome packs for our 2 frenchies, which was a lovely touch . The only negative thing for us was the entertainment room was too small for the amount of people there. Staff were lovely. I would go back again .The dogs were allowed into the food bar, just not the entertainment room with loud music and flashing lights, which we were ok with.

As a family we have been coming here for years, We really hoped that things had gotten better since our last visit but it’s got worse! We are due to go home tomorrow but will be cutting our holiday short. Please ensure you bring spare shoes!!! The mud around our caravan is ridiculous and we have all ruined our shoes, the photos do not do it justice. It’s a slipping hazard too as it’s like it around all of the park. The food ordering app does not work as the WiFi is so bad. This causes everyone to go up to order but with only two tills this makes the process painful! If your lucky enough to get the app to work it’s irrelevant as they don’t check it as we had our food delivered to the table and ate it before having to que to remind them we ordered drinks. The club house is not big enough for the amount of people that stay on site, there were people all around standing waiting to fight for tables that became free, parents send their kids to steal any chairs they think are spare leaving 5 of us at one point with two chairs. The entertainment is absolutely diabolical! Honestly be a 1/5 is rating that alone, it was borderline painful which is a shame but it is so outdated! The swimming pool is dirty and the 1hr time slot which includes getting undressed is not enough especially when battling everyone else that has just come out! It breaks my heart to say that we probably won’t return here as this is our special place but it just was not enjoyable in the slightest !

We brought our campervan Easter weekend. The electric was intermittent on the electric hook up pitches. They apparently had a fault and were waiting for a electrician. We complained several times, their solution was to say 'come and collect duvets from reception to keep us warm'!! Now this is a nice gesture, however at 3am when we woke up freezing we didn't fancy the trek all the way to reception to collect the duvets in the rain! When we rang in the morning, we were invited to the bar area for hot tea or coffee. Thank you, however we also had a fridge full of food we were wanting to cook, same as the previous evening. The whole point of bringing our campervan? Couldn't get in to the swimming pool as fully booked. Could only get 1 child booked into the floating ball. Climbing wall not open. Ordered lunch in the bar in the end as electric off, beef nachos came out freezing cold, had to send back. Same as the portion of chips. They were quickly replaced, but not the point. Especially for the prices they changed. Entertainment okay. Highlights were Sunday morning, packing up and going home. Shame as have used this site many times. Staff are all very friendly and polite so not their fault. Better campsites in the area.

Twitchen is now our annual Easter habit so we must love the place a lot! We’ve stayed in quite a few different grades of caravans now over nearly 10 years I miss the old vans with the gas fires. We knew the weather wasn’t going to be the greatest this year but that didn’t stop us, we packed the wellies and raincoats and still had some amazing adventures! When I checked in I was sent up A field in search of our caravan in torrential rain ours was actually back down the hill facing the arcade - an excellent location close to everything but could watch the spring lambs playing in the fields behind! That trip back down the hill was eventful though as it resembled a running river on top of the grass and I nearly went a cropper and pulled my old shoulder out 🫣 never mind a cup of tea fixed me up and it was nice to get into our lovely warm caravan, the cleaners kindly left nice and cozy for our arrival. I have filled in the review form by email about false widow spiders and webs in this caravan (we had had a problem last year too with my son receiving a nasty bite so the cleaning does need to go a little bit deeper to shoo off these sharp toothed pests) I know it’s hard to contain this on a camp but getting rid of the webs and maybe some treatment might help. We didn’t do much evening entertainment this time as we were too knackered from our local explorations but it all sounded fun every time we popped through. We did try the chippy at easewell but unfortunately we were left bitterly disappointed to learn they use frozen chips 😳 so we will be sticking to the chippy down the beach in future unless this is changed. The pool booking system needs really deeper thought if you should forget to book 24 hours in advance because you’re too busy frolicking down the beach in the rain munching ice creams and the odd pasty, you miss out or you get stuck with the dawn/ dusk slot and it’s not great. Most places have done away with this since Covid, and tbh we looked in during the day when it was apparently fully booked to find there weren’t actually many people inside! It would be nice to just be able to decide to go for a swim and go like we used to! Those little niggles are minor though because to us these parks are our happy places to holiday in the uk, the staff are friendly, the parks are spotless, the facilities are top notch, they’re always changing and renewing caravans and facilities which shows they do care about their customers. We never want to leave and are always ready for our next trip there! It never gets old or boring! I bet we’re back in the summer hols!

Disappointed with our stay. Very muddy with no paths or matting to stop slips and trips. Bring wellies on bad weather or expect your footwear to be ruined. Prices expensive compared to other parks visited and food is of a quality that doesn't reflect the price. Lots of activities for kids but just 90 and 00's entertainment for cabaret this weekend which didn't keep the youngsters entertained. The background noise for Bingo was the worst I've heard and staff didn't really control the situation. Some employees were also downright rude when mentioning that the Wi-Fi was not working. Turns out it didn't work for most of the time which makes online ordering for drinks and food virtually useless meaning long waits due to only one or two working the bar at some points. Our first and only visit to this group of parks, go elsewhere, you'll be cleaner and better off!
