We had a wonderful spa day and high tea in Doyle’s restaurant. The facilities are as you’d expect: clean and luxurious with everything you need for a relaxing break. We had full body massages. I didn’t catch the name of the young lady but her massage was excellent. Special mention to Julian in Doyle’s who was most attentive with our high tea. We had a super spot by the window, perfect for spotting Lundy and watching the sea. If you want to feel pampered in a wonderful location, you can’t ask for better.
Just spent the most wonderful weekend here and everything has been faultless throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff - even brought us cream tea on the lawn because it was so warm & sunny for early March. The rooms have been well modernised & were really comfortable. Had dinner in the brassiere which was also excellent. Quite a lot of young staff who were fabulous and so polite. Please don’t change - you were all brilliant. The pool & spa facilities are also very good. Will definitely be back.
Large hotel in the middle of Woolacombe offering very comfortable accommodation. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to sample the spa or swimming pool, but nevertheless had a very pleasant stay. The food was pretty good and service excellent, with all the staff we encountered being extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely room as well
Fantastic hotel. Lots of thought has gone into the interior design of this hotel. The staff are friendly the food is excellent quality. The hotel facilities are top notch and it's location is great for walks along the SW Coastal Path and has direct access to the wonderful 3 mile sandy beach. Loved this hotel and plan to return.
We stayed here for two nights for a family wedding happening in the area. We stayed as a family of four, two adults and two children. We booked one a suite, with two bedrooms and a small living area. The room was large, well equipped and comfortable. It has been noted that there is no air conditioning in many of the rooms and this room was no different. However, there were two fans in the wardrobes that we could use if necessary. It was also a slightly odd room in so much that we were never quite sure which windows looked out on to communal areas and walkways, or whether they looked out on external vistas. We accommodated this slight quirk due to the age of the building - but the room was large and comfortable and we felt able to relax and enjoy. A nice touch was real coffee and a cafetière, along with a nice selection of tea, decaf coffee and hot chocolate. There was a fridge in the room, too. The beds were comfortable and we all enjoyed a good sleep. The bathrooms were well equipped too, with nice shampoo, conditioners and shower gels. The facilities in the hotel are excellent. Our kids particularly enjoyed the indoor pool (and extra points to the hotel for allowing children to use the indoor pool between 9am and 6pm - finally, a hotel with a spa that accommodates families!). Breakfast was nice, if a little pricey for a family of four, but the staff were accommodating to our children's slightly fussy diets and couldn't have been more helpful The food and drink was tasty and well cooked. I would have preferred fresh orange juice rather than concentrate for the money, but this is a minor gripe. The hotel was immaculate throughout. The bistro and bar was comfortable, with excellent staff and a good quality and selection of food and drink available. The biggest impression that this hotel left on us though, was the staff. Everyone we encountered, from check-in to check-out was exceptional. They simply couldn't have done more for us. They were welcoming and engaging with our children, which makes a huge difference. It was so impressive, we have immediately booked to return again for a longer stay at the end of July. The only slight gripe was breakfast on the second day. The staff team were clearly suffering with a busy sitting. We were served our breakfasts at different times, which was a little awkward and a couple of drinks orders were not delivered. I left these comments at reception on departure and apologies were offered. This is an exceptional hotel, with exceptional facilities and a warm welcome. It's very family friendly and should be very much commended for it. We hope our next visit matches our impression from this visit. An absolute gem of a hotel. Our children are very much a part of our family and their experience is very important to us. The hotel treated them as valuable guests too and that makes all the difference in the world. Our 8 and 14 year olds are already talking about using the Lido when we come back! Thank you for a great stay. Very much recommended.…
I’ve have stayed at the WBH hotel for many years but this last trip was the best ever. From the moment we arrived until the second we left, every single member of the staff team was committed, professional and catered to our every need with such care. It really did make our trip. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels but this experience has been unbeatable. I honestly could not fault one part of our 4 day stay. From the room to the hotel surroundings and food…everything was of such high quality. Thank you so much to the staff for making this trip so special and memorable. I already can’t wait to return.
From the moment we pulled up in the car park we were welcomed and looked after like royalty. Special mention to Jonothan in the restaurant and bar for his exemplary customer service. I cannot think of anything negative to pick on which is very hard for me. Maybe the breakfast is a tad overpriced but besides that the whole visit is worth every penny.
My Husband and I booked to stay two nights in this beautiful hotel. We had a double room with balcony and sea view. Our room was superb with stunning views overlooking the lawn, beach and sea. Weather was superb so photographed stunning sun sets. Our room was immaculately clean, all staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Food was superb. We also loved using the sauna, jacuzzi and heated swimming pool. We will certainly return and thank you to everyone who helped to make our stay so memorable and enjoyable.
I booked a Spa afternoon for my wifes 60th birthday and what a superb Spa this is. Absolutely spotless, great facilities and just a brilliant afternoon. A special mention to Angela on reception from contact with the booking to the actual day Angela was so friendly and helpful and really couldn't do enough for us so a huge thank you for making our visit so special. We will definitely return as we enjoyed our day so much.
This is a beautiful hotel. Fantastic location, fabulous decor, wonderful room. The facilities are brilliant - the spa, the cinema, tennis courts. The food in the restaurant was great. Every single member of staff encountered was friendly, helpful and happy. Could not recommend more highly. The only slight negative was the massage I had - I booked and paid for 40 minutes but received 25 mins. It wasn’t the greatest massage either but I am very particular having trained in massage myself
