We called in for lunch after a long walk. The sign outside welcomed children, dogs and muddy boots. The latter applied to us. The conservatory area was packed, so we sat inside, unfortunately directly beneath a speaker playing 'neutral' music. No staff in sight, we rang the bell and a woman appeared to take our order. She didn't smile once,...

We had a great stay at the Ilchester Arms Hotel, that's my wife and her twin sister. We took advantage of a special offer, but saying that after staying here we will be back. The whole stay was just fantastic our family room was very good standard which we had as we took our dog with us. The breakfast (full...

Our room was small, but perfectly adequate for short stay, with free tea, coffee and water. Very clean and tidy, and despite being very cold outside, room was comfortably warm. Good food and local beer/cider.

We arrived at the weekend on a cold night for an overnight stay at the hotel. We were shown to Honeysuckle. One of the first things we thought was how cold the room was despite the radiator being on fully. We couldn't get warm. I noticed a stain in the middle of the carpet which looked unpleasant. The en-suite shower...

Because we had booked our table ahead we got 10% discount - not bad and a nice surprise! Would thoroughly recommend it, lots of fabulous walks in the area so you can combine the...

Beautiful setting - Excellent Service - Gorgeous Food and Doggy treats too. The Sunday Roast is pricey compared to others in the area but it's extra special so worth it for an occasional treat - in our case, a BirthdayWeek

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of Jan to celebrate my 40 birthday & took up their 3 night special break offer which was perfect. We had our Springer with us so had the bluebell room which is situated in the courtyard, no problems with that made it easy going in & out etc. We choose the...

Pleasant "Gastro" pub with lovely scenery outside. Service was OK - there was a lovely couple of waitresses (an older blonde lady and a younger lady with a long brown pony tail) who were most helpful - the best and nicest members of staff in the place during our visit! The room was pretty basic although noisy from the music...

Back at "The Ilchester" (one of our favourite places to stay in Dorset) for three nights in mid January. As always, Tom and the team were so welcoming and the food we had was as good as always. Amazing breakfasts and evening meals are always a real treat. We also had our first Dorset cream tea in ages on our...
