We visited yesterday with our two dogs and stayed for lunch, dinner, overnight and for breakfast. We couldn't have been made more welcome. It was a freezing cold day but we were kept warm by the fire in the cosy bar. There were a large selection of wines and beers on offer and the home cooked food was delicious. For...

Recently under new management,Tracey and Amie gave us and our two dogs a warm welcome. Good quality food from a sensibly composed menu. Excellent Palmers beer and fine cider. We also had the excitement of the local hunt and a lost hound.

Visited on Monday 2 January 2017 with my son and daughter-in-law for lunch. I just cannot praise too highly on all counts. The welcome lived up to everything said on the website – very genuine and caring throughout. We all agreed the food was excellent and the roast venison I had was cooked to perfection – I can truly say...

Thankyou so much for the amazing review. We are putting every effort into making this pub the destination place it deserves to be. We really enjoyed looking after you and your family for our Sunday lunch. The venison is a delight to present, locally produced and full of flavour. Thankyou Margaret Ralph. We hope to specialise more in Game and...

We spent three nights here over Christmas, just using the Inn for bed and breakfast as we were spending the days with our family in the next village. The owners have just taken over the Inn and look like making a real success of it. They gave us a warm welcome and were around all the time to answer any...

Thankyou so much for the great review. We are very sorry about the internet problem, we have added a booster to the rooms now and the internet is now flowing at high speed throughout the Pub and Room areas. We hope to be able to see you again soon. Happy 2017.

What a gem of a place! Under new ownership in the past few months and I'd thoroughly recommend staying here. The owners are very friendly and accommodating and the food is delicious. Wonderful room with great views too. The village is beautiful - a wonderful place to stay.

We had dinner here on Friday night, a return visit after a couple of years. There was a new couple running the pub and it wasn't as busy as previous visits. However, we were not disappointed by the food. We both had the soufflé to start and it was a great choice - absolutely delicious. I followed by a special...

Hi, Just to let you know this couple had actually been at the pub for 20 months we have just taken over the "Shoes" from mid November and are slowly starting to make improvements to the tiredness. A new floor has been laid and we are decorating in January. We hope you will visit us soon and we can deliver...

Stumbled across this place as I left a little trek away, a little too last minute, and these guys had a cancellation, so booked myself in. I hadn't looked at any photos really, or even if they had a website, but I saw one photo on Google which didn't really do anything for the place... it is amazing!!! Stunning location,...

Wow is this place in the middle of nowhere! Not to be confused with The Three Horseshoes at Burton Bradstock (which is also good)! This Three Horseshoes is located in a tiny hamlet called Powerstock. We did not eat, but the food looked delicious. Nice beer and Pinot. Very nice Australian lady behind the bar. Sat Nav almost essential. Very,...

We visited here 5 years ago and were blown away with the food and friendly staff, in fact we loved it so much we came three times during our weeks holiday. Expecting more of the same we were so disappointed to find that it had changed hands and the place was not nearly as welcoming as previously. The staff are...

After a walk over Egardon Hill we sat in the sun eating good locally sourced food with a good pint of Palmers enjoying the view from the terrace. Not many better ways of spending an afternoon. Really good food and a pub well worth finding.
