I have been here several times over several years. It's a firm favourite when we are visiting Dorset. The food is excellent made from local produce and is always fresh and well prepared. I had the Caribean Chicken curry and my husband had the fish and chips. He said the fish was very very fresh. As always we had a...

This is a lovely rural pub well off the beaten track. We visited this pub twice as we were staying at a nearby holiday cottage. The first visit was for a lunchtime drink on a Sunday. We wanted to have a look at their skittle alley. Our grandchildren were fascinated by something so old fashioned so we arranged to come...

Expensive but not open until 6pm. Nice room but too small for furniture. Food ok but again expensive. This is an old country pub with a separate modern accommodation block. You have to leave the building to get to breakfast. It's not far but may not suit some. We went on a festival weekend which may explain the price but...

Some friends were staying at the campsite nearby and had chosen to eat here and I joined them. On arrival I saw the AA 5 star Inn sign. Inside I saw the Tripadvisor accolade. I thought I was in for something special. We decided to eat in the bar, and I looked at the menu. Not very much choice I...

Thank you for your comments, I would just like to say if the food was as bad as you say why had your friends eaten here for the past week without complaint ! and to point out that the sausages were not frozen or microwave ones but were a trio of hand made artisan award winning wild boar.venison and local...

My wife and I have just returned from an overnight stay for our 5th wedding anniversary, and had a fabulous time. Ray was a.fabulous host and helped with some surprises for my wife. We had dinner in the restaurant where the food was great, and all staff were incredibly friendly. Even though we had an early meal Ray kept the...

A proper old english country inn. We stopped here for a quick drink and ended up playing skittles in the long alley at the rear. Beautiful garden and a good selection of beers and great cider. Host very friendly and got service with a smile from him and the locals. Drop in, it will be well worth your while seeking...

this is not the truth, this person had had sufficient to drink when she arrived and had a fall out with her partner about having to walk the 3/4 mile from the campsite and insisted on getting a taxi to go back my son offered to do this , its only a short walk ,she consumed another bottle of wine...

We had a great stay in one of their luxury rooms with a lovely four poster bed. The food in the quaint pub was delicious. The owners are charming and helpful. It all has a great personal touch. The location is remote and countryfied. Great for relaxing walks but still near enough to get to Lyme Regis and Bridport quickly.

Had an amazing 2 night stay in one of their luxury rooms with an amazing (and huge!) 4 poster bed. It was a beautiful room, tastefully decorated and the bathroom was one I would love to have for myself! The staff were incredibly courteous and friendly, catering to whatever your request as best they can. Breakfast was a variety of...

My daughter took me here for Mother's Day. It is a really atmospheric olde worlde pub with very good food. Friendly welcome from the owners and nice log fire in the bar. Dog friendly. I felt the set menu was a bit over priced. Most of the food was very good, and they do some unusual Caribbean and Thai dishes....
