Firstly the location of this property could not be faulted. Located 5 minutes down a narrow lane off the A35 - yes it is narrow but this is Dorset! half way to Eype beach this perfectly formed chalet complex is both quiet but accessible to so many great walks and the beach. We stayed in Ammonite no3 which had a partial sea view. The accommodation was accessed by a texted code before we arrived and key lock up box entry so we didn't need to actually 'check in' - bedlinen was provided & we provided our own towels & kitchen linen which was fine. The chalet was clean and had everything we needed. Each chalet has a lovely fully enclosed back garden area to sit and star watch at night or dry our beach towels. Fresh eggs are available in a box outside reception (honesty box payment) and all of the staff that I spoke to several times on the phone and in person during our stay were friendly and helpful.
There is a footpath at the side of the site accessed in-between two of the chalets, which led down to the large and dog friendly (all year) beach one way, this avoids walking on most of the road, and took us 5 minutes. The other way up the footpath leads up to the New Inn pub where we enjoyed some really good meals and their spacious beer garden with great hospitality. There are lovely walks to be had directly from the site, across to West Bay and Seatown on the coastal path We would definitely recommend Golden Acres and I bet it's even more special out of season!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Golden Acre Bungalows, we stayed in the Marine Suite, which is a 2 bedroom bungalow, just the two of us. The garden area is lovely with seats, trees and flowers, butterflies were always flying around and little birds as well, what refreshing change from London!
This is a great choice any time of the year, I expect it is as lovely in the spring and summer, and very cosy in winter, the heating was very efficient when we needed to use it.
The kitchen area is well stocked with pans, cutlery, glasses, everything we needed. The bed was really comfy, bathroom shower was great, and the surroundings were quiet at night. We parked right outside the bungalow.
We really enjoyed walks along the Jurassic coast and the smell of the sea which I have missed greatly this year, having not been anywhere at all until now.
I recommend this accommodation highly, Margaret and Theresa are extremely welcoming hosts, and very helpful. We will visit again. Thank you for a superb stay!

This was our 11th visit to Golden Acre and we stayed in the Marine Suite for the third time. Everything is almost perfect each time, only wish there was access to a washing machine on the site. We realise there is a launderette in Bridport but as we usually stay at Golden Acre for 14 days the opportunity to launder our clothes and dry them on the provided washing line would be so helpful. Also, we always bring sheets to cover the furniture (we bring 3 dogs!!) and are rather upset that now we have to pay for our bedlinen to be provided as we have always been happy to supply our own.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was very clean, cosy and had everything we needed. We met the maintenance man when we arrived (by chance, it is self check-in) who was really welcoming and helpful, and very knowledgeable about the area.

The dog biscuits were very much appreciated by our little pooch, and the list of dog friendly attractions, restaurants and pubs were such a helpful touch. The path at the back which led past the lovely little shop on the way to the beach was cute to explore and a handy alternative to the road. Perfect location to reach everywhere around Dorset for day trips.

It really was the most dog friendly place we've stayed at and have recommended to friends and family already - if we come back down to Dorset we would definitely be back here!

This was our second stay at Golden Acre, having been here last September, so we knew what to expect, but this was even better than our first visit. We again stayed in one of the "Ammonite" lodges, (No. 18), which was in a slightly quieter area of the park than last time so better for our dog. The lodges are not large but more than sufficient for our needs.

The lodge was clean, tidy and adequately furnished with a well equipped kitchen and a good sized bathroom. The wi-fi was still a bit intermittent but not really a problem.

The biggest plus point for this accomodation is its location, once you have negotiated the rather narrow lane. You are just a few minutes from the all year dog friendly beach and the coastal path with its wonderful walks and scenery. You can walk over the cliff path to West Bay in about 1/2 hour, though it will probably take longer due to stopping to admire the views. The excellent dog friendly village pub is even closer.

The staff were helpful and very friendly, though we could have gone the whole stay without any contact as the contactless check-in and check-out procedures were excellent in these strange times.

We would absolutely recommend this accomodation for anyone looking for a peaceful stay in very pleasant surroundings, especially if you have dogs on board.
We are already looking forward to our next visit in September!

Friday to Monday short break, everything we needed. Mum and daughter with 2 dogs, very well arranged accommodation. 2 ensuite bedrooms, very dog friendly and a garden area accessed from the side. Parking adjacent ( would have been even better if next door car parked within the lines!). Yes, the lane down is narrow, but only had one scary encounter that needed special manoeuvring...no worse than the other local country lanes. Great location for visiting the Dorset attractions, we loved Hive Beach with the restaurant, West Bay, the local farm shops, the accessible walk at the NT woodland and the beach with the adjacent car park (2 along from Hive Beach, to the left on the map). Plenty we didn't get around to, so looking forward to coming back x

Just back from a lovely holiday here. Great location and our cottage (Jurassic Suite - number 7) was way bigger than we thought it would be and plenty of room for 2 adults, 2 teens and a dog. Generous and thoughtful welcome gifts for humans and canines. The road in and out of Eype is single car width and not for the faint hearted so it was brilliant to be staying in the village and a 5 minute walk from the beach. There is a short cut between villas 11 and 12. The beach is glorious and never gets too crowded even in the height of summer. The Golden Acre owners are lovely but leave you in peace. None of those passive aggressive notices like you get in some places. The cottages are immaculately clean and comfortably furnished - nothing fancy but that’s reflected in the reasonable prices. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook simple meals. The site is completely dog friendly. Our mutt had an extremely relaxing stay. Would definitely return!

This was our first holiday with our dog and Golden Acre exceeded all our expectations. The lodge was equipped with everything we needed and spotlessly clean. The gift bag of dog biscuits was a lovely touch (and appreciated by our pup!). Little touches like the stake to put your dog's lead on outside were really thoughtful as meant we could put our pup on the long lead and she was safe out the front. Private garden and gated front door were also appreciated. Short walk to the dog friendly beach across the fields and close to West Bay. The welcome booklet we received in advance was fantastic, loads of suggestions for dog friendly places to go. We ate at the local pub (The New Inn) a couple of times which was really good, and enjoyed breakfast at The Downhouse Farm Cafe (pre-book for both). We would highly recommend and would love to go back.

We couldn't fault this place. The lodge was immaculately clean and well equipped with everything we needed and the added bonus of a great shower !! So safe for our dog. 5 minutes walk along a safe path to the beach (this can be found between lodges 11 and 12) and 5 minutes in the opposite direction to the pub. A great walk over the cliff to West Bay and in fact so many walks on your doorstep we didn't take the car out once in the 10 days we were there. The Spar shop up at Highland's End caravan walk is a 10 minute on a footpath walk up past the church and has all you need. If you are thinking of ordering the hamper for your arrival then do!! My son arranged a hamper for us and it was amazing. Local produce containing bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, cheese, butter, milk, biscuits and so much more. If you are a dog owner then you can rest assured your dog(s) will love it especially the brilliant gates on the front doors. Eype beach was a favourite of Murphy's, we went every evening for a swim. If I have one criticism it is I should have booked for longer, we really didn't want to leave. We will definitely be coming back. Do book directly with the site, they are so helpful and friendly.
