Great place to stay, very relaxing, accessible to some great Dorset beaches and country walks. Stayed in a small cottage with my 5 year old son, very cosy and warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Fantastic views over farm land from our window / balcony. Tucked away but only a 5 minute drive (if that) to beaches.

We had a lovely time at Rudge Farm when we headed down for a friend's wedding. The accommodation was perfect for the six of us, really warm and comfortable. The area is stunning, and we had some lovely coastal walks at Chesil and Burton Bradstock. Thank you!

We spent two nights at Rudge Farm with our two children aged 6 & 8. It was prefect for us and the additional facilities of a playground, games room and DVD library were fantastic. The cottage was very well equipped, warm and set in beautiful countryside.

This was our sixth or seventh visit to Rudge Farm and it was, as always, a delight. I cannot recommend this place enough. The cottage was clean and well furnished, and the tea tray on arrival is a nice touch. The beds are comfy and the kitchen well supplied. The garden is lovely and our 4yo loved feeding the ducks...

Great base for exploring. Friendly and relaxing. Kids enjoyed the rowing boats and games room with the skittles, pool and football table, plus tennis! Lovely and got to be the best view from The Orchard.

This was our 8th visit to rudge farm and the best so far. We stayed in thatchers as we do every year, and were pleased to see new living room furniture which was very comfortable. The changes to the games room were also good meaning it is not so cold in there. Bed remains the comfiest my wife and I...

A delightful and cosy property set in wonderful Dorset countryside a mile from main road. No mobile phone reception and very slow internet. Wonderful! Great to be able to see stars especially Milky Way due to lack of light pollution. The perfect place to cast aside the cares of the world!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rudge Farm Cottages is peacefully situated on a gentle south-facing slope, overlooking the beautiful Bride Valley and close to Dorset’s World Heritage coastline. The farm is a haven for peace and tranquility within 20 acres of beautiful countryside of mature woodland, meadows and lakes. The old farm buildings have been thoughtfully converted into ten attractive holiday cottages, maintaining many of the original features, ranged around a flower-decked yard and with spectacular views across the Bride Valley towards the Coast. The cottages are all 4 star tourist board rated and are comfortably furnished with a warm and inviting atmosphere providing the perfect place for families or couples. The cottages vary in size from one to three bedrooms with most accommodation on the ground floor. Around the Farm we have plenty of leisure facilities, a picturesque woodland walk and sporting activities, including an all weather tennis court, for the more active. Alternatively you can enjoy relaxing down by the meadows or perhaps take a gentle row around the lake. The games room and games barn provide plenty of indoor activities if the weather is not so good. These include pool, table tennis, skittle alley and table football. The farm is also ideal for younger children with safe play areas including a sandpit, swings and slides, trampoline and activity pirate ship. Close to Rudge Farm there are plenty of fantastic beaches, including Hive Beach which has the highly recommended (by the Sunday Times) Hive Beach Cafe. There are also great beaches a bit further afield at Lyme Regis and Weymouth. The Dorset Coastline is a World Heritage site and provides some of the most dramatic coastline in the UK with Chesil Beach, Durdle Door and Golden Cap. ... more   less
