Outbuildings Dorset hotel emerges as a gem for numerous guests, praised for its eclectic amenities such as the cinema barn and 'Bubbles in the woods.' The cleanliness is regularly commended, with visitors appreciating the pristine conditions and premium toiletries. Many find the value noteworthy, offering quality experiences without breaking the bank. The hotel's service is frequently lauded for its personal touch and welcoming nature. While its beautiful location captures hearts, its proximity to a busy road is a minor caveat. My husband and our Labrador, my parents and my Aunt all had our own places at Outbuildings. We had The Cider Room. Bearing in mind the current climate, the property was absolutely spotless. Contact with the owners was by text, which worked well for us.
The Cider room was perfectly spacious with everything we needed there. The bed was very comfortable. It was a double and we sleep on a super king size at home so felt a little small but that’s personal preference. The decor was lovely and rustic and our dog appeared to immediately feel at home! I adored the log burner. Very cosy.
There is a large field right opposite where the edges had been trimmed down, so walking pooch round there wasn’t a chore in the wind and rain we were blessed with! There are several options for food packages and you can also order wine, which we did,and delivery and payment was completed safely. Recommendations left for local restaurants were helpful. We had milk and some farm eggs left for us which was really nice. I can imagine in the better weather here it’s perfect for sitting out for a glass of wine, although we did manage it for about ten minutes! Lovely location and plenty of places to visit nearby. We plan on returning and I’d recommend the Outbuildings to anyone. It was my birthday and the first time away since March and was absolutely perfect. Thankyou so much!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and I couldn’t praise it more. From the moment we arrived we were mind blown. We called to say we were 30 minutes away and as we arrived the fire was on, beautiful smelling candles were lit and the table was set beautifully.

The customer service was the best I have ever experienced to the point where we would receive a text response within 15 seconds.

The quality of the rooms was perfect from the locally sourced food, the decor, to the incredible smell of the towels. They aim to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible and try support you in doing the same.

We also experienced 6 hours of the hay barn cinema which was unbelievably incredible and extremely romantic. Our next hotel on this trip has a lot to contend with.

Myself & partner stayed at the Outbuildings for two nights, the rooms are beautifully decorated with everything you need, lots of little touches including milk, eggs & a freshly baked cake. The room was spotlessly clean. The farm n which the rooms are situated is very welcoming with lovely gardens & views. We can’t wait to go back & try their gin picnic 😊

We had an amazing stay with fantastic service from Ed and Dom! Both very helpful, happy and ensured our stay was delivered to the highest standard. The waitress (not sure of her name) was also helpful by providing a lovely warm
experience and ensured our drinks were topped up during our meal. Great cocktail selection and all reasonably priced.

The attention to detail throughout the farm was perfect, the exterior and interior were beautifully implemented throughout and I understand the owners have personally selected and uniquely hand picked the furnishings themselves from vintage shops.

We stayed in the Pressing Room once used to store baskets of fresh apples ready to be pressed to make cider. The room is a large open-plan living with a dinning area and a kingsize bed. Double-height wooden ceiling with wooden beams adding to beautiful rustic style with historic flagstone flooring. Loads of natural lighting during the day thanks to double French doors looking over the fields.
No expense spared, they provided complimentary toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and body-wash, all hand made and also available to buy in their gift shop.

Thank you to Chef Mark for his lovely seasonal menu served at “The Cart Shed” the menu was carefully curated by the chef himself and the food was spot on, delicious and tasty. The Pear Tarte Tatin was my favourite and this was to share however it was so tasty I had it all to myself. Must try is the West Country Scallops in their shells, full of flavour and beautifully presented.

We also had an early evening meal on Sunday which again was amazing, home made Beef Bourguignon served with mash. This was home made and a very good portion.

The breakfast hamper was fully prepared by the farm ready to cook in the comfort of your own room, all fresh and enough to make a full English breakfast.

For true cinema lovers, you can indulge your passion by booking the onsite cinema barn all to yourself!

Choose films from Netflix or Apple TV and treat yourself to snacks and sweets in the comfort of your own barn with heated blankets and a hot water bottle.

We stayed in late October, Sunday to Tuesday and our room was heated to the correct temperature making it cosy in the evenings.

Also, they offer a large car parking area with an electric charging point.

If I could rate this beautiful stay more than 5 stars, I would! We stayed at outbuildings for 2 nights in The Pressing Room for my partner’s 30th birthday and all I can say is WOW. From the small, intricate details of the room, to the 5* service - text for a tipple?! Genius. I booked the birthday package which included champagne on arrival, birthday breakfast hamper, bubbles + bubbles in the woods and the hay barn cinema. Each experience was absolutely incredible and we enjoyed every moment. We were able to bring our dog who loved it as much as we did! The off lead dog field opposite and he was in his element! The location was perfect also - 5 minutes down the road from West Bay and 20 minutes to the bigger town of Lyme Regis. We didn’t want to leave and will 100% be back!! Thank you to Dom and Ed for making us feel so welcome, from the back and forth emails prior to the fantastic service on arrival!!

We stayed in the Pressing room for 2 nights and were greeted with a lovely view, fresh eggs, a lovely fruit cake and fresh coffee. it was a perfect base to visit my favourite places, Bridport town is interesting to walk around, visit the vintage market. everything was set out perfectly, clean, great size for 2 adults and a child, and a small dog. Our dog enjoyed a walk in the field, we had dinner outside in the evening, I recommend the filet steak from the butcher in Bridport town.

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in the ‘pressing room’. We were made to feel very welcome by this family run establishment.
Our accommodation was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a modern bathroom and everything else you might need for your stay. Our outbuilding was well insulated and heated, we also had a log burner which made our room very cosy indeed. The decent Wi-fi and large TV with Netflix etc., all included is a nice touch.
The breakfast hamper is just excellent! The bacon, sausage, eggs, bread, jam, etc., are all produced on-site or locally.
The location is great, just a short distance to Bridport and surrounding areas. There are some deals with local restaurants, taxi firms, etc., as well.
We had a lovely time staying here. The rustic charm with some luxury in a peaceful relaxing location is an ideal getaway. We will be back.

We have stayed at the Outbuildings several times now and thoroughly enjoy our visits there. The location is perfect for Bridport market town and so many areas of beauty on the coast and inland to explore. It’s peaceful, with beautiful scenery. You really are left alone to relax and take it as easy as you want. The surrounding fields are so nice to wake up to, especially coming from the busy streets of London. It’s a Great escape for sure!
The rooms are stylish and tastefully put together with everything you need for a self catering stay.
We just love it and wish we had an escape to the country property like this to call our own.
The team at the Outbuildings’s have worked so hard to get this business noticed, and we’ll be sure to pass on details to friends and family who we know will love it.

Nicole, London

This was my second trip to Outbuildings and I’m already planning the third. Each studio is so stylish, impeccably clean and furnished with the best of everything from Denby plates to a 55in smart TV. The owners are friendly and accommodating whilst also giving you privacy and self sufficiency. The farm is gorgeous and dog friendly and then even allowed us to charge up our electric car. This place is a gem

We went for the Midweek pig out trip and stayed in the Sty for two nights.

The room was amazing! Comfy bed, kitchen with everything you need and gorgeous interiors. The highlight has to be the outside area you have with the Sty including chairs tables and BBQ. Every detail was well thought out including the lovely products they have to use (these can also be purchased on site). Our lovely friends even arrange a bottle of Champagne (local which was so tasty) to be in our room on arrival.

On the first night, we ate out at the Cart Shed restaurant which is also on-site and enjoyed a three-course meal, wine and cocktails. Could not fault the food or the service. It was nice to eat in there with another couple to chat to after a few drinks.

As part of the package, we got breakfast and dinner hampers that we could cook ourselves in the Sty. This was great as we both love to cook and the quality of the food was amazing.

Ed and Dom who run Outbuildings were so friendly and could not do enough for us, easy communication via text, simple check in and check out. If you are a dog lover, Oscar and Cassie and the family cat also stopped by to say good morning which we loved!

Next time we would opt to stay in the Pen or the Coop just to try a different room but we believe the Sty had the best outside space. Can't wait for our next visit!
