Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really enjoyed our stay with Linda and John. They really looked after us. Lovely room with large bed and view across to the harbour. Tea making facilities with a range of drinks. Bathroom with walk in shower and free toiletries. Great position to walk into West Bay. Lovely stay. Thank you.

What a lovely little place we have found, just on the outskirts of West Bay. We stayed in the River View Room which is just up a flight of stairs. A large bright airy room, huge bed and plenty of storage for clothes etc. Kettle with Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate making facilities in the room. Hairdryer, TV. Small fridge just outside the room on the landing is always very useful. Bathroom with shower was lovely. Parking on the driveway outside the front of the property. Views across fields towards the harbour (though you cannot see the sea) and river. John and Linda made us feel very welcome from the start. Always on hand with tips and advice on places to visit. Wonderful breakfasts, either cooked or cold, you made your choice (of cooked) the night before. Places we visited in the area included coastal path walks along East Cliff. Walking the coastal path in the other direction towards Eype, Thorncombe Beacon to Seatown where there is a pub. If you feel energetic continue walking to Golden Cap (we did this on a separate day) Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Portland, The Subtropical Gardens together with Chesil Beach and Abbotsbury Swannery definitely worth visiting. Pubs in West Bay, we mostly ate at The George (they don’t take bookings) and The Rise (which did take bookings) West Bay is approx. 10-15 mins easy flat walk from the B&B.

We returned to Seadale after a few years and were delighted to find little has changed other than Covid care! The facilities offered are first class comfortable and spacious room, high class towels and toiletries and great in room continental breakfast. The accommodation is ideally suited for a quick walk into West Bay, or venturing further. We cannot thank Linda and her husband enough for their friendliness and assistance generally, but specifically in getting restaurant bookings. Would we return, well we have a booking for next year

Excellent breakfast, friendly hosts. My room was spacious and comfortable and the en-suite well appointed. Set back from the road to the seafront and within walking distance of the seafront and Bridport town centre. Would not hesitate to visit again when I am on business in the area.

This is a truly lovely B&B. The double room was light and spotless, very comfy bed and wonderful White Company bedding. The breakfasts were delicious. The location makes it equally easy to walk in to Bridport or West Bay. Friendly owners John & Lynda. We will stay again on our next Dorset trip

We stayed for two nights. Lovely and clean, comfy, lovely décor and paintings by locals. Excellent breakfast and lots of chat. For the price very good value. Nice walk to West Bay. Very good local restaurants and pubs, but also first rate fish and chips from small kiosks.

The beginning of August we came back again for 3 nights . We have stayed here before and loved it so much we couldn't wait to come back. Linda welcomed us and showed us to our room, (we had asked the same room we had last time). It is only a short walk to the harbour, our room, again was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent, I had the salmon and eggs, my husband had the full English and our son had beans and toast. On this occasion we used the Scottish smoke house, we had the most wonderful evening. John and Linda could not do enough for us, our son held Linda captive playing Lego and couldn't wait to see John at breakfast. On the day of our departure, our son was so upset to be leaving, we genuinely felt like we'd been staying with family than in a B&B. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality and we look forward to seeing you again x x

Excellent room, cleanliness second to none, tea making facilities with choice of beverage. Toiletries, plentiful, free wifi. The little touches made a difference such as box of tissues in room, Linda and John Baker were the perfect hosts serving a bountiful choice of breakfast. Could not eat all of the continental so was offered a 'doggy bag 'to take away. Also had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon and the full English, not a bad thing to say about Seadale. Would highly recommend and would most certainly stay again when in the area. Parking on site.
