Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel comfortable and staff generally friendly and courteous but the owner was rude which totally spoiled our stay. We did inform the hotel of our experience but have yet to receive any apology. Cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not feel inclined to dine there preferring to go elsewhere where we felt more welcome.

Exceptional staff & great food I visited with my elderly parents for a week. Every member of staff were so kind, friendly, caring & thoughtful. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them, despite clearly being busy. The food was great, so we ate at the hotel most days. And if we had a request for something slightly different they were very accommodating. It was a very relaxing stay & it felt special. It was by our second stay here & we hope to come again. The downstairs room - number 6 - was perfect for my dad’s mobility needs.

Just had one of the best Sunday lunchs in years. Good food selection. I had the pork my partner had the gammon.. Good portions all well cooked. The roast potatoes were to die for. Which is unusual as py partner usually tries one and leaves the rest but this time she cleared the plate. Fantastic selection of sweets and ice creams. Can highly recommended this restaurant although you have to book. Malins course £13:50 Sweets were 7:50. Had a bottle of rose pinot £24:75.

Visited a few times now, firstly with my husband who has sadly passed away now and this time with my sister. I come down to West Bay to visit a life-time friend. This is an excellent hotel with warm friendly accommodating staff. I have health issues and they are always happy to make sure there is a fridge in the room to house my medication. The place is lovely and clean, there is plenty of coffee/tea etc available with more on request. Beds are very comfortable and the spa bath with tv is to die for lol. The food is superb and I now have to go on a diet! Thank you Joanne, Paul and Staff for a lovely weekend, keep up the good work.

Lovely place to stay, room was relaxing and well decorated, breakfast and dinner were delicious. But oh dear the mattress on our bed was so dreadfully soft , should be thrown out and replaced, we spent the day hoping our next hotel would have a proper mattress and it did. Would give 5 stars if we had got a good nights sleep

Such a beautiful place to stay. Lovely clean rooms with spa bath with TV. Restaurant well laid out. Food amazing. Staff very friendly. Lovely lounge and garden to sit in. 5 minute walk to beach and shops. Only downside for us......and a personal choice, so not a criticism. An upmarket room but had instant sachets of nescafe coffee. Would of been much more inkeeping with fresh coffee bags. Went down to bar to get proper coffee and they don't have a machine, but provided cafetieres for fresh coffee. However this tasted just like instant. Although it wasn't.. so had to go out for a decent coffee. Next time we would just bring our own coffee bags so not a problem.
