We have just returned from our third stay at The Beach Rooms and we cannot recommend it highly enough. My only reservation in doing so is that we may not be able to book next year! Pete and Polly Wild are wonderful, kind good-humoured hosts, leaving their guests to enjoy a substantial wing of their family home. Breakfasts are a high point in the day, be warned! The views from The Beach Rooms are across the Charmouth Bay and, as the nearest house to the sea, in full sight and sound of the surf, I doubt the views can be bettered. I have never been super-mobile when staying there but have written substantial portions of a book, finished numerous water colours and enjoyed hours of photography of the sea and local surroundings. It is peaceful and a sheer pleasure to enjoy Charmouth from this house. I think it would be a squeeze for more than two but for a couple, it is just great and we intend to return!

Best B&B breakfast we have had; locally sourced and beautifully cooked. Wonderful sea view from the living room and patio. Quiet location (a fossils throw from the beach), with convenient parking. Friendly hosts with excellent knowledge of the local area. Clean and plenty of space for a small family. Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday.

We chose The Beach Rooms because it was close to the sea. We wanted a break to rest and relax and that is what we got. Peter and Polly are wonderful hosts, you have a self contained suite. Bedroom, sitting room bathroom and patio. The sitting room and patio have wonderful views of the beach. Thus is a base where you can relax, or go walking from, or fossiling if you want. It is a bed and breakfast and that is a treat. Breakfast is served either at the table in the sitting room or on the patio, choice is yours. Fantastic full english but other options available, my husband loved the kippers and on another day the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The finishing touch is the toast and marmalade, Polly makes the marmalade and it is great. Peter and Polly have a wealth of local knowledge of where to eat and are happy to help. It is a little gem and I loved every minute of it.

Had an amazing Birthday weekend at the Beach Rooms in Charmouth, lovely breakfast served by very friendly hosts. Very close to the Beach, would recommend booking a Fossell Walk with the Heritage Centre as well worth it. Enjoyed it so much we have already booked for next year.

Second time we have stayed @ the beach rooms, the accomodation is great, last house before you reach the beach and it's in one of ourfavourite parts of the country. If you like the sea, like fossils or just being in the fresh air its ideal. The organised fossil walks are nearby and are worth trying, Lyme Regis, Axminster and other great places rea nearby. Pete and Polly are great hosts too, great fun and friendly...and serve a mean full english!

Lovely place to stay for peace and quiet with a great breakfast every morning served to our room by Peter who was very knowledgeable about the area and fossils. There's not much to do in Charmouth in the evenings but Lyme Regis is only a couple of miles away and is full of great eating places. Many thanks Peter and Polly (although we never actually met Polly)

We had heard about the fossil ammonites and others being dug out of the clay cliffs on Charmouth beach and wanted to see for ourselves. We arrived late at night after a long drive from New Forest and were anxious to settle in to The Beach Rooms, a fine bungalow run by Peter and Polly. We had booked this accommodation only earlier that morning. The house is right up against the beach and has a fine view through the large glass doors out to the sea and cliffs over the weathered patio and table. The livingroom is ample and the sofa bed was fine for one of us. The double bed was great, clean sheets and luxurious towels, in a large bedroom. The bathroom was very clean and well laid out. Breakfast, included in the daily rate was wonderful, a full English breakfast, with coffee and tea, toast, eggs, sausage, tomato, baked beans and so on. The special point here though is the homemade marmalade, prepared by Polly from real Seville oranges brought in from Spain for the purpose. This is a spicy, tart marmalade, just fabulous, and sets off the breakfast perfectly. Pete and Polly are excellent hosts, professional and attentive, and very happy to fill you in on all the local details with suggestions for activities. We were unable to pay with a credit card here and had to use cash. A great stay.

This gem on The Jurassic Coast, with views out to sea and just a few paces from the beach, achieves a fantastic fusion between top draw Bed & Breakfast within a self contained homely environment. You feel as if you are staying in your own seaside retreat but then an amazing breakfast is not just delivered to your room but wonderfully presented by the hosts who are both professional and friendly to make your stay feel really very special. Great walk over Golden Cap to The Anchor at Seatown and a quick ride in to the fishing harbour at Lyme Regis. A great time was had and our thanks again to Peter & Polly.
