Stayed a couple of weeks ago with some friends. We have all stayed before so made sense for return visit. Greeted with pot of tea and biscuits in the residents lounge. Ample parking on the front. Landlady very accommodating for any of your needs. Drying off boots and clothes after very wet morning. Ideas of where to go for a...

My wife and I stayed here for three nights recently . Our room at the back of the premises was of a good size with very good on suite facilities. The room was clean and well kept. Importantly the bed was comfortable with a fairly firm mattress as we like it. Breakfast was a communal affair around a large dining table...

Had a really nice weekend in Corfe staying at Alford House. Great setup with a separate lounge for B&B guests. Nice room plush new carpets. Very good shower and lovely breakfast. Very welcoming and friendly easy to park and handy for everything in the village. Its right on the main road but you don't notice the traffic.

Only stayed 1 night in this B&B, very comfy, warm, facilities good, easily found with easy parking. Bed was very comfy, bathroom had full facilities, soaps and towels provided. Only 1 niggle was that the room we had faced onto the street, which, until the last person had driven home after closing time was a touch noisy, but it did...

Excellent hostess who went out of her way to accommodate our needs (and extra guest). Food was excellent, rooms spotless (and bedding and towels smelt lovely). Obviously used to walkers as newspapers at the ready to stuff our wet boots when we came home and the offer of drying wet gear in front of her aga.

From start to leaving 6 days later Susie made us welcome and meeting other guests at breakfast made the start of the day special especially over a full English breakfast. We used the local bus service to get around and I must say they were polite when asking for directions and at least had a smile on their faces even...

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Alford House. Susie made us very welcome from the start and served tea/biscuits on arrival. We had booked the back bedroom because we prefer a quieter room. The room is smaller than the other two and didn't have a wardrobe, just a chest of drawers for clothes....

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night to attend a wedding. The location was great, with only a five minute walk to all attractions. The room had everything we needed, was a good size and the bed was extremely comfy. Susie, our host was always on hand and answered any requests or questions we had. The only downside...

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Alford House and it was delightful! The house was charming and characterful as well as having all of the conveniences and mod cons. Our room was cosy, clean and homely and I slept extremely well. The house was situated near the main road but there was no noise at all and the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Alford House Bed and Breakfast is a family run B&B situated in the picturesque village of Corfe Castle. The village is central to the Isle of Purbeck, an ideal location from which to explore the many nearby places of interest, including: the sandy beaches at Studland and Swanage, Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Alford House dates back to the 17th Century and, until the mid 1980s, the property was a local grocery store known as Driscoll's. Alford House was refurbished by ourselves, and we now live in one part of the house with a separate area for B&B. For guests there is private, off-road parking and your own private entrance into the house. ... more   less
