What an amazing atmosphere in this pub. The lounge bar has a huge real log fire, amazing staff and delicious food. Can't get better. Great walks along the river. Look forward to my next visit. It also has accommodation so next time I will stay longer

They have a big jar of dog treats at the bar and made a point of asking if he'd like some water, making a fuss of him. A lovely place well worth a...

“As a solo traveller far as I have experienced, all of the rooms are annexed in a converted waterfront warehouse close to the pub above an ice cream/tea room, accessed by a street front door way up a flight of stairs, all are on the first floor. All of the rooms are en suite, tastefully decorated and have comfortable beds. Although not overly large the rooms are well equipped [tea/coffee/hair drier] for short breaks and are not disturbed by music from the pub when bands are playing. WiFi may be available in the rooms but i have only used the free WiFi in the bar. All of the rooms overlook the small public car park with direct views across the river and meadows beyond [fabulous on a bright frosty morning] Several visitors have commented on parking difficulties, parking is free between 1800-0900 but charges apply outside these times, this public car park is also used as a market venue on Saturdays. Ample parking is available close by if spaces in front of The Quay are unavailable.”
