The dining menu for the evening we stayed looked good but that is where it stopped, the food was a disappointment to say the least. And while attempting to eat what was presented all we could hear from the few other diners was what we were thinking, washed out vegetables, Tasteless fish from freezer to plate warmed and watery. Nearly a whole strawberry sliced thinly and badly bruised and should have been thrown out, on the meringue nest. Staff wanting to take our plates away while we were still eating. Breakfast was not much better, and still the staff attempted to remove my plate while I was still eating. The room was dated, and the bath panel was coming off the bath. Then exiting our room the door handle came off. When getting back home I emailed the general manager 3 times now with my concerns and am still awaiting a response 2 weeks later. Thanks for ruining my Ruby anniversary.

My elderly father and I and small dog stayed here for 3 nights. It is a lovely spacious hotel and we were able to take my father's mobility scooter into our room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had one meal in the restaurant on our first night. which was very good. Breakfasts were waitress service apart from Sunday morning where it was buffet and it was a well cooked delicious breakfast. I went to the spa and pool once and enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. There is really good place to walk the dog a short walk from the hotel. I would recommend this quiet and calm hotel

This is not what I’d expect of a ‘country house hotel’ despite them claiming its ‘everything you would expect and a little bit more’. The walkway to the hotel and the outside area are generally very pleasant. Then it starts to go down hill. We were greeted by multiple tacky ‘we buy gold, cash paid today’ banners - classy! There was only one person checking people in and dealing with gym memberships while two others sat at computers showing no interest in waiting guests, make the process both slow and frustrating. We’d booked what is apparently one of their nicest rooms, the executive room. In reality it was little more than a travel lodge style room. It had an old, small tv, a tatty sofa, a light / fan that looked like something from the 70s, no artwork and nothing to give it any character at all. The website makes it sound like there will either be a king size bed or 3 x single beds, in reality there was 1 double bed. The one positive was the bathroom. We were offered an alternative executive room, it was no better. We had higher hopes for the spa. We picked up towels and locker keys at reception. At that point the person on reception saw that my wife was using a wheelchair. My wife doesn’t walk too well but communicates perfectly well so it was somewhat offensive when the person on reception looked at me and asked, ‘do you want a locker key for her too?’ Rather than asking ‘her’ if she wanted a locker key. We got to the pool area to discover that the door to the pool was locked and the only options were to go through the mens or womens changing rooms. I went back to reception to ask if the door could be unlocked, only to be told that I was meant to go through the men’s changing rooms. I asked if I should push my wife through the men’s changing rooms and he said, ‘no, she needs to use the women’s changing rooms’…. Slightly exasperated I asked if I should push her through the women’s changing rooms? In the end someone else came back round to the spa area with me and found another member of staff. We explained that we needed the door unlocking to get to the pool to which they said, ‘I’m not allowed to unlock that door’. ‘So how do you want us to get to the pool?’ I asked, admittedly slightly sarcastically by this point? In the end they did finally unlock the door. Once in the pool it has the potential to be a really nice place but it was let down by things like the large line of dirt along the pool steps, missing covers on the pool inlets and a general sense that there hasn’t been much focus on upkeep. Back to the room, we discovered that the walls are paper thin. We didn’t particularly want to hear the bath next door being filled and we certainly didn’t want to hear the people next door using the toilet… but we did! Not pleasant. Finally, when we came to check out this morning there was nobody on reception. We waited quite a while before finally giving up and going to find someone in the restaurant to help us. On a positive note the restaurant team were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. So really not so much ‘country house hotel and a little bit more’ but oversold, dated, underwhelming and seriously lacking in disability awareness. I shared this review with the hotel before posting but unsurprisingly I didn’t hear back. I wonder what this says about their interest in disability awareness.

The positives are the hotel has lovely grounds and the swimming pool is nice. Sadly, however the rooms are extremely dated and need complete refurbishment. Sound proofing is non-existent, we could hear when the next room used their bathroom. There was only one plug socket in the room. Breakfast was inconsistent-one day there was a hot buffet selection and a variety of pastries, the other day there was no buffet and no continental breakfast.

If you are lucky enough to live in or near Wareham the Springfield Country Hotel at Stoborough has an excellent restaurant with generous portions of really good food at £25 for two courses with coffee (or £30 for three if you have room). We recommend the steak, or the duck, or the chicken, or the home-made curry… If, like us, you are not lucky enough to live near the Springfield to call in for a meal it is also a very comfortable country hotel with a seasonal outdoor pool in the extensive grounds as well as having an indoor pool and spa. The room we had was clean, spacious and well-appointed with a garden view and a country hotel feel (Premier Inn rooms do not have fireplaces) and as well as the outdoor patio and roofed deck seating there were a number of quiet areas inside with leather sofas to relax with a drink from the bar. As with the evening meals the breakfasts are very good and the Dorset cooked breakfast is a real treat. We will be back.

We spent three nights in the peaceful surroundings of the Springfield Country Hotel. Our room on the 2nd floor was very large with plenty of drawer and hanging space, a comfortable king size bed, a well fitted bathroom and a stunning view from the window. Breakfasts are served in the Millhouse View restaurant while evening dining is in the smaller more modern looking dining room looking out over the lovely lawns, trees & outdoor swimming pool. We dined there on 2 evenings sampling melon with raspberry coulis & sorbet, poached filet of lemon sole in cream & wine sauce, chicken with cajun spices & tomato chutney and completed our meal with strawberries in a brandy snap basket & profiteroles. There were substantial portions of seasonal vegetables, and the staff were very friendly & helpful. There are plenty of comfortable chairs & sofas with garden views or snug corners and if the bar looks unmanned you can press a bell for immediate response. Free wifi which is provided is much better than the poor 4G in the area. Our only criticism would be the sharp edges on the stone steps round the jacuzzi in the inside pool area and my personal hang-up in many hotels those fixed containers of liquid soap which are difficult to squeeze & give out hardly any soap.

I used to visit this hotel to use the swimming pool when I lived in Swanage as it is about 20 min down the road and in Wareham. There is a good cafe and I believe there are disabled bedrooms but I couldn't find any availability for the Swanage Carnival weekend

We were let down at another accommodation about 9 miles away , haven ridden most of the day in absolute awful conditions are motorbike kit was really wet . We arrived , safe place for both motorbikes , reception kindly took all our wet kit and dried it overnight . The room was huge , overlooked the tranquil gardens . Bed was extremely comfy and it was nice to have a seperate bath and shower enclosure . Bar prices were ok and the service at dinner and breakfast was very good , all staff friendly and attentive . Plenty of choice at breakfast , a well stocked buffet .

Room 342 sounds like a Steven King novel.. This room has rooms either side with noisy machinery in it and worse there was constant water running in the roof space above the room I have to say the staff are brilliant I can't fault the food I stay here on a regular basis but will defiantly avoid 342 like the plague from now on

This is quite a big hotel outside of Wareham. It is a good location for exploring the area. However, no other pubs or restaurants are in walking distance. The hotel provides you with a list of taxis you can call if you want to go somewhere else for drinks or food. They have a restaurant (where we didn’t eat) and a bar open til 11-12pm. The interior is a bit outdated but as far as I could see everything is in order. Rooms were ok. All you need for 1 night. Breakfast was ok too. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is available at the hotel for free.
