Burnbake comprises of 22 luxury forest lodges with hot tubs and camping pitches. Camping: The campsite is a very traditional family orientated campsite, an ethos we have strived for since opening in 1975. We are a turn up and pitch site for tents and campervans. I am afraid we are NOT able to take caravans. We have a wide selection of flat level pitches ranging from heavily shaded areas that are perfect for those hot sunny days to more open areas for those looking to make the most of the British sunshine. Facilities wise we have toilets and showers, a shop, small laundrette, small play area and a café open for peak times. We can cater for larger family groups on our events fields by prior arrangement.

Superb, luxury lodges with everything taken care of and attention to detail. I was pleased the hot tub was ready when I arrived and a real pleasant surprise to find fresh bread and a breakfast pack in the fridge, as well as ice cube tray ready in the freezer. These little details really do make a great start to the holiday. Staff were friendly and super helpful. The hot tub was checked daily. Only downside was, being lodges, there were some flies in the bedroom and bathroom of the upstairs double. The wifi drops out occasionally but you are in the middle of a forest, so not a huge drama. There were enough loo rolls for 2 of us for a couple of days but I'd bring extra if more people or staying for longer. I couldn't find any washing powder so maybe bring your own if you need the washing machine. I loved the rainfall showers and ropes and slippers...made use of the huge bose speaker which was welcome. The laminated instructions for everything were a great idea and very welcome - nobody wants to spend their holiday time trying to work out how the microwave works!! I'll definitely be coming back with friends - superb place and great for relaxing. We were joined by squirrels for breakfast too! Log burner was wonderful and there are logs and kindling you can buy. Overall, an absolute gem of a place.

We spent a very lovely 4 days in a cosy and secluded dog friendly 2 bedroom lodge on a mother and daughter getaway. We thought the lodge was great - definitely luxurious with dressing gowns and slippers being a big plus. We were also given a breakfast box upon arrival and a box of goodies for our dog which was a lovely touch. But the hot tub was the stand out feature for us and we used it every day. The only thing we would think as an improvement is for a few more provided items would be really good, especially kitchen roll and maybe also some logs for the fire. But that’s a minor improvement point! The campsite overall was incredibly quiet and tranquil in November which was just what we were after. We never visited the little shop but it was good to have that on site as you definitely need access to a car to access nearby facilities and beaches. Knoll beach was close by and is the perfect dog friendly beach with a lovely cafe and free parking for NT members. Thank you for a fantastic stay Burnbake, we look forward to returning soon!

First stay at Burnbake but definitely won't be the last. We had a fabulous break, walking, cycling and making memories with the family. Very comfy beds, cosy and warm and much appreciated the thoughtful little extras included. Staff were friendly and helpful. We loved it!

The lodge and the facilities provided are excellent. The setting is very peaceful with a number of good walks on your doorstep and there is plenty to do in the local area, including good places to eat. A very good visit and we have booked again for next year.

First impressions is a secluded woodland yet central to the Jurassic coast. The little welcome cabin and shop has all your essentials for your stay.. similarly priced to a local shop. Lodge 17 is situated between the woodland and I suppose the main camp ground. The bedrooms are exposed so was a little annoying to have to constantly keep the blinds/ curtains closed. Burnbake has tired to curb the issue by erecting a young hedge but it will take years to be established. The lounge, kitchen and decking area is facing woodland which was very relaxing to wake up to and be surrounded by. The doggy box was appreciated having ‘mess bags’, locally sourced dog soap bar and a chew toy. The breakfast basket for us was a blessing having all the essentials such as locally sourced eggs, bacon, milk and bread. The kitchen was well equipped however a few more ‘proper’ knifes are needed. The lodge was clean and ‘rustic luxury’ however I did have 1 or 2 gripes that my partner wouldn’t let me feed back in person… the TV, it needs updating, to only have free view channels and a dvd player is a little 2006 if you ask me.. a smart TV that you can stream to would be more suited to the age. The cabin needs a little refresh too, as some of the walls were ‘bashed’ and poorly painted over making it more obvious, the shelving around the vanity units in both bedrooms are ‘flaking’ exposing the cabin wood. A few other ‘luxury’ touches I would expect as standard across all the cabins is a coffee machine, a safe and perhaps some local toiletry products. Having worked in the travel industry perhaps I’m a little more ‘fussy’ but something like burnbake would thrive on personal touches.. a suggestion would be a ‘check in’ through the guest stay, asking if they are having any issues etc, a set of refresh bedding etc etc. perhaps a departing letter with an exclusive offer the evening before departure. Having said that we was told on check out we would get a -10% discount. We did say that my parents had recommended the stay here and I was hoping they might get a refer a friend/ family discount.. seems a good incentive. Overall we would stay again

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, every lodge on site has a unique position and are preferred by guests for certain reasons, I am pleased to read you enjoyed waking up in the relaxing woodland location. We love our dogs at Burnbake and are happy to read your dog enjoyed the welcome box, regards to the TV.'s we have a plan soon to replace them to keep up with fast moving technology , the cabins do get a refresh every January we are so booked up in the year but plan in the foreseeable future to start refurbishing our lodges head to toe. We do provide the added extra benefits you mentioned but only in our executive lodges and this is not due to change. I am happy to hear you would stay again and look forward to welcoming you back in the future Thank you Burnbake Team

We are a group of five Ladies. Looking for a long weekend retreat in beautiful surroundings as we like to walk and have adventures. We found it her in a three bedroom lodge with Hot Tub! From arriving and being made very welcome , with smiling helpful staff, to exploring our lodge which covered our every need, even welcome groceries to make tea and toast (although we bought plenty of food with us. The bedrooms were clean and well decorated and very comfortable. Bath and hot tub towels were provided as were slippers and toiletries. We had such an amazing time we have booked for next year.

Although we have camped on and around the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset many time over the years, this was first time staying at Burnbake Forest Lodges with family and our two labradors. Our lodge was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Beautiful location, ideal for exploring the Isle of Purbeck and surrounding area (Stundland, Swanage and Corfe Castle). We had a really great time, even with the very mixed October weather during our stay. Certainly hope to visit again in the future.
