Sorry this is a long one

We were 3 adults 2 children 5 and under. We stayed for almost 2 weeks.

Great location, out the way and quiet except for the birds. Perfect base for days out and exploring.
Reasonable priced.

Shower and toilet block next to tent field, showers were good temperature although a pain having to keep pushing the button but great pressure too. Toilets were big and clean with also individual changing rooms with plugs for shavers ect separate male and female bathrooms.

Tent pitch is great size, clean, well kept area, whole tenting field is big with room for kids to play and fresh water taps. Small park and pool onsite.

We didn't get to use the pool as was out everyday but it looked clean and ideal for young kids.

Park and tennis area wad great for the kids to run around.

We had an issue with other residents at one point being overly loud at 11/12pm. We contacted the onsite warden who asked them just to quiet down a little which was a really nice feature to have. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am although some general noise was expected and apart from that one night everyone else was really respectful in their noise levels.

The shop on the campsite is great, not loads in it but enough of the basics and reasonable priced especially when we forgot our mallet.

Keypad entry for cars and car park is maybe a 3 min walk from tent field which was great we felt really secure.

We didn't use the WiFi much but when we did it seemed good enough quality for some browsing and maybe a film.

We were there before English schools broke up for the holidays so it wasn't overly busy which was nice.

Laundry was great with a communal fridge/freezer, we had our own fridge so didn't need this but seen plenty of people use it and it was clean when I had a peek. Washing machine was £3 and tumble dryer only took 50p coins and took around 3 of them. Was great to wash our clothes so we didn't have to when we got home.

Dish washing area. Only small complaint I have is the water was boiling and came shooting out splashing everywhere with no option to change the temperature. Other than that it was clean and well kept.

Overall ground of the park is clean and well kept, not a massive site but was ideal for us.

There is no activities such as arcades/shows/pub/restaurant onsite this is at a sister site about a 20min drive away and included in the price. We had a wee nosey but didn't make use of the facilities there as we didn't feel the need to.

My 2 daughters were gutted to leave and we'll definitely be back.

Having just spent a week here I can't praise it enough. Check in was done via a text message. First impressions were of a clean tidy site. Arriving at our pitch we found an information pack attached to a pole. Our pitch was spacious. Darren the warden came over and introduced himself which was a nice touch. Due to so much rain he did ask if we wanted to move to a seasonal pitch but we were quite happy with our pitch. The shop although it wasn't as big as some was clean nicely displayed and a reasonable price. The showers and toilets were kept very clean and water was nice and warm. There is a was up area and a launderette which is 3 pound coins for a wash and 50p per 15minutes for dryers, there is an iron and ironing board available. For younger children there's a lovely park. There's also a football pitch and volleyball net. The swimming pool looks good although during our stay it wasn't open. We did venture down to Oakdene which is a 20 minute drive away to use the pool and the entertainment. Please know that you do have to use your passes here which ours were e-mailed to use on day of arrival. The village of wimborne is a 5 minute drive away. Would recommend a visit to the model town. All in despite the weather we had a great time well fine Darren and team

This is a lovely site in rural Dorset yet close to Wimborne. We camped on the Tent Field which was great as no cars allowed to park up next to tents, so safe for children. Swimming pool was really lovely it looked like it had been renovated recently, water was lovely and warm. Site was clean and tidy. Reception/ shop and Warden were friendly.

There are a couple of draw backs with this site.

1. Cleaning staff are male but there is no notice in the ladies to let you know, so it’s a big of a shock when you come out of the shower. It’s a pity there is no second set of toilets and showers like at Merley Court . They could then alternate closing for cleaning
2. Despite Their Covid guidelines the cleaners did not wear masks.
3. If you stay on the Touring field you have quite a walk to the shower and toilet block.

We would definitely go back as we had a lovely t8me despite the weather.

Such a shame that having faithfully returned to Wilksworth camp site, it really has lost its caring, personal touch. It feels like making money overrides ensuring that guests have a comfortable, pleasant stay. I've stayed at this site for over 20 years and was looking forward to staying again.
I stayed over the Wimborne folk festival period. The site hosts numerous festival performers, and this year was no exception. My biggest concern came when
I went to use the toilets at 9.15 on a busy Saturday morning. On arrival at the one toilet block numerous women were told.....along with probably 10 other women......to queue for the one disabled toilet. It was absolute carnage.
Some poor young girls were desperate to use the facilities, only to be told by the men cleaners that they couldn't go in instead they were told to wait until the toilets were clean. Those poor young girls did as they were told, despite potentially having personal needs. Also, what about the disabled guests, who lost their toilet to a queue of about 5 woman.
Thanks to the lady on the reception desk, gosh I appreciated her understanding, she let me use the reception staff toilet. This went a small way to solving the problem, but what a ridiculous situation. No apology for the dreadful inconvenience.
That afternoon, I went to the toilet block again. It was unclean. Unflushed toilets with urine on the seat and paper all over the floor. Over flowing sanitary bins, with used products jammed into the lid.
This has really really put me off. What a dreadful shame Wilksworth, you really need to address these issues.

Lovely location and site itself is nice.
However...

Disgusting they waited until we were setting up our tent to call and inform us we were no longer allowed a gazebo that we had paid extra for.
A friend stayed the week before and had told us so there was no excuse for the last minute phone call. Others from our party were not formally told at all until it was set up and someone drove round and told us to take it down.
Now we know there is a no gazebo policy we will not be rebooking the site.

We were a group booking and you cancelled one of our party only 2 weeks prior because your rules changed but they booked a touring pitch for their trailer tent on YOUR advice when booking and the tent pitches were fully booked so they had to stay at a different site.

The water is scalding hot at the washing up area and sprays everywhere with the high pressure. We showered our toddler in the family changing room and again it was scalding hot. Completely unsafe for any child or adult to use and not a single sign in there to advise.

The washing up area got dirtier as the week went on. There was a piece of food at the sink for 3 days so clearly hadn't been cleaned. Soggy toilet roll sat by the sink for days. Whist people should be cleaning up after themselves, staff should also be checking the cleanliness.

It's great the field doesn't allow cars to be kept with tents. However, we have a dog and a toddler so have a lot of stuff to carry after a day out so needed to park next to our tent to unload before parking in the car park (our pitch was right at the back of the field) Before I even had the chance to get out the car to begin unloading, a member of staff jumped straight on us telling us we were not allowed to park on the field. I explained we were unloading and have a small child but he persistently kept telling us we were not allowed to park on the field. He came across rude and very unwelcoming.

Great heated Swimming pool, large area to enjoy with children, football etc, playground. Shower and toilet Facilities were great including a shop with all essentials you might need or forgotten. Very friendly staff and informative. ( and was very helpful when I needed help with the chemical toilet 😬)
Site felt very safe which gave children freedom to ride their bikes around.
Pitches were easily accessible and had a very helpful map sent prior to arrival.
Took my 8 and 5 year old and they throughly enjoyed their stay, as did I.
Thank you,you will definitely see us again.

We have been coming here for years & initially the site was bursting with bloom, then for the past few years it had lost its lustre.
However, on arriving this Monday we immediately saw the difference, daffodils on the way in lining the route, loads of pots & baskets looking fabulous. Darren the warden has made a real difference, clearly a Labour of love. Fantastic to see it looking so great.

We had a lovely couple of days camping in the tent field. The tent field was perfect, a circular set up with no cars, very social and great for the children. Im not sure you would get that feel in the other areas as much but it depends what you are after. The site felt safe, children could go to the play area happily. The pool was a bit chilly and I would bring wet suits for the children next time, it was also very packed! The little shop was good but little, don't expect to buy food for meals or anything. You need to pre order croissants etc for the morning, the other few bits are similar to what is in our local newsagent. We only bought a few sweets. The staff were good, very helpful. There was a 10pm noise limit that was half enforced, one night the site man came round and said to quieten down, the next he seemed to not mind loud talking/shouting across the tents even to him. But it may have been a different supervisor… Overall the main appeal was the other families and the circular set up. Our children loved it, families seem to return every year and now we are too. The facilities are clean. Oh you can hear a loud water feature and the toilet building hum all night but you get used to it. We are glad we went and will go back.

We visited this site after a change in plans due to a bereavement. The site has a great location just outside Wimbourne and is well maintained, although the shower block could do with some updating.
Only downside for us was the closeness of the pitches and seemingly lack of rules re pitching and car parking in the touring field. This made the site feel very crowded at the weekends. Midweek the rural setting was lovely. Staff were friendly and booking process easy with clear pre-arrival info.

We are slightly saddened to read your comments on our shower block, which has previously won awards and even features underfloor heating. We have just returned from the best holiday at Wilksworth Caravan Park. This site is Outstanding in my opinion. The Staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. A booking system was put in place for the swimming pools due to covid and this made us feel so much safer! The facilities were very clean and the park very well maintained. The owners have taken a lot trouble and hard work on this place and its payed off! We will definately be back! Thank you!

We walked into town - yes it’s along a busy road, but it’s pretty safe - almost entirely footpaths and the bit that doesn’t have a path has a wide grass verge. Takes about 30 minutes.

Hi Emma, yes well behaved pets are welcome at our park, whilst we ask that dogs be kept on a lead around the park we do have a dog exercise area. Please make sure you add any pets on to your booking so our teams are aware that you'll be bringing them along. All the best.
