My wife and I have stayed in BallyCairn House, Bed and Breakfast, a few times over the years. This is much more than a Bed and Breakfast, it is home from home. We were welcomed by Johnny and Dee and all cares just seemed to fall away. We were shown to the magnificent Family room with triple aspect windows over the stunning East Antrim coast and hills. The room is very spacious and your every need is catered for, from the hospitality tray, games, puzzles and books to the excellent toiletries supplied in abundance in the beautiful shower room en-suite. I can be occupied for a long time just staring out over the magnificent, ever changing hues and moods of the scenery. If you want a change from the scenery have a look at your hosts superb collection of ceramics and paintings throughout the house.
The beds and bedding are of the utmost quality and after a great night's sleep one of Johnny and Dee's cooked breakfasts with home made preserves is more than enough to set you up for a day exploring, discovering at your leisure, one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
When we visited, things were beginning to open up again and we enjoyed trips to Belfast, Glenarm Castle, the Titanic Centre, the Giants Causeway as well as visits to the Game of Thrones filming locations and even the famous Doors, all within easy striking distance from BallyCairn House. We returned home refreshed but yearning to revisit as soon as possible. Keep it up Johnny and Dee, you have a very special product.

Thank you for the wonderful review and 5 ‘bubbles’ awarded for your recent week long stay with us. Dee and I greatly appreciate your detailed compliments regarding the standard and comfort of the accommodation, quality of breakfast and our welcoming hospitality. We know potential guests will find your comments most helpful, especially as you highlight that BallyCairn B & B is an excellent base to spend several days exploring the numerous attractions and places of interest in the nearby Glens of Antrim, the Causeway Coastal Route, Belfast and beyond. We were so delighted to welcome you back to BallyCairn as returning guests and most significantly, as our first guests on reopening our business this summer, following the period of lockdown. We are delighted you felt your stay at BallyCairn was like ‘a home from home’ and we hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future. Kindest regards, Johnny and Dee.

The beauty of the location, the comfort of the room, and the delicious breakfast is matched by the kindness and warmth of the b & b owners, Dee and Johnny. We had a perfect 3 night stay at Ballycairn with our young daughter and did not want to leave. It is perfectly located for a great holiday within easy reach of many things to do. A drive along the coastal road up to the Giant's Causeway is a must. The scenery is stunning. We truly hope to return. Ballycairn is a magical place, if you're lucky you may even see a fairy.

This self catering studio apartment next to Ballycairn House B&B was excellent. The room had a nice double bed, TV, cooker, fridge, dish washer, washing machine etc and a great walk in shower. All the utensils etc were provided and everything was top quality. The place was spotless and modern. The hosts Johnny and Dee were great and provided a hamper of food and drink. The gardens at Ballycairn are beautiful with views of the sea and hills. There is a proper Irish pub 10 mins walk away that does food and has traditional music. Other restaurants are nearby in Ballygally as is the sandy beach and a well stocked local food shop. This is a great place to stay and the perfect location to explore the Antrim glens and Causeway coast to the north and Belfast to the south. We'd certainly stay again.

This must certainly be one of the top B & Bs anywhere. I just could not recommend it highly enough. It quite simply could not be faulted. My husband and l stayed in Ballycairn a couple of weeks ago as we were attending a wedding nearby. On arrival Dee and welcomed warmly and we were treated to delicious freshly baked raspberry cupcakes and shortbread in the sitting room. Our bedroom was immaculate and the breakfasts were quite simply delicious. All in all a delightful experience. Thank you Dee and Johnny.

Truly exceptional hospitality in a wonderful location. The bedroom was spacious, very comfortable and with masses of storage. Everywhere was immaculately clean and well appointed.
Johnny and Dee are incredibly friendly and helpful and" go the extra mile "to make you feel at home, with little treats to welcome you back from exploring the stunning countryside.Breakfasts are delicious with excellent coffee and an unsurpassed view from the dining room.
We stayed 2 nights en route to visit a cousin and followed Johnny's map guiding us up the coastal road......absolutely wonderful but sadly didn't see any dolphins this time!!

This is probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The house and gardens are fabulous and as retired Art Teachers their collection of paintings, ceramics, furniture and curios are second to none. Johnny and Deirdre go all out to make your stay memorable. An extremely comfortable bedroom with 5* bed linen, towels and an excellent easy to regulate shower. I arrived late and as I was completing the breakfast menu with Deirdre and was ordering some porridge and yoghurt when Johnny arrived back from the airport. I had asked Deirdre for a banana with my porridge and she asked Johnny if he had got any bananas in the shop. He had not and I said not to worry as it was late. However next morning when I sat down to the beautifully laid out breakfast table there was a bunch of bananas waiting for me. As well as the porridge there was orange juice, yogurt with fresh fruit, homemade breads including delicious treacle bread, great coffee and a selection of preserves to suit all tastes.
As I did not have any transport Deirdre had collected me in the village and Johnny dropped me up to a local pub/restaurant on both evenings and I would walk the half mile back to the house. On the second evening after I had been in the pub about an hour I was approached by the bar tender. I was not aware but it had started to rain heavily after I arrived and Johnny had phoned to pub to tell me to phone him and he collected me when I was finished and I did not get soaked wet. Now that’s what I call going the extra mile or half mile in this case.

This was the most beautiful stay we have ever experienced. Johnny and Dee were friendly, kind, thoughtful hosts who provided everything we could possibly need including local knowledge so we could explore the region. Huge bedroom and bathroom spaces were appreciated and a generous home cooked breakfast provided in a beautiful breakfast room. I highly recommended this accomodation and wish we didn’t live so far away.

Wow!!!! What an experience. BallyCairn House was an exceptional stay. We stayed for 2 nights in the family room with our 2 children while we were going to the Dalriada festival. Johnny and Dee were beyond amazing hosts, they couldn't have done more for us and the children. My son has autism and they very quickly picked up on this and nothing was a bother to them to help him feel as comfortable as possible.
The room was devine with the most comfortable beds. Everything was there.
The house and garden just immaculate and heavenly.
Breakfast was something else. It was fresh, tasty and very welcomed after long days and Dalriada.
My 2 children were so comfortable staying here and they can't wait to go bavk and show Johnny and Dee what they have been drawing in their sketch books.
We all can't wait to go back.
Thank you BallyCairn House for the most relaxing stay I think I have possibly had.

Outstanding! Johnny and Dee, our hosts, were the most attentive, kind and generous people you could meet. From start to finish, they made us feel incredibly welcome, could not do enough for us and more! Their attention to detail and ability to make us feel special, particularly our mother who was spending a special birthday there in her home country, was just amazing.
Extremely comfortable rooms in a really beautiful home, which for our stay, they made ours in every way.
Delicious breakfast and they even made us home baked goodies during the day!
I cannot recommend this place enough.....it really is a hidden jewel in the north of the green isle and we will definitely be back! Thank you Johnny and Dee! xx

We are so grateful to have chosen BallyCairn B&B for our trip to Northern Ireland. Our family room was so comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was outstanding, freshly prepared and served with so much love by Dee and Johnny, our hosts. We have never met such caring hosts. Their attention to detail, readiness to help out and their way of making you feel comfortable at all times is hard to explain in words. It is so special to end a jam-packed day with the little treats that Johnny prepares every day! Nothing short of outstanding dear Johnny and Dee. Much love from us and the boys x
