Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were helped out with a room here at the last minute when we were stuck for a place to stay. Staff are very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Home away from home. Unique and interesting place to stay. Very laid back and has everything you need.

A super welcome, comfy beds, great communal spaces inside and out. Brilliant value for money and a great base for exploring The Glens. Couldn't recommend it more. Family rooms are ensuite, so perfect for families.

This was a great place to stay. The hospitality was outstanding - we were made to feel really welcome and there was a lovely homely feeling to the Slemish Barn. Our family room was well furnished - just what we needed and the communal areas were wonderful - lots and lots of space! We were over for a famiyl reunion so would definitely use this again in the future. We really enjoyed our stay.

Finding the Slemish Barn was like striking gold. It is not pretentious. It is delightlfully homely. The hosts are kind and generous, and they have filled the 'barn' with an amazing assortment of nice surprises. Such a warm welcome to Ireland!

As a family with 2 young children this was a new experience for us to stay in a hostel. We were welcomed warmly and shown our room which was warm and well presented. All facilities suitable and although relatively basic were just what we needed. As it was quiet the night we stayed i cant help but think we perhaps didn't have the full hostel experience but we may be back and have a busier time then.

Nice place, staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was in the middle of nowhere but very nice for it. Ideal stop off en route from Belfast to north coast. Room was spacious and clean. Price was right. Unfortunately got woken up very early by noise from guests upstairs. Room also took several hours to warm up. Would stay again!

This is hostel perfection. Home away from home. Everyone in our group, mom 78, me 48, 16 year old boy and 17 year old girl, was happy here. Clean, spacious room and lovely setting. The owners/operators could not be nicer. My only regret is that we only stayed one night!

Lovely friendly family run this place , with great local knowledge. We had a family ensuite room with a bunk and a double bed bunk. Near a little town Broughshane with all amenities and about 20 min drive to the bigger town of Ballymena. I loved the big lounge with plenty of books and dvd's and comfy sofa's
