Having been let down at the last moment elsewhere we found this Hotel at the eleventh hour and though initially we had reservations about staying North of Edinburgh over the bridge having planned to spend three days in the city.We couldn't have been more wrong and more pleasantly surprised. OK the Hotel is a bit tired, but ALL the staff... More

We stayed at the Woodside hotel overnight, but wished we had more time to enjoy in Aberdour. Our room was a family room with plenty of room for everyone. Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. When we encountered a small problem, they we quick to help us. If you are visiting Edinburgh, the train station is near... More

The hotel is perfectly adequate for a night or two. Excellent restaurant with fresh home cooked food at sensible prices. The staff are helpful and friendly and are happy to go the extra mile. Ensuite bathrooms could do with refurbishment. Good value for money. I would go back.

In its day I imagine it was a splendid hotel however it is tired and some of the decor is pretty nasty. The rooms were ok , the bathrooms in need of some serious work but as I said it is OK for the money and perfectly fine for one night en route elsewhere. The staff were courteous and helpful... More

We had a lovely time at this hotel. It is excellently situated for the beautiful Fife coastal path which we highly recommend walking. It also has excellent train links to Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen and stations on the coastal path. The hotel has nice rooms, reception and of course a beautiful ceiling in the dining room which came from a... More

Spent a few nights in this hotel which we found very comfortable. We had a nice twin bedded room, with a good bathroom. Plenty of very hot water. The village of Aberdour is lovely with good walks , a castle and two beach areas with great views over the Firth of Forth, and is only a short journey from Edinburgh... More

On arrival, receptionist was just unprofessional, didn't feel very welcoming at all. Booked a family room to be grunted at an told our child who is 2 years old couldn't stay in that room, asked for her reasons an was told it was policy. I found her manner very blunt. I'm heavily pregnant an had travelled 3 hours to get... More

We stayed for a weekend at the end of September and found the hotel to be very pleasant. The room was clean and the bed was comfy and our room was a good size. Breakfast was okay (we've had better), but it did the job. The lady on reception was very friendly and took the time to talk to us... More

Very cute hotel with nice lobby and bar area. It was pretty warm when we were there and there was no air conditioning so the room was pretty hot. There was a fan available and we kept the window open to get some fresh air. The room was fine, but the bathroom needed to be updated. The reception was very... More

This is a lovely small village a short train ride from Edinburgh. The home cooked breakfast is great, rooms small but cozy, no lifts so pack light. Great location just across from golf course lovely for morning walk & just a short stroll to beach & train station.
