Stayed there for a friends wedding. HAve to say the hotel did a good job with the wedding food etc, but the room was poor. We booked a triple, and it was smaller than an average Travelodge room. Should have been £160 but we got it for £110 as part of the wedding deal. The room was cold, the bed... More

Came here for afternoon tea using a voucher scheme, so didn't pay the full price, happily. Prior to booking I tried several times to speak to someone but always got an answering machine message, despite trying at different times of the day. Not great! The building is beautiful but by dated and in need of cleaning and tidying. The dining... More

We booked afternoon tea at the hotel, thinking we would have a lovely time. I mentioned to the woman who took the booking that my companion used a wheelchair and we would require an easily accessible table. No problem. The hotel claims to be wheelchair accessible. What we were not aware of is that THERE IS NO ACCESSIBLE TOILET! When... More

Attended a wedding in September 2016 and it is a superb venue. The wedding was well managed and the food for the function very good. I would never stay at the hotel again however due to the very poor state of our bedroom and the general facilities. We were charged £141 for bed and breakfast, which was, apparently,a special deal for wedding guests!!... More

Ok, a bit of a mixed review and I do see potential. We attended as part of a wedding party, to be blunt I wouldn't have stayed if we weren't attending the function too, Good bits - food was very good, wedding meal was very good, served efficiently and waitresses were very polite and helpful. Evening meal consisted of a... More

We stayed here, family of 5, during a recent (first time) tour of Scotland. It was a last minute booking and traveling with kids we asked the agency to find us a castle hotel for the experience. Many places were already booked so this is what they came up with. It was fun, the kids enjoyed the "real castle" experience... More

Now this is a special place and either you like it if you hate it. If you are looking for luxury and total comfort - well stick to one of the large, faceless hotels in St. Andrews. If you sort of looking for a fun place then you should give it try. Fernie castle is a castle as it says... More
