Two night stay, with little time spent in the room. Great walks throughout the area with hourly buses to next villages. Stayed in Spa Hotel; newish rooms and well equipped. Popped over to the old building for dinner on both nights, Brambles and 1869. Both were disappointing. Ok, smallish gym and a good sized pool, albeit with kids jumping on...

Auchrannie is OK but I don't think it's as good as it makes out. The restaurants are generally disappointing. We stayed in the main hotel, which is quiet and has some nice lounges. The room was fine but nothing special. Small TV if that's important. The pool is also quieter but in the pm not available as it appears that...

Having previously left 5 star reviews I found this visit fell short of expected standards. - Having booked the mini bus from ferry to hotel over a month in advance I was surprised to get off the ferry and be told the mini buses were full. They would return, but being left to stand in the rain at the ferry...

This may read negatively, but overall we had a nice weekend and a nice stay at the hotel. We choose to go here as a special occasion; I had been ill and my partner had been amazing looking after me. I booked this as a surprise for him and we were looking forward to a weekend away in Arran. We...

Rooms lovely and spacious, beautiful kept gardens but unfortunately this wasn't enough for us to enjoy our stay. We booked and hoped for a relaxing few days at Auchrannie, we were wrong! If we had known that this was a "family resort" we would have never have booked. We ate in the Cruize for our duration of our stay. The...

Clean comfortable room with friendly staff. Had requested a room with a view, fine if you like the view of a car park. Obviously not all requests can be catered for. Breakfast at Cruize inc. a good selection and a small soft play area for the children. We also had dinner here as the children's buffet was on which had...

Been to Auchrannie few times now and never disappointed. Always do dinner, bed and breakfast as food very good and choice of restaurants great. Best part is always service and friendliness of staff. Our ferry delayed and they went out their way to check times etc... and delayed courtesy bus so we could wait on comfort of hotel. Thank you...

We're writing a late review as we stayed in October 2016, but as we've just booked up to go back in April 2017, thought we'd put down a few words... We're a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children aged 5, 6 and 8. Arran is a fantastic place for us and we've visited frequently over the years, always...

Pleasant room. Good service: they were helpful and let us postpone our visit by a week without charges. Good menu in Bramble's, lovely "scone menu", but quite pricey. Lovely spa, friendly staff, tho the treatment room was cold and the water in the pool was cooler than I expected. The complimentary shuttle mini bus and the luggage transfer to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the heart of the beautiful isle of Arran lies the multi-award winning, family owned Auchrannie Resort. Auchrannie now consists of two four star hotels; the romantic and relaxing ‘House Hotel’ catering for couples and those wanting a more intimate experience whilst the contemporary ‘Spa Resort’ is popular with families and those prefer a more modern feel to their surroundings. In addition, the resort features 30 five-star self-catering lodges (sleeping up to 8 in total luxury and therefore perfect for the extended family), 3 outstanding, award winning restaurants and bars, 2 leisure centres both with pools, destination spa featuring treatments by ESPA and Ishga and an outdoor adventure centre. Arran is Scotland’s most accessible islands, often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature” due to the dramatic contrast between the hills and mountains in the north, and sweeping moorlands on the south of the island. A short 55 minute ferry journey off the Ayrshire coast, Arran is easily reachable by those arriving into any of central Scotland’s main airports as well as those travelling by car, train and coach. Whilst many tourists arrive on the island simply to kick back and relax, the island is packed with attractions and sights for visitors of all ages. ... more   less
