Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly, attentive service, relaxing atmosphere and excellent food. The pizzas in particular were extremely good. Comfortable bedrooms too - ours was like a mini-suite with sofa and an armchair. Basically everything we were looking for in a hotel.

The whole team work together from the moment you walk through the door to ensure your time is relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is spotless thanks to the hard working housekeeping team. The food is absolutely delicious using great local produce. Breakfast is served with care and Frances does the best poached eggs. Lucy, Isla and Kathy thank you so much for a lovely stay. The views from room 1 will take your breath away even if it rains.

Dear Elaine, We’re so glad to be able to provide a welcome and worthwhile experience for you after such a long journey, we hope next time is smooth sailing! Our Chefs read every review and they will be pleased to see you described their dishes as ‘perfection’, there isn’t a day that goes but where they don’t self reflect on their kitchen performance. Working in hospitality is extra special when guests take the time to leave these kinds reviews, so thank you for sharing this experience. It mean so much. We hope we can welcome you back again soon? Kindest regards

Absolutely excellent stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable- the kids slept well on the sofa bed. Our bed was comfortable. Facilities were good and everything was spotlessly clean. Weather didn’t allow us to make much use of the lovely terrace but the view from our room was glorious. M staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent - especially the eggs Benedict. We went to bed quite early due to an early start and noticed a little noise from the bar / covered seating below. However this had stopped by the time most people would be going to bed. Thanks for an excellent stay.

Dear Inspiration788097 Thank you for take time out of your day to review your stay, with kids too as that really helps other parents! Our team will be delighted to see this feedback, especially the housekeeping team and the F&B team, it really gives us a boost! Thanks for commenting on the bar chatter, as you discovered we quieten things down and close the bar at 10.30pm to ensure hotel guests can enjoy an uninterrupted sleep, however there are late night bars open further along the shore. If you stay with us again, perhaps we can arrange the Family Suite which is located behind the hotel and away from the bar to ensure the wee ones can get to bed nice and early, We hope to welcome you back again soon? Kindest regards

Shame we never got to experience the food, never even got offered a takeaway option. Booked well in advance advised our party of three was one child and two dogs. All booked at the bar for 7:30. Got a call around 4:30 on day of booking advising they couldn’t honour it due to licence laws, fair enough but staff should know this when it is being booked. We had called and spoken to a member of staff. No apologies, no offers of takeaway …. Nothing, shame as I’m buying on Arran and I’ll be advising my guests to avoid this place due to this experience. You should and could do better.

Dear Shaz & Graeme, I am sorry that you didn’t get the chance to experience the restaurant. We were calling to avoid an issue with your experience not create one. We always endeavour to ensure guests have the correct table in the relevant licensed area so everything is ready for your arrival. When we discovered you had child in the party you were offered an earlier table in the bar, or a table in the restaurant instead, to which I understand you refused. As you know we do offer takeaway and you would have been welcome to order when we were open, at the time of the call we were closed. I appreciate you were very frustrated by this situation and I do apologise if you were inconvenienced, it does sound like the team tried to be flexible to accommodate you. I would really appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you rather than in a public forum, if you would be so kind as to answer our calls to discuss. As a potential business owner in our small community we prefer to work together to help each other in any way we can, I would hate to think we had upset you so much that you would spread negativity about us without having been a customer and we would like to rectify this as soon as we can. Kind regards

Oh my, everyone must stay at Lamlash Hotel. We never do reviews and we do travel a lot but we had to make sure we did recommend this time! From the minute we booked our room over the phone and how friendly the staff were, to on our arrival the room was warm and cosy, dog treats and a ball and tunocks were left for us all! On top of this, the owners had created an easter quiz and the girls got prizes!! They also had crème eggs left for them plus the Easter bunny came and they had to do an egg hunt in their room!! Wow!! Food was delicious for the adults and the oven pizzas were great for the kids. We stayed for 5 nights and ate at the hotel for 3 of them as it was just so good and so easy!! What I really love about the place is how relaxed it is with both locals and the tourists. The bar was really nice to have a drink in before dinner. Staff were all so nice. My daughter thought Isla was great and they also really took to Derick!! Thank you to all we have taken away so many great memories and hope to be back one day!!

Honestly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Room 3 has an amazing view of the holy island and a balcony which is perfect for sitting out and relaxing, watching the world go by. The food and drink in the bar/restaurant are low priced considering the location and reputation of the business. We are already planning a return trip in the summer for a chance to see dolphins and sharks around the bay. This hotel was the perfect place to spend my birthday
