Returned to Lochranza for our second visit with two families in the tricky Covid Summer period. My goodness, what an amazing week we had. Brilliant sunshine added to a wonderful week of fun, friendship, laughter and the most beautiful setting in Lochranza. We travelled with 6 teenage girls who spent most of their time when not doing outdoor pursuits activities, in the water down at the bay. The team at the Centre are so welcoming and go out of their way to ensure everyone has a great time. This time, we had Covid procedures to deal with but everything ran smoothly and the team adapted so well to make sure we were safe but able to escape from 'lockdown'. Lochranza is totally unspoilt, quiet and you almost don't want to tell anyone about it. A very special place where you become part of the family for the week you are there and so sad to leave. The best value all inclusive family holiday there is.

Truly amazing place. My friend and I stayed here over a weekend and it was the perfect island retreat! Liz and Stuart are super passionate about what they do and their enthusiasm is contagious. They went out of their way to accommodate us last minute and helped us out with public transport and sights to see. The girl on reception was super welcoming too. The centre sits on beautiful grounds and it's really family friendly. The activities looked really fun - we'll have to join in next time! Thanks again :)

I only stayed at the Lochranza Centre overnight amd did not take part in any activities so I cannot rate them. The room was very clean, the people very friendly and the breakfast was delicious with various options (included in price). The only problem was that the room was very noisy as the doors to the building and other rooms closed very loudly. However, otherwise a great place to stay!

I stayed at the Centre with my family for a short weekend break. The Centre serves breakfast and dinner and they also provide a packed lunch, which you can select from a list of options the day before. That is all included in the price. You can also use the kitchen in the common rooms for tea and coffee. They provided a cheese and wine on our first night, which was fantastic. The activities were amazing. Abseiling and ladders, canoeing, gorge walking, Bush craft, mountain biking and zorbing in the evening. The children were aged from 3 to 14 and everyone enjoyed it enormously. The location is spectacular and we lucked out with the weather, which was glorious all weekend. The staff were professional and could not do enough for you. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a short family break with outdoor activities, then this is unbelievable value and an unforgettable experience.

For the best value on Arran (we paid 40 quid for a twin share room ensuite, yes 20 quid each) - run by the nicest bloke on the island (Stuart) - you GOTTA go to the Seal Information Centre in Lochranza next to the Church of Scotland. An old school (formerly owned by the CoS alongside) converted into a Field Information Centre, it actually doubles up as a centre bursting with geological information (for geological whizz kids or complete numpties alike, check out the you-beaut sand model with electronic contours all the way from Russia!). Fabulously interesting for anyone curious enough to get off his or her bum & learn about the truly fascinating geo-formations throughout Scotland, not just on Arran (although Stuart can give you a good run for your money on the latter as well, knows his stuff does (trained geologist) Stuart!). We were blessed with the place to ourselves - we know, we got lucky - and then, just as we were hangin’ out one breathtakingly quiet afternoon, blethering with Stuart, a red deer (as in a stag, complete with the mother of all antlers) just decided to swagger by - smack bang in front of our lounge-room window three metres away! What an iconic welcome to Bonnie Scotland (and he came back several times to eyeball me for some more apple!). GO to this place, it is humble, unpretentious, gloriously silent (you watch the burns from on high from the quiet & cosiness of a completely decked out common lounge-room) and if you drop dead of a heart attack, you’ll go happy. Christ! It’s beautiful! Could not recommend it more highly (& there’s a course in Geology 21 July ‘19 for those interested!).
