We stayed in this lovely bed and breakfast in July and would highly recommend it. The room we had was beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. It was immaculately clean too. Comfortable Hypnos mattress on the bed, bathrobes, slippers and plenty of fluffy white towels in the bathroom. The toiletries were from the local company Arran Aromatics (which we visited) and smelt so fresh.

We were provided with good quality tea bags, coffee bags and hot chocolate and freshly made flapjacks for our room.

The breakfast selection was very good and freshly made every day, as was the cake available for tea every afternoon. All the ingredients were top quality and it was delicious every day. We tried all the options during our stay and they were all great.

Rob and Nanette were very knowledgeable about Arran and could offer advice on any question that we had. They made us feel like very welcome guests.

Our four night stay at Cruickshanks exceeded all expectations. Nanette and Rob are incredibly warm and attentive hosts. They've thought of every detail to make one's stay not only comfortable, but also special. The quality of the rooms and ameneties was top notch, including a delicious breakast menu, afternoon tea, and a fire laid in the evening to enjoy view over the sea. My partner and I had to work remotely for part of our visit and were very impressed by the WiFi connection throughout the house--no issues taking video calls. Cruickshanks is a step above the typical B&B and we look forward to returning!

This place deservedly won "Best B & B in Britain" a few years ago. They deserved it and they have not been resting on their laurels. Located on a hill above the village of Whiting Bay on the Isle of Arran, it is very quiet and extremely comfortable. The proprietors are very serious about providing a superior experience. The beds are expensive and extremely comfortable. The breakfasts are top notch, cooked to order with local ingredients and a wide variety of choices (but if you don't know what black pudding is, ask before you order it). They give great advice on where to eat, what to see and do, tailored to their guests interests. Arran is very beautiful, it has often been called "Scotland in miniature". It is accessed by ferry. It is a popular place for hiking and cycling, from easy walks to very strenuous climbs. Several excellent restaurants. The park around Castle Brodick has an amazing collection of rare trees, many over a hundred years old and very large. They have a full grown Giant Sequoia! It is possible to get around by bus but the buses are not very frequent and long waits are common. Driving is on very narrow, very winding and hilly roads, and of course you are in UK so you are driving on the left.

Nanette and Rob are fantastic and generous hosts as well as incredibly interesting people who we loved getting to know.

The propery is finished to a supremely high standard with no small details forgotten. Our room was cosy and comfy and the skylight in the ensuite was excellent for some midnight star gazing. Rob's breakfasts will make you wish you were a hobbit - "what about second breakfast?"

Our entire experience was one of comfort, luxury and relaxation from start to finish. The property is tucked away in the hills with sea views and surrounded by a charming woodland backdrop. The house is luxurious whilst still maintaining a cosy and inviting ambience.

We can't wait to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Nanette and Rob gave us a warm welcome and introduced us to our fantastic room; The Pearl Suite. Large, clean, very comfortable and so quiet that you could hear a pin drop!

Rob’s breakfast was fantastic. Lots of options, with great ingredients and taste. Afternoon tea was served at 4pm with Nanette’s lovely baking.

Both hosts have extensive knowledge of the island and are more than happy to make recommendations for daily activities and places to eat in the evening.

We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful place with great hosts. Rob and Nanette are very welcoming and helpful with advice about places to eat/things to do and generally helpful information about getting about. Rob's breakfasts are outstanding, and Nanette's daily buns were a delightful treat to come back to after a day hiking/doing things. We stopped in the newly opened Garden Suite which is annexed to the main house so it really does feel like your own little hideaway. There were a couple of snagging issues with the remote control blinds, but nothing that affected our stay - which was just about perfect. The shower was great and the bath made for a luxurious soak after a day walking. And the bed with that lovely bed linen was a treat. My only small observation is there isn't any real hanging space, apart from the rack at the bottom of the stairs, so don't take too many things that need hanging up. but don't let that put you off at all. It is good value for a luxury B&B and would recommend to anyone. We look forward to a return visit.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay if visiting Arran. The hosts are fantastic, very warm and welcoming. The room was spotless with robes and slippers to use which was a nice extra. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options available. The bed was extremely comfortable. Highly recommend here and will definitely be coming back!!!!!!

There’s not much more I can add to all the other 5* reviews.
The hosts, house, bedroom, bathroom and location are all fantastic.
We visited the Lagg distillery, Brodick Castle, and as many gorgeous beaches we could fit into out 3 night stay.
Thank you Nanette & Rob for a perfect time!

My father and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful B&B. Nanette and Rob were fantastic hosts. The breakfast was delicious and the setting beautiful. The rooms were extremely comfortable (really felt like a home away from home!).

What made this B&B stand out was the little details. From the way the loo roll was folded (origami and different every day!) to Rob and Nanette noticing and remembering the tea we drink and the food we like, this was really 5 star service.

I can’t recommend this B&B enough. Nanette and Rob will welcome you with a roaring fire, delicious food, and great Arran tips. I can’t wait to come back again!

Thank you Rob and Nanette!
