Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first night in Scotland was exceptional. The little town of Roslin was such a delight. Quiet and peaceful. And Bryan and his wife were gracious hosts on our first evening of our six day journey through Scotland. Great even pitch. Electric hookup...the works. Great facilities. And The Original Roslyyn Inn was an exceptional choice for dinner. We took the Bus 37 up to Edinburgh to see the sites. We didn't stay long however cause the King was in town. It became very crowded. So we took the bus 37 back to Roslin and chilled out before our trip to St. Andrews. We loved Slatebarns so much we stayed another night on our return before heading to the airport. 5 stars!!!

So far this site is right up in my top 5 visited in Scotland! Immaculate grounds, well spaced out, very helpful friendly staff, spotless toilets & showers. It’s at the top end of price we’ve paid but it’s worth it. We’ll definitely be back.

Booked this because of its proximity to Edinburgh intending to visit the city that’s about 7 miles away. The surrounding area was so good we didn’t bother. The woods down to the river and the village (and pub) are fabulous. The site has a good selection of pitches arranged on different levels rather than the usual straight rows. Showers and facilities all very good. Next to the Rosslyn Chapel (the de Vinci code) A pleasure to stay there and would have been happy to stay longer. There’s even a Portuguese deli in the village just up the road. Recommended.

Booked and paid for 2 nights with my partner .we are both disabled and wanted to visit Roslyn Chapel .on arrival we were made unwelcome and basically told to leave with a refund as our quirky Camper didnt fit in .its built to accommodate an electric wheel chair and other walking aids .its registered as a motorhome . If your Camper isnt white and new dont bother . Disgruntled Disabled Couple

Slatebarns is a little hidden gem which is so handy for visiting Edinburgh . Its unique location next to the beautiful Rosslyn Chapel and the lovely little village of Roslin which has cafe, restaurant/pub and a convenience store. The staff were extremely helpful as i explained i would be in a wheelchair. The disabled facilities were huge and very clean, but the high narrow path to the facilities was difficult to navigate for my partner. this is the only thing that i would mention. the site is well kept, quiet and relaxing. I am now ambulant and cant wait to go back to a wee piece of heaven.

This was one of our favourite sites. The owners are great and very helpful when we had issues with our motorhome. The amenities are very clean and pitches were good sizes. The caravan park is in a great location and situated very close to the Rosslyn Chapel and a lovely pub at the end of the laneway. Would highly recommend.

This is a great wee site. The owners are friendly and helpful - I booked the wrong dates and they were still able to accommodate our caravan and didn’t look for payment for the mix up. The toilet block is spotless and cleaned regularly although there are only two showers each in the male and female toilets so if site is busy you may have to queue - or just come back later. If you have dogs there is a country park next door with lots of walking in the woods - perfect. It only takes 5 minutes to walk into Roslin village which has a food store, pub, cafe and bus stops to get buses into Edinburgh. Of course not forgetting Roslyn Chapel which is next door to the site. If coming to the Edinburgh area this is the site I will pitch up on.

We have passed by Roslin Chapel hundreds of times but didn't realise there was a campsite right behind it. Lovely site, nice grass or hardstanding pitches although the road passed the chapel is narrow the pitches are good sized. Excellent toilet and shower block. Some lovely walks on the doorstep.

Great site very quiet and clean. Me and the husband spent two nights here with our dog. The facilities are just perfect everything you could need. Toilets, shower, laundry room and area to wash your dirty pots. These were all kept to a very high level of cleanliness. The surrounding area is very tranquil and the pub and the end of the lane was very accommodating as we never needed to book just walked in and was seated at a table straight away. Everyone was very welcoming. Thanks guys for a well relaxed few days. We shall be back xx
