I stayed at the Poseidon's Inn for 7 nights in mid-July. Middle aged male, travelling alone, with a requirement for functional accommodation providing a comfortable bed to rest my head at night, decent bathroom facilities and a small desk at which I could sit and work when necessary.
I stayed in Room 6, a single room with en-suite shower facilities.
The room was perfect for my needs, the single bed was comfortable with two large pillows. Storage space was ample including integrated drawers under the bed along with a small "open plan" wardrobe with drawers, hanging space and shelves. The "bathroom" was in fact a wetroom with a spacious shower area, small sink and toilet. No frills, basic, but clean, bright and perfectly adequate.
A decent sized table was also in the bedroom with enough space to read or work at a laptop. A good sized fridge that I was able to fill with plenty of bottled water, beer, fruit etc. was provided. A
Given my basic requirements it is hard to find fault with my room. Perhaps the only negatives are that the internal walls are thin and noise travelled easily from the next room, and for what it offers in terms of facilities, £65 per night is at the top end of what might be con reasonable...but in truth I've paid more for less in other places.
So in summary I'd say my room at the Poseidons Inn was good basic comfortable accommodation, well maintained and serviced and ideally located for those wishing to explore Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.

We absolutely loved our stay this weekend, the room was clean and welcoming. We were away for my other half’s birthday and were upgraded to the hot tub room and it absolutely topped off our weekend.
The location is amazing the views are spectacular even in the snow haha. And the hot tub was definitely the icing on the cake and a lovely unexpected treat. We definitely ant to return in the summer.

The room has good space but lacks furniture, for example there is no useful table. The lack of air conditioning was a very bad thing about our stay. The bathroom does not have towel floors and the reception closes early. The hotel does not provide breakfast and the partner hotel that does not provide us with the correct information, we missed breakfast on Sunday and the options on Monday were very poor. There is also no elevator. We carry all our bags by hand on the stairs. Lots to improve

Great location, Lovely room overlooking the golf course and the Moray firth with a stunning sunset . Dining is next door in the Golf Hotel . Staff very friendly and the breakfast was first class. So sorry it was only one night Will most certainly stay longer next time round.
Covid 19 rules apply and they have put things in place with plenty of hand sanitizing points throughout, Table service only served by very efficient staff .

Whilst the hotel has obviously been recently redecorated, the rooms (at least the one we are staying in) needs rather a lot of attention. Firstly, when all the windows are closed, they are extremely draughty, even with the curtains drawn. They either need to be replaced or resealed.

In addition, in this particular room, we could not connect to Wi-Fi. The signal is too weak, therefore, whilst trying to do some work, with only a very weak 4G signal, is pretty much impossible. If I go downstairs to connect to the Wi-Fi, it does connect but when I come upstairs, this connection stops and reverts to 4G only!

The main issue with the room is the mattress. It is lumpy, the springs are gone and on both nights, we literally got hardly any sleep. My partner woke up with a very sore back and I appear to be have been affected with my shoulder from the poor excuse of a bed!! I spoke to the lady downstairs and she offered another room. However, after trying this mattress as well, it is exactly the same as the one in the room that we are staying.

The lady’s I spoke to downstairs have mentioned that this is one of the things that needs to be changed. This probably should’ve been sorted before they accepted paying guests. When lying on the bed, you can literally hear the springs pinging, as you are turning. They are old and are no longer fit to sleep on. No doubt, tonight’s sleep will be as uncomfortable as last night’s sleep. Without stating the obvious, being able to actually sleep in a hotel is a pretty integral part of anyone’s stay!

The manager of the hotel gave me the direct email to the owner, whom I emailed twice, with no response. Tried calling the hotel and no one answers. Tried emailing the central email address and it just bounces back!!

I am now in the position where I have to go to my credit card company to get my money back. This hotel is not worthy of paying guests!!

AVOID!!

Paid nearly a thousand pounds for a week In The hot tub room. The view is amazing and the hot tub was nice albeit the water a bit murky and smelly and could do with fresh water. ( I thought legally they had to put fresh water in before each guest) we ran out of Toilet roll 3 times and for some reason they kept forgetting to leave more, it was so Thin anyway we went and bought some decent stuff. Tea coffee and biscuits were refilled each day which was nice but after 4 days left our towels on the floor as directed for fresh ones yet no one came and so that night had to use towels off the floor to Shower. Gross! Went next door to golf view hotel to ask for towels and toilet roll but they said they had nothing to do with this place and refused. So who owns it? Who do we complain to? Anyway worst thing of all was the bed. I didn’t sleep for 4 nights and was literally crying on day 5 as I’d had no sleep, my back was sore and really not what u want from a holiday. The bed was sooooo hard may as well slept on floor and springs pinged all night long. What the hell when go to a hotel all u want is a comfy bed, everything else could have been overlooked. I left a note for the cleaner asking for an extra duvet to sleep on for extra padding which luckily was provided next day and helped me get a little sleep the last few nights. Was so happy to go home to my own bed though and this kinda ruined our holiday. I have emailed a complaint and awaiting response which will no doubt not come. What a shame as such an amazing location just change the beds!!!! Will not return even though had amazing view for the northern lights. Also another tip, the towel rail burns your bum when on toilet as it’s too close so wrap a towel around it!! Patio doors come of the rails and there is a very cold draft. It could be wonderful with a bit of tlc.

Stayed here last May and gave it a 5. However stayed for 2 nights last week in the room with a hot tub on the balcony.
Carpet was badly stained, holes in the duvet cover, 3 hangers in the wardrobe 2 cheap plastic ones and a size 14 store hanger !!!. Bedside cabinet was warped . A pair of socks in one of the drawers from previous occupier. The sliding door to the hot tub was stiff and didn't lock . Bird poo on the decking when we arrived and when we left so no attempt to clean it during our stay. Small fridge in the room but only 2 ceramic mugs for tea ....no glasses or disposable cups !!!!
The bathroom was spotless and towels were replaced . However the other points have made up our mind not to return.
No mention of the Golf View Hotel next door for dining so obviously a fall out somewhere.as we were offered breakfast last year We recommend you dine there . Nice food and nice young staff serving you,.
So sorry to report this as the view from the room is amazing . However you expect better for the price paid.

On arrival my room had no Wi-Fi which was rectified 24 hrs later. There was no reception with keys left in an envelope. There was no where to hang cloths in the room. There was no bar/restaurant. The maid did remake my bed however a dirty cup was left and the coffee/milk was not replenished. Fortunately I was only there 2 nights however I would strongly advise against this very unorganised outfit!

Dirty carpets, didn't get fresh towels when we needed them, weren't supplied with toilet roll so had to go out and buy it ourselves, tired/damaged furniture, hot tub water was dirty and smelly so wasn't fresh from last customers which is DISGUSTING. Bed was really hard so had a sore back and lack of sleep, sliding patio door to balcony was broken so hard to open and shut and very drafty. Overpriced badly run hotel, and advise anyone thinking of staying here to look elsewhere!!!!

Had to leave and go to hotel next door to get WiFi code as no-one answered when calling over. Main door to the building has no locking system at all so anyone can wander in (no staff in this building at all). Room next door wedged their door open so lots of noise from there. Shower drain choked so lifted plug to find lots of long hair and other grossness in it so basically showed in other peoples waste. Emailed after 3 left to give chance for explanation - have now emailed 3 times - still waiting for a response….
