This is definitely a work in progress, and very promising. Our room, booked on line was, (politely,) bijou, small being more appropriate, and the finish to the room was poor, missing finials from a curtain rail, and a dreadfully scorched bathroom floor did not live up to the quality of the completed renovated areas. Room's in the annexe have no direct access to the hotel, entry to the main building is via an outside stone staircase, or up the car park access road. Not good for persons with restricted mobility. We are unable to comment upon rooms in the main building. Our room however had all necessary travellers needs, although we felt that realistically it was a single room into which had been crammed a double bed, but the view from the, (single,) window across the golf course and the Moray Firth was wonderful. Clearly work is ongoing in the annexe, carpet laying was to be completed but the decor of the corridors and exterior of the rooms was excellent.
The restaurant food is good although the portions are on the large side! There is much still to do, and much requires attention, but the staff are helpful and whilst overall the Hotel lacks finish we came away with the impression that we had received value for money, and that as we shall need to revisit the area frequently over the coming years we shall stay there again, and look forward to seeing the completion of the venue.

King room with ocean view………….conjures up a nice room with a couple of comfy chairs looking out over the ocean! The room was dated, the wallpaper from the sixties, the woodwork and radiator all chipped, bathroom door didn’t fit the space, so wouldn’t close, and the shower was just a trickle on a very stained shower tray. There was one chair, but you could only sea the sea when standing up. The bed was new and very comfy. The room hadn’t been cleaned after our first night, so we asked at 3pm about this, to be told we hadn’t put the sign out on the door handle asking for it to be cleaned, the housekeeping staff had finished for the day, so we got clean towels only. so next day at 3 pm again it hadn’t been cleaned, we asked again, to be told we would need to give them our key as there was no spare key to get in to clean it, it was cleaned, but the previous two days towels were left in the shower. There were two TVs in the rooom, neither of them worked.

The restaurant was lovely and the staff were attentive, polite and helpful at all times. The food was mostly excellent and bar prices very fair. The outside balcony space was excellent and views beautiful.

My family and I visited the Macintosh Restaurant for tea at the end of May, we were quickly seated at a window seat and admired the gorgeous views of the Golf course and the sunlit Moray Firth. Having chosen our meals and drinks we relaxed and looked forward to our evening together. We noticed that service was very slow, and although our drinks arrived fairly speedily, our meals were far slower. Also, once the meals were brought we weren’t then approached to ask if we wanted anything more to drink or eat. I noticed a couple of customers complaining that they weren’t being attended to and I concluded that there just weren’t enough staff on duty for what was a very busy Saturday evening.

Our meals were excellently cooked, and presented.

I am aware through my professional contacts that Brexit has caused a chronic shortage of staff across the whole Scottish hospitality industry with many of the usual seasonal workers no longer being available. I can’t see this situation improving unless the UK Home office reconsiders its aggressive anti immigrant strategy.

We have just returned from a week in Lossiemouth and stayed along from this fantastic restaurant.
Even although they were operating with a limited menu due to COVID there was still plenty of choice.

The food was amazing, from burgers to steak.

The staff were so friendly and thorough with the requirements set out, i.e. masks, sanitizers, cleaning every table as soon as customers left etc.

The view across the golf course and beach was stunning, especially at sun set.

We would definitely recommend you dine here and know you won’t be disappointed

Went for lunch with family today and left SO disappointed. We were asked to sanitise hands on arrival, which would have been fine if the place itself was clean. Dirty table, dirty lipstick stained glasses, and the whole place smells of cigarette smoke including some of the staff. We ordered two salads, a burger and a chicken fillet meal. The salads consisted of out of date brown salad leaves, cubed rubbery chicken and a huge lump of coleslaw. People order salads to be healthy, no? No peppers, no cucumber, no tomato - is that not what a salad is? One tinned pineapple, the most pitiful salad I’ve ever seen! My partners burger consisted of a pathetic piece of chicken breast in between an out of date brioche bun, nothing else in it - awful. The service was minimal, the waitress barely spoke a word to us. I’ve been here twice this year previously, and said the exact same then, but I really mean it.... me and my family will never be back here. Thankfully it was half price because of the eat out help out scheme, if we had to pay £50 for this meal I would have genuinely cried. Truly awful!!!

Stayed here for 3 nights and can’t praise this place too highly superb views from the rooms and everything had a new feel about it room 8 had a new walk in bathroom just completed. We ate here a few times and also had breakfast food was of a high standard and not overpriced. There is also a nice beer garden good for soaking up the sun and enjoying the views . The biggest assets in this hotel are the staff nothing was too much bother for them and we were always greeted with smiling faces so staff please take a bow and carry on the great work you are doing hopefully I will return in the not too distant future.

We came here for a week-long B&B break in place of a cancelled visit to the Emerald Isle. What could have been a disappointment was in fact anything but.

The trilogy of Golf View Hotel with its Macintosh Restaurant and Poseidon's Inn are superb!

Our room in the Poseidon's Inn was huge with a first class outlook over the golf course, a daily RAF air display and a view as far north as the Caithness coast.

Breakfasts in the Mackintosh Restaurant were delicious.

The staff couldn't have been more polite, efficient and helpful throughout our stay.

Full marks to Rona and her team for making our week so enjoyable and memorable.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and homely are words to describe these premises.

We hope we'll be back sometime in the future. A wonderful place to return to.

Return visit, family stay, five nights - visiting my son.
Excellent service from booking to departing. Emma was exceptionally helpful in meeting our needs re room requirements when booking. All the staff were again very helpful and professional throughout.
The hotel is pet friendly which meant we could also take our family dog Nancy with us.

We stayed in the annex rooms, room 15 was a refurbished room with fabulous facilities, the other room was room 16 which wasn’t refurbished but didn’t disappoint, it was very clean and comfortable.

The views from room 15 were fabulous and we embraced them throughout our stay, even our dog Nancy loved the views.

We dined in the restaurant for breakfast on two occasions and evening meal on two occasions. The food quality and choice was very good and the service was excellent - there was only a small wait on the evening re food which to be fair was only to be expected re fresh cooked food so certainly not a negative for us, and well worth the short wait.
Breakfast was also cooked fresh to order as well has a good selection of fruit, cereals and yogurt. Tea, coffee and juice were plentiful and the lovely lady serving breakfast was attentive throughout.

Huge thank you to you all for making our stay so pleasurable and relaxing, you are doing a great job……… and we will definitely be returning again for years to come!

Spent two nights in the Golf View during first week in February and had a lovely room with an excellent view over the Golf Course and the Moray Firth. The room had more than we expected, i.e. a small kitchen area where we could have prepared meals and which included a fridge. Had intended to eat out in Lossiemouth, but decided to use restaurant on our first night. Glad we did, as the food was excellent and the service was very good too, so we also ate in on our second night and were not disappointed.
Breakfast was also very good with quite a large choice and large servings.
Booked on the spur of the moment and it proved to be an excellent move. Hotel staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly and the location was very good with stunning views. The accommodation was also very good, clean, comfortable and warm and the stay was excellent value for the money.
If you like walks, the walk along the West beach to the lighthouse and back was well worthwhile. Will definitely consider a return in the near future.

My partner and I were looking for some heartwarming pub grub after a chilly walk through the gorgeous sands of Lossiemouth. Wow, what a choice we made. To start with, the gin selection was fabulous, I had even joked before hand saying how amazing it would be if they had our favourite Whitley Neil.. it was to our delight they did along with plenty others! The food, wow. Pictured below we enjoyed the fresh battered haddock and the steak pie. What we loved was that we were the only people in the place and the food took a decent time to come, telling us how fresh it was. It absolutely did not disappoint, large portions for a very good price. Heart warming, local and delicious. The two lovely ladies running the place tonight were amazing, even though the restaurant shut at 8 we weren’t rushed out at all, we were offered desserts at 8 and told there was no rush. The dessert menu had great options however we were so full up to enjoy more. Sending huge apologies we had no cash to tip and your card machine would not allow this, we had a truly great experience and will be back!
