Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very disappointed with this park. The location is lovely with the beach, lighthouse and raf jets flying about but that’s as good as it gets. Staff shortages lead to us not getting our caravan keys until 5.30 and activities being cancelled with short notice or none at all. No children under 16 allowed inside the shop without an adult so cannot go down themselves to buy a drink or sweetie and not allowed to buy soft drinks or slushies themselves at the bar. Entertainment and play park more catered for under 7s with nothing for our 10 and 11 year olds. Chip shop closed on Wednesday and Thursdays. Asked the bar staff if they could put the football on, they said to ask entertainment staff, entertainment staff said the bar staff had to do it. Having been in the bar restaurant for food and drink from 3.30 and never been asked for our passes even once at the bar, my husband was asked for his at 9.30 after I had left with them in my bag, he was refused service then he showed them his email booking and was told rudely ‘that will have to do’ Ridiculous. Lastly, I found it very strange for 2 bouncers at the main entrance to be asking for passes as you enter when there is another 3 doors you can enter from, utterly pointless.

We booked over six month last ago to come and as we were staying for a week we booked the pitch with our own toilet and shower. A month before we were due to come out we got a phone call to say they no longer did these pitches and even though we paid already they could not give us what we booked. They offered us a premium pitch and refunded 30.00 only. When we arrived we got our pitch number, which took about 30 mins to find cause they are not marked at all, to find out the pitch was a hard standing not a premium pitch. But we made it what it was and set up our pitch. Though not trying to tell me there is only 30.00 difference from having our own shower to a pitch that has no water or waste hook up. Shower block was not the cleanest and there was roof tiles fallen off but did the job it was meant for. Chippy is over priced for the food I watched as my cheese burger was put in the microwave!!! Shop is well stocked if you need a few forgotten items. Beach is just a small walk away and dogs are allowed but not in the restaurant which we never went to due to this. A holiday is what you make it and for us we had fun but think the site could do with a few things like numbers on the pitches and the shower block maybe cleaned a bit better but all in all bar a few we things we would go back think the issues with the pitches just put us a bit upside down

Stayed for 4 nights with the family for the Easter holidays. We were late at getting into our accommodation due to a staff shortage, the caravan looked quickly put together with dirty cups and a poorly made bed. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable my body aches after 4 nights. We enjoyed seeing the RAF jets flying everyday. The location is lovely the beach is gorgeous. Pool was good. Staff friendly. Entertainment was okay. Bar/restaurant was very expensive for drinks and bit rough after 9.30 with tired kids and very drunk parents. Shop well stocked with good prices.

Whilst the caravans are amazing, the pool and shop staff are fantastic!!!! However some of the staff that work in the restaurant/ bar area are rather unpleasant. Me, my partner and my child went end of march to the 2nd of april. On the last night my partner went to the bar to order food and drink (which we had done each night we were there) and got refused service. He was evidently of age and had been getting served no probably prior to this moment. He had questioned why he was not getting served which resulted in a particular staff member swearing and threatening to throw us out the caravan site. I would like to add He was not being hostile. He even provided evidence he was of age. Appalling

We are sorry to hear of your experience on your final night. Members of the team will request ID as they feel is required as per the challenge 25 licensing law but, we are sorry if you felt this should have been handled better. We provide frequent training with our teams and we will ensure this is reviewed at the next training session. We do hope you will not judge us too harshly and that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Silver Sands again some time in the future.

Having been here last year we were excited to return with the kids, however we were disappointed this year. The toilet block is in need up updating, not all facilities were open and there were fewer activities for our age of kids (9 & 10). Having loved it the previous year, we won't be back.

We - as a group of friends - visited the park for a few days during one of the weekends of Easter break. This is our second time at the park after visiting during a similar time last year. Both the caravan and the facilities of the park were clean and very much to standard at all times. Staff members were very welcoming and provided good communication when required, especially the receptionists on the front desk. Entertainment for the weekend was good, with events such as bingo, karaoke and a live singer on during the nighttime. Drinks were also reasonably priced at the clubhouse. Overall, would definitely visit again for a weekend getaway! Keep up the good work!

Having a fantastic time at silversands holiday park. Swimming pool is brilliant and Andrew Dean is fantastic, such a helpful and friendly member of staff. An asset to silversands. The kids love it at silversands. The park is more aimed to younger kids though and there isn't much geared to the older kids so thank goodness for the pool

Stayed at Silversands for Easter weekend in a couple of Touring vans. Upon arrival the touring pitches aren’t numbered so we were met with various vans driving around the site trying to find their correct pitch, causing congestion and frustration. At pitches A23 to A30 the ground hasnt been correctly levelled since it was dug up previously (think last year to fit new electric cables) people struggling to get their caravans over uneven ground to get on to their pitches. Arriving Friday and the bins were already overflowing with rubbish and getting blown over the ground. The motorhome service area drain was blocked and we were struggling to dump grey water as it was just flooding the area. The Elsan disposal point was filthy the whole weekend. The hose to rinse your cassette was too long and was lying in the disposal point drain and was covered in excrement. So it couldn’t be used. The pot wash area sinks were covered in food debris. I had to wash the sink down before I could use it. The kids entertainment was poor and one night half way through the Kiddies disco the music volume was turned up to the point one of our groups Apple Watch gave her an alarm that the decibels were too high. This isn’t good for a kiddies disco when all the kids are at the front of the stage beside the speakers. The Easter egg hunt was a bit of a joke and very longsome for the younger kids. The food was very poor quality and expensive and the que to the bar on Saturday night was 25 minuets to get a drink. Used the touring pitches several times over the years but won’t be in a hurry to go again.

Just arrived with the granddaughters for Easter break. They were so excited to go to the pool and was not disappointed as Andrew and the team are fantastic even loaning the girls googles as they forgot theirs. Only gripe is pool could be bigger due to the number of guests on site but we are lucky enough that we can visit during off-peak season too
