Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a very poor experience in the restaurant. The choice on the menu was not the best, but we ordered the duck and the burger. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come. There were only two other tables in, so it wasn’t extremely busy. When the food came, both dishes were not very warm. The portion of my duck was tiny, and for the price of the dish, I don’t believe to be worth it at all. It didn’t taste very nice and the flavour combinations did not seem to work, I did not enjoy the confit leg and the duck was quite tough. The cabbage was the best part! My partners burger wasn’t anything special, better portion size, but he said the meat was dry and again, not very hot. We did mention this to our server and she kindly took money off the bill, however we definitely will not be back. Really disappointing as this hotel is meant to be 4 stars with a 2 AA rosette restaurant. We really looked forward to our meal too, but this was a very poor experience.

Staff were excellent, the restaurant was beautifully appointed, the food was also very good - and tasty, what there was of it? All good except for two things, firstly portion sizes were lamentable, £24.00 for a 2” cube of belly pork, small pork loin and half a small pork pie?? Dessert was a Mille feuille which my daughter consumed in two bites - for £8.00?? secondly when paying so much, I would have expected at least a small amount of veg rather than having to pay £6.00 for a vanishingly small bowl containing a couple of small carrots some broccoli and onion. Again, to reiterate, the place was lovely and staff excellent

Had dinner at the restaurant. Beef shoulder was excellent, tasty and tender. Veal was cooked perfectly (med-rare) but quite gristly. Dessert was the biggest disappointment. Whisky Parfait was bland, and a tiny portion size - sounded way better than it was.

Didn't stay at the hotel this year although stayed last year and it was great. Ate at Toots Bar last Tuesday evening and couldn't believe the portions we were served - don't think they were so mean with the food last year. There were 4 of us and although 1 guest had the burger, which was a reasonable portion. I had fish and someone else had Lamb an the portions were pitiful, they smallest I have ever been served - and i have eaten all over the world. There was no one else in the restaurant - although when we stayed last year the restaurant had other guests so I don't think we were the 1st to complain about the portion sizes. The food itself was excellently prepared but just tiny portions - and expensive! Would not eat there again until they change their chef

A great location from which to visit the distilleries of Speyside. Very warm service from the staff and the food at the restaurant is excellent- all locally sourced and prepared fresh. Inspired flavours & dishes - a wonderful menu! The whiskey bar is well stocked with an excellent selection. Loved that they had a car park and the rooms & beds were very comfy. Highly recommend!

We were visiting Macallan and decided to dine at the Pagoda following a review in the Scotland on Sunday newspaper. The whole experience was superb from booking, to the meal and the fantastic service. Anna who took our booking remembered my wife was.Vegan. She provided great vegan options for her. Anna was super professional and friendly. The food was really excellent. Locally sourced and brilliantly presented. My advice is to book well in advance. We were lucky to get in at 7 pm. The restaurant was full shortly thereafter. Sensible prices too. Well done to the team.

My husband and I stayed at the Station Hotel for a couple of nights when up fishing on the Spey with friends and left feeling very spoiled! We were very lucky, we stayed in the Caperdonich Suite which is absolutely enormous and very well appointed. The emperor bed could sleep a whole family, it was huge - a good thing after an evening of whisky indulgence as my husbands snore was a faint echo!! We didn’t have time to try out the cute bath in the suite but the shower was hot, powerful and wonderful. Breakfast was delicious, every taste catered for, and the staff just lovely. The whole Hotel has been very beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with nods to the buildings history and local whisky industry and with top quality furnishings. My husband was in seventh heaven in the whisky bar which is worth a visit if interested in whisky and in the area. All in all I’d thoroughly recommend a visit or stay to this little gem of a Hotel if you find yourself in Speyside.

This is a beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, brilliant staff and excellent food. There is only 1 major drawback to using this hotel is the constant noise and vibration with all the large lorries that thunder past the hotel 24/7. The hotel sits on the main road that runs through this little town and the constant noise and vibration will disrupt your sleep. The only thing I can advise is if you are a light sleeper then look for another hotel.

We had a lovely meal at station hotel on a quiet Monday evening. Beautiful menu and the scallops one of the best we’ve ever had. The buffalo shoulder was melt in the mouth along with garlic mash, what’s not to love? Staff were friendly and we were so excited to order Clootie Dumping for dessert. Now here’s where it gets interesting. What we got was sticky toffee pudding with a few raisins. In no way did this in any way resemble clootie dumpling. It was ok, bit dry. We then asked the lovely waitress about our disappointment. She agreed it’s not like granny used to make. This item needs to be renamed on the menu so your Scottish customers don’t leave disappointed like we did. Would we go back, absolutely! Just pick a different pudding!

A quality hotel with two sophisticated bars. Haut cuisine is served in these and in the restaurant. Staff is attentive and provides good service. For an expensive hotel, the lack of a guest lounge is disappointing. Spacious suites are shown on the website. Our room, although well appointed, was a bit undersized.
