Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed a night for my husbands 50th birthday, we liked the location of the hotel and staff were friendly. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable, which left me sore for days after. This really put a dampener on our stay as it was a special occasion. On return I emailed the manager, to which I received the reply that they hadn’t received any other complaints about the mattress, which was disappointing as it was very uncomfortable for me and didn’t solve the problem. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely wont be back!! Couldnt care less, they have your money and not interested in your complaint!! AVOID!

Excellent hotel, excellent rooms, excellent meal and drinks, excellent walks on the beach and an excellent breakfast to see us home. Stayed here a few times, on the DBB and a bottle of prosecco deal which is usually very good value. It's a lovely hotel and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend, especially the sea view rooms, a sunset over Arran is something to see.

Have stayed in this beautiful hotel more than once ,and it just gets better each time, the room had a view to "die for" and was absolutely "pristine" it was very spacious.and the decor was so in keeping with the area !!!! Utterly relaxing ,the Jacuzzi bath was such a luxurious treat to finish our night !!! The standard of food was extremely high as was the choices available, simply superb in taste and presentation !!! Each member of staff was warm and friendly , highlighting Sophie in restaurant who served us dinner , just a little bundle of joy, and also Rebecca on Reception ,just charming !!! Cannot wait for our next visit !!!! Thank You Waterside Superb X

My daughter booked an afternoon tea for mother's day for myself, my daughter and my son in law. It was awful. Tiny scones. Meagre jam and cream.8 finger sandwiches for three people. Cakes!!!!! Could not be described as cakes, bits and pieces of tray bakes, and one was stale.we were going to have wine after but we decided not to give them any more money. They also were going to charge us with three extra coffees. Will never be back. It was a disgrace. Don't go there for afternoon tea.

Went for afternoon tea with my husband and mum. We have been before about 5 years ago and were really looking forward to it again. What a disappointment!!!! Service was good, coffee was great, food was a huge let down. We had 8 small finger sandwiches for 3 people, the scones were small and the cakes were the worst part of all. To say the portion was small would be an understatement. We had 3 tiny/minute triangles of cake, not even a bite size and one small inch sqaure of millionaire shortbread. Over priced and very underwhelming. Cannot believe the difference since our last visit, really poor. We will not book the afternoon tea again.

Fantastic stay. Hotel recommended by friends and it exceeded expectations. Modern large room, views breathtaking, bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Pillows best I've had in a hotel. Staff polite. Dinner lovely. Nice couches to relax with a drink before and after dinner. Will return but will book DBB package next time.

Lovely, clean and comfortable hotel. Staff were very attentive and friendly (special mention to Sofie) who made our stay even more enjoyable. Good food and fine portions. The hotel sits in front of the beach with a lovely garden, outdoor seating area all with views over to Arran. Walk along and watch the sunset. Part of our package included the use of the thermal spa at Gailes hotel in Irvine. Very relaxing time away.

A perfect getaway, A place we have visited a few times and always improves on each subsequent visit , A warm greeting at reception and we had room 315 in my opinion one of the most well appointed rooms with a Juliet balcony overlooking the Firth of Clyde with the beach trail on our doorstep and uninterrupted views of Arran , really well decorated apartment with jacuzzi bath , very comfy beds . Bar and restaurant , really cosy nautical theme and a great three course menu to choose from , the watermelon feta and olive salad starter was really fresh … big shout goes out to the staff , with a special mention for Aleshia , who looked after us and made us feel genuinely welcome , would thoroughly recommend an overnight . We are in the process of returning again soon .
