After 18 years of going regularly to the Haylie for dinner, for the first time last night we had poor service. Twenty minutes before we were asked for drinks order. We all had steaks and they were delicious as usual however we weren’t asked if we wanted dessert or coffee and had to go and find someone to ask. We were also told after our main course that we would have to be out of the hotel by 10.30pm since we weren’t residents. For many years we’ve sat in the lounge for an after dinner drink and have never been asked to leave. Love the food here but to be given a time limit to get out before we even had a coffee was really disappointing.

The Haylie Hotel has long had a great reputation for its restaurant. It deserves it. We go fairly regularly - both on our own and when entertains friends. Not open to the wider public mid week, it can be busy at the weekends but the quality of the food and service, and view, is unsurpassed in Largs. I have never had anything other than a first class meal there.

A one night stop with an elderly relative staying in a separate room. Very helpful staff, pleasant and clean ground floor rooms, unusually good breakfast and fabulous views of the Firth of Forth from the breakfast room and separate restaurant. Pleasant and relaxing place to stay. PS the dinner is good too..

I booked a two night stay and trip to Largs with a view to buying a house in the area. Regrettably I had to cancel when I damaged my back. I did give around 36 hours notice. When I phoned them the manager (or owner) was downright rude to me and abruptly hung up the phone. Had I been asked to leave a non refundable deposit when I booked I would have deserved to lose it but I wasn’t asked. It’s such a shame because I’m still making the journey but won’t stay there so we both lose out. Shame on him.

I have lived in Largs for 6 years now and cant believe this was my first time in this amazing restaurant.This is so well reputed in this area. Steak was cooked to perfection-best meal I have ever had.Thankyou x

Brilliant got garden suite which would be ideal for a family 1 double room and a2 single room also had kitchen and shower bathroom. Staff go all out to help you. The evening meal was excellent and worth every penny. The breakfast ( included in price) was enough to fill you for the day. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely stay at Haylie. We stayed in the self contained garden apartment which was very spacious and fully equipped. We ate in the hotel, evening meal and breakfast which was 10/10 and with spectacular views. Highly recommend

Highly recommend this hotel,room was spotless,views were fantastic,staff very helpful and breakfast each morning had a fantastic choice of fresh fruit and hot breakfast was as expected top notch! 15 minute walk into town but all downhill.

Another amazing stay at the Haylie! Staff are just lovely, on this occasion we had a lovely upstairs room with a gorgeous view, separate seating area and fridge/freezer which was fab for keeping drinks cool. Enjoyed another gorgeous meal, the steak sizzler is just to die for! Will definitely be back again.
