Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

OK will review only the hotel in this review. After an initial wobble (the key card refused to work on the bedroom door having been reprogrammed 3 times) the management moved us to a different room so they could have the electronic lock repaired. The rooms are spacious , every socket has 2 USB ports for easy charging of electronic items. The bathroom was spacious and clean . The beds are comfy and I found noise levels well below what I have heard in some hotels. All in all a well run , clean hotel. Staff very attentive and actively care about those staying here. Having read a couple of negative reviews I couldn't find any of the issues they raised . A stay here won't leave you disappointed. Great value for money .

Pleasantly surprised by my stay here. The room benefitted from being nearly new, there were all the bits and bobs you would expect from a budget stay and the bed was very comfortable. I ate in the restaurant and the food was good value, promptly delivered and tasty- probably not a great place to eat if you are on a diet though!!

Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. I've dropped a star as the bedroom floor hadn't been hoovered as evidenced by crumbs on carpet and (yuck) a contact lense. This was a small oversight in what was otherwise a good stay.

This is our 2nd year coming for Christmas Dinner and overnight stay. I cannot speak highly enough about the food, the atmosphere, and most of all the staff with their cheeriness, helpfulness and amazing attitude towards their work and effort made to make sure their guests are well looked after. Rooms are clean cosy and comfortable too. We had boxing day breakfast also and it was delicious and piping hot too, great value for money. We come here through the year for random overnights and dinners and at Christmas because we know we are always guaranteed a fantastic meal and stay and will be well looked after by an amazing team

We booked a family room to cut our journey down from the Highlands to West Midlands (England).
The room was nice but upon closer inspection things just kept getting worse.
There was a huge crack in the bathroom skirting board.
The soap disperser fell off and there were no complimentary bathroom soaps etc.
We were given 2 USED toilet rolls. Barely any paper left on them.
The kettle was in reach of my toddler so not safe at all. The tea and coffee was bunged in a paper bag and we found used biscuit wrappers on our table.
The TV wasnt up-to-date with no Netflix or other app tv channels. It was basic.
Not to mention one of the door signs has obviously been set fire roo as there was melted plastic residue on the sign. And there was a smell of smoke along the hallways.
We felt so unsafe that we left just 3hrs later after a rest from driving.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of May whilst visiting family. The hotel was perfect for us (4 adults and 2 children). We stayed in two family rooms (102 & 103) both situated on the ground floor. The rooms where spacious and very clean. Our rooms were also cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels. The only thing I wish the room had was a small fridge, just because the weather was so hot we could of done with somewhere to keep out water cool. The pub across from the hotel was really handy too and we got 20% off all meals as we booked direct with the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, for the price you can’t complain.

We had a fantastic overnight stay recently. The room was very clean and well presented. It was a family room with a king size bed and 2 single beds. We ate in the pub and the food was absolutely fine. It was busy but the staff appeared to take this in their stride and were very friendly and attentive.
The duty manager in particular (I didn’t get his name) was helpful, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. He dealt with our check-in, food service in the pub, and breakfast the following day.
There’s not much to see or do in the direct vicinity of the Ravens Cliff, but for us it was a perfect location for an early start at a dance competition the following day.
We booked quite far in advance so we got a great room rate. We’ll definitely be back! 👍

I am currently in the allocated room at 12.09am and without hot water and being ignored after raising the hot water issue. The porter is trying to contact the manager who is not responding to communications. Informed by the porter there is no hot water in other rooms? The Porter can offer no resolution. Why is the Manager not contactable. I expect the chairman or CEO to seek answers and perhaps locate the manager.

Where is the corporate representative to promote this brand and resolve this matter.

I'm being ignored and still await some sort of communication and resolution. I'm due to be at business very early in the morning...

stayed here for 2 nights and 2 was more than enough. room was freezing cold on arrival. teas and coffees supplied were minimal. bath tub is so narrow you feel as if folded up even trying to soak properly. this in my opinion is for workmen who have to sleep out on occasion as you could tell from the dirty carpeting in arrival lobby.
when dining with son and daughter in law starters were virtually snatched from us and had to say to young waiter that i hadnt finished.which this idiot then went and sarcastically told other staff members overheard by my son. (disgusting). had to ask for tartar sauce with the surf and turf and the steak was unbelievably tough. never once asked if food was ok or asked if required a refill on my refillable pepsi. this is once they got it right as in pepsi and not pepsi max or diet.
food on 2nd night was a bit more bareable. however the breakfast on departure day was laughable.bacon tasted charrred to within an inch of its life, fried egg was solid, and dont dare ask for a whole mushroom as the chef obviously cuts costs by halfing a flat mushroom.not the usual sense of pride you would get in scotland. the lady who served us had an ok uniform i suppose but absolutely filthy trainers on.

We stayed in a family roo which was very spacious although could do with a lick of paint and a decent carpet clean the room however was quite adequate. The food was not 15 pounds for Beef Dinner which had lesson the plate i would have had at 7 years of age and served cold. The manager handled it well and sorted us out with a refund and we had to get a take away thats was our real only gripe staff where helpful and polite
