Stayed in our caravan with electric hook up. Water for filling the caravan was within just a few steps. Amazing views across the bay and out into the ocean, the sunsets and sunrises have to be seen to be believed. Our dogs were made very welcome and they made it a home from home. Paul and Julie are the kindest and most knowledgeable hosts you can imagine; nothing was too much trouble and were so helpful. The whole site is so lovely with a warm and welcoming feel. We really recommend staying here for the amazing owners, the incredible views and the great facilities. It's quiet, it's magical. We will be back next year . Thank you.

Stayed in the caravan with my 2 children. The caravan is a wee bit dated but very clean and comes with everything you need for a few days 'away from it all'. Although its 2 bedrooms, the smaller bedroom is suitable for small children only, so the caravan is ideal for a couple or a couple with 1 / 2 children. The site is 5 minutes drive from the ferry and easy to find as you drive past the sign, heading north. A little further on is Sinclair's store, which offers everything you need in terms of food etc and was not as overpriced as some island stores are. The site was wonderfully quiet, except for the natural sounds of wind and waves, from the rocky beach , a few metres away from our window. Visit quoyness cairn, the nort island lighthouse and the wonderful heritage centre and just enjoy the peace and wonderful sandy beaches. We will be back. Nice friendly owners too.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Julie & Paul are very friendly & helpful, whilst still respecting guest privacy. The hostel is a good size & the kitchen well equipped. It was great to have a table in the kitchen, which easily seats 4, and 6 at a push. There are lots of electric sockets available & a chair in each room. There is a TV in the kitchen and also in 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The hostel is in s lovely location & Sanday is a beautiful, quiet island with stunning beaches. This was our 2nd trip there, staying at the hostel & we'll be back.

We had booked for a single night but wish we had stayed longer. There are a few spots for campervans, taking a spot on the grass without hookup will sure you a good view over the bay, but we were offered an extension for hookup to get the best of both worlds. The view is great, and the facilities and nice and clean. Sanday is a lovely island and had a crazy number of stunning beaches. If coming back we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Ayres Rock campsite on the waterfront offers amazing views, and I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the sea and the birds. Though when strong winds were forecasted one night, I was lucky that Paul and Julie had a pod available. I was lovely and cozy all night in the pod and woke up feeling fresh and jolly! Owners are absolutely lovely and facilities offer all you need. I highly recommend a visit to Sanday and Ayres Rock.

Julie and Paul could not have been more accommodating and helpful when 3 old duffers from the Isle of Wight turned up on door their step at short notice. I can only recommend the Hostel very highly and the owners are lovely too. The view is also excellent, why wouldn't you? 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a wonderful campsite! We were fortunate enough to get a few days at Ayres Rock on Sanday. Sanday is a beautiful, peaceful island, with an abundance of sanday beaches and wildlife opportunities. And staying at Ayres Rock was lovely - a great little site with good motorhome facilities and a friendly host, plus fabulous views of the bay. Thank you for a great time - we would love to come back again soon!

Stunning location for this site and very warm welcome by Paul and Julie. Our pod was small but very clean and comfortable as were the toilet and kitchen facilities. A lot of work has been done to make this hostel coving safe. We will definitely be back!

The recent four days based at Ayres Rock campsite gave us fantastic cycling on quiet, flat well-surfaced roads. The many sandy bays were a delight. The campsite was very friendly, guests chatted happily at approved distance, very itneresting archaelogy and the facilities were spot on. We saw interesting wildlife and had spectacular sunsets from the site. A linnet singing beside us at breakfast is a rare thing in mainland Britain, curlwe and lapwing swooping overhead, next day it was a whitethroat.
