Achray House is a 4* Restaurant with Rooms set in the heart of Perthshire on the banks of Loch Earn. The highlight of a stay is definitely the food, whether the 6 Course Tasting Menu or the a la carte menu. 2AA Rosette kitchen means the food is all seasonal, freshly prepared and using the best ingredients sourced as locally as possible. The focus in 2024 is wine, and we are working hard on providing an eclectic wine list offering some less seen options alongside some familiar choices. Come with an open mind to food and wine would be our message. We can only cater to dietary requirements / allergies with 48 hours notice. Our menus lend themselves better to pescatarian and g/f or nut free. Vegan and Vegetarian less so. The tasting menu is what it is and we make no changes or substitutes. 10 rooms, 4 pet-friendly. Pet-friendly dining available. Alexa, wireless chargers, coffee machines, top class handmade Scottish bedding and pillows as standard.

Achray House Restaurant With Rooms garners attention for its impeccable cleanliness and well-equipped rooms that boast stunning views, as highlighted by many guests. The hotel's blend of charming tradition with modern comfort creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, which, when combined with its scenic location, is popular for those seeking natural beauty and outdoor pursuits. While the service generally receives high marks for warmth and attentiveness, a few travelers have experienced slower service. Although the value is appreciated in special deals, some reviewers warn that meal costs and portions may detract from the overall value proposition.

We had a fantastic one night stay as a stop off point on our way to go round the Cairngorms and Black Isle at the end of August 2020. The cleanliness and simplicity of the Covid protection was very appreciated and it was nice not to have to wear a mask inside, as we had expected to have to, but still feel safe. We stayed in the small double room (chon) which was a great deal as you got a perfectly fine sized room, especially for a single night, with all the benefits of a top notch hotel for the price of a room in a just average hotel.

We ate in the restaurant that evening and though the prices were fairly well up their it was a fantastic feed. They dealt with my partners Lactose intolerance perfectly and we both really enjoyed our meal.

We then settled in for a few drinks at the small bar which felt comfy and cosy and enjoyed a good chat with both the staff and other guests.

The bedroom was clean with a good sized bathroom and had a nice view from the window of the mountain tops which was fab in the morning sun. The breakfast was delicious and they again dealt with the lactose intolerance well and we were able to both enjoy it.

Would 100% look to return again.

I stayed at the Achray House Hotel for a hiking weekend organised by Laura. The location is stunning and the view of the Loch from my room was beautiful. My room was a great size with lots of little touches like a coffee machine with local coffee and sherry. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I was able to get the bedding changed to hypoallergenic bedding. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing with so much local produce on offer. There was a vegan in our group and Laura did her best to accommodate this after not being given any notice (there isn't a Tesco on the corner to get supplies!). The bar has a great range of whisky and gin for such a small hotel bar.

Husband and I enjoyed a one night stay . Room was clean and provided all we needed for the night. Unfortunately we thought we had to pay £35 per head for a set menu for dinner so we ate elsewhere. However, there was a bar menu and the food looked appetising which was a shame. The dining room looked lovely. Breakfast was delicious and freshly made . No grease in sight . Only one waitress serving but she did a great job. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely return to try food menu. Just a few points probably better for staff not to wear gloves when serving unless they remove them after each task. Better to wash hands. A few too many at the bar at one time .

We had been given itison vouches for the hotel as a Christmas present from our daughters (2 couples) the vouchers were for 1 night so we added a 2nd night at our cost, the hotel was on the east shore of loch earn with views across the loch to the hills on the south shore, our rooms were on the ground floor adjacent to each other and with a garden. The voucher included a g&t with a scone and jam which was a nice welcome . The room was a good size and had all we needed, we ate in the restaurant that evening and found the food to be of a high standard, we would describe it as “pub grub menu with a fine dinning touch”, breakfast was also of a good quality and choice. The hotel was in a great location if you like walks or enjoy water sports as St Fillens is a very small village and not much else to do here.
The hotel describes itself as a “restaurant with rooms” which is a good description of it as there are only 9 rooms.
In summary if you like good food in a very reasonable priced comfortable hotel in a great location with really nice friendly staff you can’t go wrong with the Achray, we will definitely be back.

Cannot wait to return here, hotel is right on the edge of the loch and our room was really lovely, spacious, very comfy and with a great view over the water. Hotel staff were extremely welcoming and the vegetarian food options were fantastic including a veggie tasting menu which is a rare treat. Covid measures in place were extensive, sanitiser all over the place, staff wearing ppe and one-way route in and out.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay with bed and breakfast.
We stayed in the Chon room which although classed as a standard room has everything you need even down to the iron and ironing board.
We ate in the restaurant both nights and food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
The tasting menu was a treat and not something that we would normally do but so glad we did.
Staff were absolutely brilliant and the sevcice exceptional.
A stunning area with lots to see and do within short drive we visited the falls of dochart and Doune Castle.
Given the current times we're in the hotel has clear guides for entry and exit and went over the new guidelines at check in.
We'll definitely be back in the future.

Booked a last minute few nights at Achray House which potentially was not simple as we were ravelling with a dog.
The staff were great and booked us in to a dog friendly room ( I think they have a small wing for dog guests) and told us that we could also take the dog to dinner with us too in the conservatory if we wanted to.

There was a separate dining area for those guests who didn't have dogs.

The room was perfect and did not smell of precious dogs and had direct access to the ground floor to make walking her easy.

The conservatory was perfect for us to have dinner and the staff were lovely with the dog.

The food was also excellent ( Burger and venison were our choices) and the breakfast great quality and big enough to keep us going to dinner.

Overall a lovely place to stay and one I look forward to returning to.

Laura and Panu have really pulled out all the stops with revamping this hotel. This was my second stay at the Achray House Hotel and improvements abound. The highlights are numerous, as well as the excellent locaiton and fantastic views, the excellent quality of the food proves very good value for money, all locally sourced ingredients and if the full Scottish breakfast doesnt take your fancy the overnight baked porridge with a dram on the side certainly wakes you up. The beds and bedding are also very comfortable - exactly what is needed for a good nights sleep, especially after making your way through a very choice stock of local and international whiskies and gins behind the bar!

Just back from a two night stay with friends celebrating his 50th birthday at this excellent hotel with stunning views. Room was clean, warm and had everything we could possibly require, food was delicious, they have a bar with comfortable large sofas to chill in and take in the view. All the staff were friendly and polite, they work so hard to make your stay as relaxed as possible and work long hours and nothing seemed to be an effort for them, we would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to our return.

We booked a dog friendly room direct via the website, the Doine or Dochart were grouped together so we assumed they would be the same. Unfortunately when we saw the room it wasn't as expected and it seems the new up to date bathroom on the photos must be the Doine bathroom as the one in Dochart was outdated and dirty in places. The decorating wasn't of a great standard. On checking in we arrived in reception but there was no one present to check us in so we had to wait. We had the same on check out.
We paid extra for a Loch view but unfortunately this is beyond the car park so primarily you have a view of the car park then the Loch in the background.
Breakfast was OK. We were only offered one drink on sitting down and we had to request milk, sugar and condiments.

The hotel lacked bins outside even though it is dog friendly, which wasn't convenient when taking your dog out to go to the toilet.

Positives were the bed was comfy and the coffee machine in the bedroom was good.

We are so sorry if you feel that we have been self promoting our place through trying to help travellers via sharing information about the places to visit in Perthshire, how to get around Scotland with public transportation or road trip routes in middle Scotland. We haven't self-promoted our hotel on any forum posts, however they are written on our own name and telling openly that we have a hotel in the area, which we know the best.

We stayed last Sunday & had an excellent lunch. We intended just having starters in the evening - there was soup, salmon dish, quiche and salad and either one or two other options. We actually had beautiful main courses and shared the delicious cheese board. However I did overeat! There would be no problem having just starters, the staff are very accommodating. This was our second visit in six weeks, the food is excellent!

Hi Kirsty, Sorry for taking so long to respond to your question: we do have a music system in the bar/restaurant but do not have live entertainment. Unless you reference the Osprey's fishing in the Loch directly in front of the restaurant as live entertainment. I see Jock Regards Brad Sol
