Fantastic B&B - felt very luxurious and a lovely place to stay for a night on our honeymoon whilst cycling the North Coast 500. Secure bike storage which was great and fantastic communication beforehand. Breakfast was fab - cant recommend Mackays enough!

We stayed in a deluxe room at the hotel & it was designed and decorated beautifully, the whole hotel had lovely decor! The room was clean & the beds were comfortable, we had a good nights sleep. The only downside to this stay was check out time being 9:30am, this was the earliest time during our whole NC500 trip and we felt it was way too early & they don’t do evening meals. The breakfast was VERY nice, everything was homemade - the best lemon & poppy seed cake we have tasted!

Had the absolute pleasure of staying in the Cabin for a week and a couple nights in the hotel. Everything about the Mackay's properties is absolutely perfect for a stay in the far North. Fab accommodation; super stylish, yet comfortable; best breakfasts ever; a wonderful thoughtful and caring team and the wilderness on your door-step, what could be better?

This review is for "The House" Durness rather than the McKay Rooms. A great relaxed atmosphere at McKays' "the House." The accommodation was spotless, warm, relaxed and comfortable ~ at the same time as stylish, modern and with designer decor. There was a traditional warm Highland welcome, with many additional little extras which made our time there very special. Attention to detail was evident throughout. The House is well equipped with everything you could possibly need in a home~from~home. Our hosts, and the whole team, so very welcoming, friendly and responsive to any needs. In the current COVID~19 circumstances this abode felt very safe and to secure, with hygiene clearly a top priority. A real find ~ thank you for providing a "safe haven" in our favourite stunning setting.

Stayed there for two nights as part of our NC500 trip and thoroughly enjoyed. The accommodation is beautiful and very stylish. Nice lounge area for guests to enjoy. The staff were also extremely helpful and,as others have commented, the breakfasts are amazing. Would definitely recommend this.
