The scenery from our lodge was just incredible. We overlooked a loch and mountains. It was so nice to sit out on the balcony in the morning and just enjoy the view. The lodge itself is nice and comfortable. We had a three bedroom which also accomodated our two dogs. Their are electric heaters in every room which worked fine to keep the lodge warm. The bathroom was nice and had a bathtub. The kitchen had all the appliances you needed to make a meal. Another frying pan would be helpful. There was also a washing machine and dishwasher. The bed was comfortable the the duvet was really comfortable. Karen was great and greeted us when we first got to the lodge. When we come back to the area, we will book this place. Would recommend!

Great lodge with the most outstanding view. We stayed in woodcutters cabin which was nicely decorated and very comfortable. We liked the balcony outside to sit out when the weather was good. Our two dogs liked it too! I do think for the price it would be good if there were more than 4 of everything in the kitchen so you don’t have to wash up constantly. It would also be nice at over £1000 a week to have some basics like tea/coffee/sugar (most places have them now so the first time I assumed there would be some and didn’t bring my own, typically there wasn’t anything!). The water pressure in the shower was quite weak but I assume this would be the same anywhere nearby. Heating is good and warms up quickly, it was also great to have pans which were big enough to cook a full meal in! We did enjoy our stay and the view was the best part of it really, we’d probably stay again if we come back to the area.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback - we really appreciate it. To answer your point about the tea/coffee, we used to pit it in each lodge, but found it just went to waste as guests preferred to bring their own choices. We appreciate it would be frustrating if you’d been expecting it and that is why we outline exactly what is and isn’t in your lodge by email and on the website. Apologies if this wasn’t clear enough. Thanks for coming and we’re glad you all enjoyed your stay.

I booked this as our first more than one night stop on our NC500 roadtrip. The location is ideal for exploring the northwest tip of Scotland. The accomodation was modern and very comfortable, there is a washing machine that we made use of but sadly mine did not have a dishwasher, but this was not a problem (what are teenager's for?). The only hitch I had was when I plugged in my EV to a slow charger. I had a loud knock on the door and a gentleman saying that this would cause the electrity to trip. I am en electronics engineer, so pointed out that my charger drew less than the kettle in the property. I offered to reduce it from 2kW to 1kW but apparently this wasn't acceptable either because it would be on all the time. I asked if they would feel better about it if I paid extra for the electricity being used, but this wasn't acceptable either. There are nearby charging options, the most convenient if you are going north, less so to the south - but these are very expensive, 70p per kWh (2023) so factor this in. Everywhere else I have stayed has accepted reimbursement for the charging at the normal rate (between 0.28 and 0.38p/kWh). Just to prove that the world wouldn't end if I plugged in, on the last night before departure I did charge overnight as I had a long journey ahead - as expected this was uneventful and the lights didn't go out.

We attempted to visit in 2021 but pandemic prevented. So pleased we finally made it. Stunning location - lodge is perfect (Wee Hideout is fabulous!) And the surrounding area simply breathtaking. Around every corner is another stunning view. We ventured North to Durness. I love golf so playing Durness golf club was an absolute must and is simply incredible for views - good greens and paid via an honesty box! Unforgettable! North West to OldShoremore beach is well worth a visit - beautiful sands and sea bit of course cold and windy! Deserted as a result and felt like our one place! The ‘B’ road from just south of Kylescu to Drumbeg and round coastline to Lochinver is a wiggly single track road that affords beautiful stop off points along the way. Loved that trip! Boat trip on the Loch and end of week meal at the Kylescu Hotel topped everything off. A truly special week and thanks to our host Cath and Mike for keeping us well informed before and during our holiday. This really is the most special part of the world ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😀

We spent an amazing three nights here with family (and our dog). Had been recommended by a friend as "the nicest place we've ever stayed"- they were not wrong. The setting has to be seen to be believed. The lodges are lovely, warm and well equipped and the owners are really helpful, take care of everything. You will feel like you're are the edge of the world!

I’ve visited the West Coast since childhood and this is a top 3 location and experience for me. The lodges have been beautifully updated. The ever changing views of Quinag and the loch amongst the very best. The result is peace, tranquility and inspiration beyond your expectations.

The minimum length of stay here is 3 nights. Mike and Cath who run the lodges had sent an email with excellent information regarding what you would need to bring with you as the lodges are quite remote. On arrival we were met by Mike and shown around our lodge with everything explained to us . The lodge was well appointed - washing machine and dishwasher were very pleasant additions to the kitchen facilities. Although the location of the lodges is quite remote, they were a luxurious haven on the NC500 route.

It was peaceful. A chance to recharge our batteries after a few difficult years. Bereavements, a house move and illnesses to name just some of the issues. We loved the fact that the dog was able to stay with us. It was his holiday too. He loved running on the beaches at Scourie and on the coast near Lochinver. The sea was cold. I know as I paddled in it. We loved just being able to walk out of the lodge and being able to see wildlife. There were several highlights of our week's stay. Deer feeding outside which we could spot from the kitchen window, watching sea eagles over the bay and the lack of midges! It was very windy. However, the positive side of this was this kept the pesky midges away. I had packed plenty of repellent, just to be sure. The lodge was clean and well-equipped. Cath and Mike have worked hard over the last couple of years. Our fridge freezer was not working when we arrived. Mike was able to provide a replacement fridge early the next morning. Thanks, Mike! We had a wonderful Wi-fi connection especially as there are so many mountains in the area.
