Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic place. Only two bedrooms but both are excellent. Brilliant views of Loch Ness from the window , a very comfortable bed and a huge bathroom with the best shower I've ever used. The breakfast was as good as I've tasted and includes home grown and home made items. But most of all our host Simon was warm , friendly and very informative. And by the way the home jam is a taste sensation !

We have just returned from a three night stay. We booked both rooms in the cottage. One for me and my husband and the other one for my brother and sister in law. We were spoilt by Simon and Annie. The rooms are faultless and super clean and Simon makes the best breakfast in Scotland. Annie makes amazing jam and they have their own honey from their hives in the garden which you can taste at breakfast and even buy as a souvenir for family and friends. I would highly recommended the pancakes. Every day we ordered a cooked breakfast with pancakes to finish off. What a treat!!! Simon and Annie are the most welcoming hosts you can imagine. Super helpful and informative. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They really made our break even more memorable. The house has private parking and guests have the use of their own sitting room with a log fire which is always kept on at night by Simon. We always walked into in a lovely, cosy and warm front room when it was freezing or raining outside. I can not emphasise enough how professional and welcoming they both are.

Our last night in Scotland was a real treat staying at the Urquhart Bay B&B. Such a beautiful location with the views of Loch Ness. The room itself was outstanding and Simon's breakfast could not have been nicer. I would love the opportunity to return for a longer stay. A special 'thank you' to Simon for his assistance when my husband and I both encountered travel issues. You went out of your way to help us and your concern was greatly appreciated.

We stayed in the croft as a couple in Jan '22 as a birthday gift from my partner - we loved it here. We were met outdoors on arrival and given some great ideas for local walks. Ticked all the boxes for us - spotlessly clean and modern with all the cooking and cleaning equipment you could need to make use of the fresh eggs provided! Again a lovely and clean bathroom with bath and shower, and a living area with great views over loch ness from the dining area with a fantastic woodburning stove that was great and toasty in the evenings. TV was set-up to log into your own Netflix account if you wish. You could tell the effort that had gone in to make it a great stay for guests. A highlight was a walk beyond the top of the garden in the evening with a hot chocolate to look down at the castle view. We stay away regularly as a couple in the North of Scotland and this will be among out top picks next time we think about going away, thank you!

Lovely B and B. Beautiful views over Loch Ness. Lovely garden with a bee hive and chickens. Only down side for us was that is close to a busy road. Therefore there is some noise from this.Simon directed us to a short walk behind the property with wonderful views

We stayed at Urquhart Bay for 3 nights and had the most wonderful B&B experience - my partner and I are left feeling so inspired! From delicious homemade flapjacks, jams to freshly produced in-season fruits and veg - we couldn’t have asked for more. We looked forward to breakfast every morning as it was so delicious! Simon and Annie were excellent hosts - warm, friendly, and very accommodating. Our room was just perfect - clean and cosy with an incredible view of Loch Ness. The bathroom was spacious, extremely tidy and had a fantastic bathtub as a bonus! Simon was so attentive to our needs, making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay and gave us really good recommendation for walks around the area. We especially enjoyed the walk up the hill behind their house - it was so picturesque (also had a good time saying hello to the chickens in their backyard)! Thank you, Simon, Annie for your hospitality - we really couldn’t have asked for more on our Scotland trip!

Visited this bay at Urquhart to take a boat trip on Loch Ness and around the bay. Brilliant trip booked from the visitor centre and very informative with great views of the castle and Loch. The skipper was a great knowledge and funny too.

It was a delight to stay at this immaculate Bed and Breakfast. Simon and Annie were wonderful hosts, showing the utmost care and consideration during our visit. We chose to have the three-course dinner, as well as breakfast, and loved all the delicious, fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. Our room and ensuite bathroom were incredibly clean and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed walking up the hill behind the house to see a special view of Urquhart Castle. What a super place to stay!

Stayed at the Urquhart Bay for 2 nights (2 adults). Received the most wonderful welcome from Annie and Simon. Room was gorgeous with a fantastic roll top bath, super comfy bed and magnificent views of the Loch. Annie and Simon gave us lots of tips and information on the places we wanted to visit, nothing was too much trouble. Hope to return soon, thanks again for a fantastic break.
