Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An overnight stop for my wife and myself while walking The Great Glen Way. What a lovely conversion of an old church set in lovely extremely well-kept gardens. Fiona, the host, was very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with everything one needed. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended. The Fiddler’s (8 mins walk) is recommended for dinner.

It was wonderful to come back after 24 years and see the same great hosts and listen to the same beautiful music in the breakfast room. Glenkirk is tastefully decorated, the beds are very comfy with top quality linen and towels. We would love to have stayed longer. Thanks for the memories Fiona and Ross.

Very tastefully decorated and clean rooms in a remodeled old church loft. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms had a good amount of space. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We were able to do a load of wash for a few things since we had been walking the Great Glen. Breakfast was lovely and we especially loved the homemade jam!

My friends and I stayed two nights at the Glenkirk B and B while hiking the Great Glen Way. The property is gorgeous. It’s a renovated church and the owner (a carpenter) did all of the woodwork restoration and construction on the building. It’s light, airy, and welcoming. My room had big swing windows and a very comfortable bed. It was wonderful to have the breeze at night and it made using the comforter much nicer. Our group was treated to Fiona’s homemade shortbread, raspberry jam, marmalade and her incredible cooking. One of our party was gluten free and another was nut free—both were accommodated with ease for breakfast. The owners are very kind and went out of their way to make our visit a good experience. We left laundry to dry on the heated towel bar (thanks UK!) and returned to find it folded after it had been put on the line (better to catch the Scottish breeze). Our group used Absolute Escapes for the GGW and they booked the Glenkirk for us. If you are traveling to the Highlands, this is a great find. It’s just a few blocks from the center of Drumnadrochit, a town with friendly people who serve excellent food and are great conversationalists.

Our group of three stayed two nights at this spectacularly comfortable home in a converted church. Fiona and her husband are most gracious hosts! They definitely helped us out with some information about the local area and our walk. Our room was lovely and every detail is attended to. The home made shortbread provided was so good! An excellent breakfast started each day off right. Great place…great memories!

I love the Glenkirk! Ot os a renovated church just off the maim road. Fiona is amazing! So friendly and welcoming. This was my second stay there. The rooms are cozy and cheerful. And her breakfasts are delicious. They are a stone’s throw from Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness. And be sure to make a reservation at Fiddler’s for dinner.

My two night stay here was booked as part of a walking holiday package by a third party company and was a real highlight of the trip (next to the walking of course). The hosts, Fiona & Ross, are two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and couldn’t do enough to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The property, a converted church I believe, oozes character and is somewhere you wouldn’t think twice about spending more time in if the weather was bad and you didn’t want to venture outside. I look forward to spending more time here in the future and only wish it were closer to where I live in the UK.
