My husband and I stayed in the Lovatt room in the abbey our apartment was perfect you could tell that money had been spent on the furnishings it had everything you would need our bed was super comfy you could also get on to the balcony through the bedroom, the abbey has lovely grounds with Loch Ness right on the doorstep with tennis courts and a small play area. Our only disappointment was that the pool and restaurant are both still closed. It is just a sort walk in to fort Augustus which has a selection of places to eat. If I was ever in the area again I would definitely pick the highland club for our stay

We stayed here for 3 days as a family, some facilities unavailable due to easing of Lockdown so we couldn’t use the pool etc. But the apartment was very well equipped, and the bath, shower etc were welcomed after a long hike in Glencoe, comfortable beds. The children made full use of the outdoor space, tennis court, low ropes, space for skating .The building is spectacular and the dinner at the Boathouse which feels like you’re on the water was also superb.

Arrived at School house5 to find central heating not working.reported and supplied with electric heaters ,if used all at once tripped electrics. Then informed that it would be 5 days before fault could be fixed So five days moving heaters from room to room and very little hot water.A comfortable apartment with good facilities but the main talking point will be the living conditions rather than the positive points.

A beautiful peaceful location right on Loch Ness. Very easy check in and lovely apartment, I rented the converted Chapel (St Andrews Chapel). The chapel is stunning! I gave it a 4 star rating as my friends and I found the bed mattress to be hard on our backs.

We have just returned from a family stay at the Highland Club (in apartment Abbey Church 14, managed by Aonach Mor). Everything about the stay was great, including the Club and its grounds, its stunning lochside setting, our apartment and the service from Aonach Mor. The abbey and grounds are pretty stunning, the conversion work is very well done and everything is spotless and well maintained, surely no mean feat with such a large building and so many individual apartments and areas. We were a bit puzzled in advance by the idea of having to book into the swimming pool, but what it meant in practice was that by choosing quiet times, the four of us had the pool to ourselves for an hour each time we used it. So special. Our apartment was really lovely and well appointed, warm and very comfortable. Our two children loved our stay too - it got them both playing chess which can't be bad! - and none of us wanted to come back to reality. Despite there obviously being quite a few guests on the estate, it somehow managed to absorb everyone without ever feeling busy. We'll be back!

Serene, peaceful, a jewel inside and out. Plenty of room for our family of nine...games and activities for children, large windows to soak in the scenery, a playground and the loch's waterfront to throw in stones. Just wish we could've stayed longer. The only negative...as is the case with most pullout sofas, the mattress was uncomfortable.

We stayed in an Aonach Mor Highland Club apartment within the beautifully refurbished St. Benedict's Abbey in Fort Augustus at the southern tip of Loch Lomond - and everything about our visit was truly First Class and 5-Star. The whole complex is stunning, the buildings like something from Harry Potter, the grounds well-equipped and well-maintained, the apartment well-proportioned, well-decorated, well-furnished, with all the comforts of home, including a fully-equipped kitchen, and all in immaculate condition. It should be noted that the apartments are on 4 levels with no lift (probably because of planning restrictions in a listed building), so if stairs are an issue you should try to get the lower levels. Within 2 or 3 minutes of our apartment were a small but well-equipped gym, a small but stunning swimming pool with steam room and sauna, and a full-sized snooker table in a games room which would be fit to host the world championship (unfortunately our snooker wasn't up to the standards of the room, but we still felt like we were playing in the world final !!). There's also indoor and outdoor table tennis, giant chess in the middle of the quadrangle, and the grounds include a full-sized cricket pitch, all-weather tennis court, archery, croquet, boules, and a children's adventure play area - all included with your stay, but you need to book (or wait) for some of them (swimming, tennis...). The Boathouse Restaurant is within the grounds and only a few minutes walk from the main buildings and literally on the southern tip of Loch Ness, with stunning views and a good range of food and drinks. The Abbey is just a 5 minute walk from the bustling centre of Fort Augustus, with a good variety of gift shops and places to eat and drink - the stunning canal locks connecting the Caledonian canal to Loch Ness - and the start of many walking and cycle trails through the highland countryside - as well as sailing trips on the loch. We drove the short distance along the loch side to Castle Urquhart, with stunning views from the road and from the ruins themselves once we got there - exactly what people come to see in Scotland and the Highlands. We had also booked a clay-pigeon shooting trip which took us up into some of the local hills, with outstanding views of the loch and the surrounding area - and it was great fun as well as highly picturesque...….. I don't have a negative word to say about our Highland Club stay - it was 5-Star from start to finish and I can't recommend it too highly. The accommodation and facilities are excellent, as is the location, and the more you do the more you will enjoy it. And to round our excellent stay off, we were barely out of Fort Augustus on our way home when we passed 3 magnificent stags with full sets of antlers in a field by the side of the road - and they even posed for photos before running off into the trees - the perfect end to a perfect visit ! Peter Gardner.

A professional and prompt friendly service coupled with fantastic accommodation in a beautiful area. The swimming pool, the gym, the tennis court, the Club Lounge, breathtaking scenery and plenty of places to eat in the village - which is only a few minutes walk away. We were given a guided tour of the Abbey and plenty of advice on what to do in the area and the nuances of our cottage by the excellent Simon Canning. Pet friendly and child friendly, I thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here for a few nights and we're so glad that we did. The apartment has everything you need for self catering. Kitchen was fully equipped and everything was clean and tidy throughout. Loved our welcoming chocolate cookies! The abbey itself is stunning and has a fantastic swimming pool which we used. The apartment is situated in a quiet environment area away from the roads and just off the edge of Loch Ness. There is plenty of parking right outside so perfect if arriving by car with lots of luggage like us! Would definitely stay here again soon!
