Stayed for 3 nights, we had 2 rooms as our daughter and partner from Australia were travelling with us. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities supplied and a very good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was fine with a selection of cereals, bread for toasting, sausage, bacon, egg and beans. There was always one of the guys around making sure you had plenty of tea and coffee. I would have given them five stars but for a couple of things. The towels leave a bit to be desired, we were supplied with 2 small bath towels and one hand towel, we felt this was not adequate. There seemed to be no central heating and a small plug in radiator was supplied and while it did the job one wheel was broken. Generally the place was looking tired, mostly just a coat of paint required in some places and some pictures in the bedrooms would make the world of difference.

Really great B&B. Easy self check-in (information provided by the owner through booking.com app), ample parking (at the front and rear) and in a good location to walk to the nearby pubs, restaurants and canal. Room was clean, included a TV, tea/coffee making facilities and a good sized bathroom. Bed was very comfy. The towels were a bit on the small size (more like a hand towel) Good choice at breakfast, including eggs to order. Would strongly recommend!

There are some great positives for the White House. It’s close to the centre of Fort Augustus, it has plenty parking space and our family room (double and single beds) on the first floor was very fancy! The jacuzzi was brilliant! On the down side… Check in is done on line, with no human contact, no one to welcome us or tell us where everything was - and as we had no communication before we got there (although we did arrive a bit earlier than we’d expected), we were left hanging around outside with no one answering the door. Eventually a text to Alistair meant we were told to walk in through the unlocked back door and up to a specific room (key in the door). All a bit bizarre… We were asked - again by text - what time we wanted breakfast. The breakfast was fine all laid out on heated plates for self service. But the eggs and the porridge only arrived after we’d nearly finished. There was a lady server who brought tea/coffee and she was very pleasant. And although our room was very smart, the only toiletry was in a wall mounted container in the shower/jacuzzi. This was first place we’d had no toiletries. And the towels were not as smart as the room warranted. Check out is just to leave your key in a basket in the hall. There was nothing bad about the White House. It just lacked the human touch and attention to detail.

Spent a few nights here while visiting the area. Strange set up for check in, but it worked for me, I don't like small talk. Room was large, well appointed and tastefully decorated. No. Wardrobe, but I didn't mind, enough space to hang stuff on the hangers provided. Bathroom was nice with an amazing shower. Bed was comfortable and we both slept well. Breakfast was self service, tea and coffee offered, plenty choice for me. Cereal, porridge, bread for toasting, hot items, spreads and jams, and juices. Would return in a heartbeat if we visit the area again., and would recommend to friends.

My family and I stayed here for two night in room 5. I initially booked via email with a man called Alistair. I don’t know if the place has changed hands, but it was Ricky who sent a text message at midday of the day we were due to arrive. It stated that they were doing self check ins and gave details of how to get to our room through an unsecured patio door at the rear of the property. We arrived later that afternoon and parked (there was ample parking which was a positive) and duly let ourselves in and into the room. I didn’t like the lack of proper welcome by the owners/ hosts. This was the 4th place we had stayed in on our Scotland road trip and all the other hosts had welcomed us to their establishment. There was no information pack in the room either. On a positive note, the room was spacious and the tea and coffee tray way very well stocked. The bathroom was spacious with a jacuzzi bath and lovely lit and heated mirror. However, there was cheap Aldi hand soap on the sink and similar shower gel in a dispenser on the wall by the sink. No nice toiletries. Furthermore, the bedding wasn’t the nicest and my son found a discarded sweet under one of the beds. The pillows were flat too and towels felt old and seemed fusty after one use. However, the room temperature was pleasant and it was quiet. We were asked to text Ricky with the time that we wanted for breakfast. We chose 8.30 and went downstairs bang on time to the breakfast room. There were no tables to seat three and no staff to ask. We waited a while and then my partner had to knock on their door to let them know we were waiting. Ricky asked his wife (no idea of her name as she didn’t introduce herself or even welcome us to the B&B!) to come through and she made up a table for us. The only time we were spoken to was to ask us whether we wanted tea or coffee. We didn’t see Ricky at all apart from to bring through more bacon. No one took the trouble to talk to us, ask if we had had a good sleep etc etc. Breakfast was lacklustre to say the least. The hot food (scrambled egg, bacon, sausages and beans) was brought through and left in a heat tray. I had to ask for white bread for my toast, which she did bring through. The yoghurt was cheap Lidl own (as was the white bread). We were still eating breakfast when a group of people traipsed through with their walking gear and bags. Why people aren’t able to use the front door I don’t know as this made us uncomfortable as we were trying to eat. After a day out, we arrived back to find the tea and coffee has been replenished and bin emptied. No effort had been made to tidy the bed and the carpet was dirty so I had to text to ask for it to be hoovered. After the second breakfast, which was the same experience as the first (apart from a table was ready for us this time) we were glad to leave. Again, check out was simply ‘put your key in the basket at the bottom of the stairs!’ No-one said thank you for staying or have a nice journey or anything. My partner rang up before our stay to see if we could pay off our bill before we stayed, but we’re told it was cash on arrival as they don’t have card facilities. Unfortunately, the positives of the spacious room and great location were marred by the lack of general attention to detail and lack of any sort of welcome from the hosts. I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you just want a room and leaving alone during your stay.

A lovely B and B for a weekend in Fort Augustus - the room was spotless, bed comfy, lovely view from the room, netflix and other streaming services in the room, amazing bathroom with a great shower and two sinks. Breakfast was lovely with lots of variety and top ups of tea and coffee! Only improvement would have been a slightly firmer pillow on bed, but that’s it 😊

Easy check in instructions emailed prior to arrival. We stayed in room 8 at the top. Nice big spacious room, shower was excellent, good facilities provided in the room and the fan was very useful in the heatwave! Very friendly gentleman greeted us at breakfast to bring us tea or coffee and great selection for breakfast provided too. Great location, only a 5 minute walk or less to the town centre. Would recommend 👌

Stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon. The room was big and the shower was one of the best I’ve seen! Bed and room comfortable. No wardrobe just a few hangers on a rail. It didn’t bother us but it might bother others. Owner was good on communication. A few minutes walk from the village which has lots to see and do. The stay was let down by the breakfast. We were asked could we come at 0915 the first morning as they couldn’t have too many people in the breakfast room at one time. That suited us however when we arrived several tables hadn’t been cleaned, and there was only a small selection of food available. Another couple had been sitting there for over 20 minutes waiting to be served with coffee and for the hot selection to be replenished. They hadn’t seen one member of staff in that time. On our second morning we asked to go down earlier than the usual time as we had an early bus to catch, they accommodated this but again not much selection available and we only saw a member of staff briefly who quickly disappeared. Would consider staying here again if they improved on the breakfast scenario! What we had was ok but only cereal and toast readily available.

Last minute night away in Fort Augustus and we found this great guest house . Excellent location just a couple of minutes walk in to the village . The room (6) was large and spotlessly clean with lovely views of the village . We both agreed that we would like to take the bed home as it was that comfy . Lovely modern furniture with plenty space for your gear . Now for the bathroom wow again spotless and modern and had the best shower ever , it was one of those large walk in types and when I pushed some buttons it felt like I was in a washing machine hahahha water coming from everywhere and the pressure was the most powerful I’ve ever experienced. After our great night’s sleep we had a very tasty breakfast served by Ricky (owner) who I have to say is very friendly and helpful nothing a bother at all . We look forward to our next visit already .
