Amazing place to stay!!!! We stayed there only one night but everything has been perfect. Very clean and organized! The breakfast was great and served by a friendly and disposable manager. We felt very well welcomed and he gave us information about the activities to do and places to see. I want Higley Recommend that B&B. 🤩💯
We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Fort Augustus, we had a cruise of Loch Ness booked during the day and checked in to The White House after. I really enjoyed my stay here, I loved the tartan Capet on the stairs and overall felt the place was very cosy and welcoming. The room we had for the 3 of us was very spacious and the bathroom was stunning, My 13 year old daughter loved the hot tub style bath and was straight in as soon as she seen it. The location of the The White House is great and literally takes 2-3 mins to get to the canal, we walked down and had food from the chip shop and a few drinks in the outdoor area of the pub beside the canal. The bed was really comfortable and we had a good nights sleep, breakfast in the morning was really nice, plenty to choose from and Alistair the host could not have been nicer, he popped in and out and made sure we had everything we needed, his knowledge of local area was great and gave us some tips for our next location. I would stay here again if visiting the area…
I don't really write bad reviews but unfortunately this place needs to be flagged. Seriously clean your sheets. Or better still just buy some new ones. The breakfast is mediocre (not cooked to order) and the ingredients are poor. On the positive side the shower was good and the b&b is located near the centre of the town. But overall stay somewhere else.
My wife and I booked The White House based on the mainly the previous positive reviews, we decided to ignore the few negative ones thinking they were in the minority. However be aware the negative reviews are on point. I don’t know where to start, all I will say is we walked in and upto the room and about turned and left.
Perfect for families or couples, Alasdair was a fantastic host. Within a 2 minute walk of the lock you will not be disappointed. Breakfast was brilliant and homely. They also cater for any intolerances or food allergies. I can’t recommend this B&B enough!
