I chose this B+B because the owners sounded wildlife friendly and dog friendly - they're that and more! Red squirrel on the feeders as I arrived, loads of birds to watch while enjoying the fabulous breakfasts (have the kippers, they're great!), pine martens on my camera trap that the owners were happy to let me set up. A wee dram to welcome you, comfortable rooms, great walks from the doorstep, lovely hosts, v good packed lunches. Go and stay here - it's lovely.
Arrived at end of day 3 of our GGW walk after 20+ miles in the rain and the guest house was such welcoming sight the ladies doing a great job of explaining the covid restrictions and we felt very safe in regards to this the place is spotless. Breakfast was a special treat and I the enjoyed kippers (recommend) , the breakfast served in a lovely friendly room where we saw hundreds of birds on the feeders. The owners dogs stole the show and reminded us how much we are missing this in our lives, think we may be back next year with a furry friend of own which I am sure they would welcome.. Thank you.
Lovely place to stay thank you both so much, on holiday with a excited spaniel is not always so welcomed but your lovely bb was perfect. Enjoyed our chats this morning over the most delicious breakfast I just hope Allan is not expecting this when we get home! Rooms are spotless, cosy and the little dram of whisky went down well before bed soothing our weary joints. Thanks again. Lisa, Allan & Archie
Denise and I and our 2 black labs stayed 2 nights on our way south from the highlands Craik Na Dav is in a lovely location just 2 minutes walk to Invermoriston and at the foot of part of the Caledonian way, its really dog friendly with dog beds in. the room and a little tub of dog biscuits as well as a dram of whiskey for us, the hosts where great very chatty and welcoming and the breakfast was super some people might not like the one big table for guests to share at breakfast but we enjoyed our chat with the fellow guests over are morning coffee or tea, this is a great place to set up base to discover the surrounding area would highly recommend it
Booking Booking was extremely with great communication via telephone and email, the hosts are very responsive. Arrival We arrived just after 4pm as this is what the hosts Manda and Lyndsey had requested, we was greeted warmly and had a brief chat and showed to our room, everything was explained to us about regarding breakfast etc and what was available! We was offered extra pillows and a blanket which we accepted. At the main entrance there is hand santiser and we wore our masks when in the public areas. Room The room was not huge but it was an adequate size for us and our two dogs, in the room was two dogs beds and some biscuits which was an added bonus, our bed was comfortable with nice bedding and comfy pillows and lovely fluffy towels. Tea, coffee, and a wee dram and biscuits which was a lovely little treat, Manda did say if we needed anything to ask. The room was lovely and clean and you could leave the window open as it did get hot and it had a mesh over the window to stop flys and midges getting in which was brilliant! Bathroom The ensuite had a shower with a great power shower and tons of hot water, it was quite big but you had to be careful with the sloping ceiling, it didnt bother us but if you was extra tall you would need to be careful. The floor was a little slippy but we just walked on the bathmat all the time. Breakfast Breakfast was served in the lounge on a big table which we shared with other guests that didnt bother us at all and the hosts introduced guests to each other which was nice. Breakfast is on a pre-order system which suited us fine, it was fresh and cooked to perfection. Cereals was avaialble and youghurts, toast, lots of tea, coffee and fruit juice, nothing was too much trouble, there was a screen at the breakast table to seperate us from the other guests and the hosts wore masks during the service. Hosts are very chatty and really nice and makes your breakfast more enjoyable. Eating Out & Location If your eating out then book ahead due to covid-19 and reduced tables and it being a popular area then you definetly need to book otherwise you wont get to eat anywhere. We booked the Invermoriston Hotel, its good food but pricey. Pricing We paid £95 per night for bed and breakfast for two adults and two dogs which is good value - there was a lot more in that area more expensive but you probably wouldnt get value for money. Overall I would highly recommend Craik Na Dav its got great hosts and the place is situated in a great place to explore the area. its great value for money, the hosts are more than welcoming and have a great knowledge of the area, they cant do enough for you and make you and your dogs very welcome. Lovely place, dog friendly, great breakfast, would highly recommend this place and would definetly return.…
