A dream of a place, far away from everyday life. We had a wonderful time, and so did our dog, Scruff. Your hosts are welcoming and friendly, and the welcome pack of shortbread, brownies and jam is a lovely touch. The chalet was spotlessly clean, very important these days, and everything you can think of is provided, from cooking equipment to a tumble dryer. The local stores have a huge range of goods considering the area is so remote, but because of that they are somewhat expensive! Had the following conversation with one store owner: "do you sell frying pans' 'No, you're staying at Port Beag Chalet's i take it? "er, yes" "they are in a drawer under the oven!" clearly she has insider knowledge!!! So helpful! We will be back! This place is heaven on earth!

We stayed in the Rowan chalet which is situated on its own. We loved every minute of our stay. The view across to the summer isles is fantastic. We saw seals at the rocks just down from the chalet, they were there nearly every day. There is a shop and a pub close by. The chalet itself was very clean. It is dog friendly and you wouldn't have known that any dog had ever been there. We appreciated the dog biscuits that were there on arrival for our dogs, and even better, there were delicious brownies for us made by Linda. Linda came to visit us on arrival to make sure everything was ok and she said we could contact her if we needed anything, this was very much appreciated. There were maps and tourist information in the chalet which was a big help if you don't know the area. The bed was comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. The kitchen is well equipped, everything is modern. Little things like cooking oil, salt, dish towels, cloths etc were an added bonus. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely go back

Fantastic location for a dog friendly get away with friends. Amazing views, beaches & lots of beautiful walks, hikes & munros close by. The chalet was very well equipped, cosy & clean. Outside furniture a bonus too. Everything we needed was right there. Good starter of cleaning essentials & some delicious treats left for us by the owner. Brownies were amazing! We will definitely be back. Tip - frying pan can be found in the shallow drawer under the oven. Tip - Am Fuaran Bar is not dog friendly inside sadly, recommend booking Summer Isles Hotel for bar food with dogs as it's small & very busy. Tip - If you want fresh langoustine you can order the campsite shop although need to prep & cook yourself.

The chalets are beautifully positioned, with gorgeous views out to sea. This is an amazing place to come and relax. The chalets are light and spacious and each has a fantastic balcony, perfect for a chilled out breakfast or a late night cuppa listening to the sea and watching the waves. On a clear day you can see Lewis. Due to the lack of light pollution, it's a great spot for meteor and Milky Way spotting. The owners live opposite and are always very welcoming, and quick to respond if needed. There is a fab pub a few minutes' walk away and there are several local shops within easy reach, as well as stunning beaches and amazing mountains. Daytime boat trips to the Summer Isles and canoeing adventures on local lakes are easy to arrange. There is so much to do here - we've been coming up here for years and there is always something new! Very highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay in the chalets in Altandhu. The property is absolutely ideal for families, situated beautifully and we were so well looked after by Linda. Would highly recommend staying here. Linda recommended a local boat tour, walks and we managed to get fresh lobsters from Achiltibuie stores. My only reservation in writing this review is I don’t want everyone to know about this gem of a place.

An exceptional place to gather with friends/family to share the outdoors. world class geopark on the doorstep with endless adventures, amidst spectacular scenery - ever changing skies, water and landscape. no matter the weather - walks, swims, cycles, kayaks - we all feel very lucky to stay here. Everything about the cabins is geared to simple, peaceful relaxation with a generous helping of Scottish hospitality. Staying in Port Beag Chalets is a large slice of heaven :)

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful area. Glorious views and peace and quiet. The chalet was well equipped with good quality outside furniture on the terrace which wound around the chalet. We were very lucky with the weather but I would think the chalet would be cosy even in bad.

Lovely chalet in a fantastic location. Scenery is spectacular, we felt we were in another world. The chalet itself was perfect with everything you need for a self catering stay and very friendly welcome upon arrival when we received various tips and advice.

We've spent a week at Port Beag Chalets many times since our first visit in about 1976 and we have never been disappointed. Much has changed over the years, but only in the right way: every time we go, something has been updated or improved. This year, it was wonderful wi-fi and smart TV (not normally important, but the weather was a bit disappointing this time). We stayed in "Larch" a few times in the late 70's, but now we rent Rowan, which is the only one of the original chalets left: it can be windy sometimes! Newer and bigger chalets are now available, but Rowan is our favourite and has always been updated year on year: we can't think of anything to suggest by way of improvement. This year, with Covid, all measures were in place for us to have a safe holiday and for the staff servicing the chalet after we left to be safe too.
