Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thought this was a really nice campsite. Relatively small and quiet beside the river. Facilities were basic, but very clean and worked well. Gated entry which is good as you know really only people on the campsite have access. Owner couple were very friendly and nice. Mix of a few tents with mainly campervans when we stayed. We stayed for 4 nights, but most seem to be touring and just stay the night. Shop just outside campsite sells what you need, and can go up the road to the fancy Coul House hotel if you want a nice meal or drink. Definitely be back here if visiting the area.

Lovely place to stay. Really comfy and clean and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely visit here again. We stayed in a bell tent for the weekend and it had everything you needed inside of it, even things like utensils, hairdryer and plastic Tupperware. They even had a George Forman, and an electric hob. All other campers were friendly, it was a really peaceful atmosphere and easy to get to Loch Ness from.

We recently spent two nights at riverside caravan park. The weather was awful very wet but Clare who was looking after the site while the owners were away is doing a great job of looking after the place. Clare was very friendly and helpful. The camp itself is quite basic but catered for our needs. I would recommend the site for a stop over.

Booked through a national company, we were travelling from Surrey with a stop over break in the Lake District, due to leave at 6.30 am , picked up e mail at 10.30 the night before ,said there was an issue with booking. Finally got through to office at 9am booking was cancelled without any reason or explanation by the owners. Two distraught children , we had already had holiday to Croatia cancelled because of uncertainty. Disgraceful way to treat people especially in a year that has been so problamatic. Company finally found another accommodation only to have that one cancelled after travelling up to lakes. This one said couldn't find cleaner.!!!! Really !!!!

We have stayed here twice in our tourer caravan and can't wait to go back again. This beautiful gem of a site is set on the Blackwater River and is surrounded by lovely scenery. The owners a very welcoming and friendly and the site is well maintained and very clean. With the changeable weather in Scotland it is certainly well placed for travelling. We could easily go in what ever direction the weather was best. Its great for those wanting to bag the munros as there are many within easy reach but what we like most was sitting by the river, watching the birds, including red kits flying above the site and using the sites fire pits in the evening. The owners Deborah and Martyn gave us lots of advice on places to visit.

Always have an amazing time at Riverside chalets. The staff are extremely friendly and down to earth. Not to mention the view from the campsite is unrivalled. The location is also perfect for anyone planning to stopover during the NC500.

We loved our stay here! The owners are really friendly and made us feel safe as they kept to COVID-19 regulations. The basic facilities were closed but we were made aware of this beforehand so that was not an issue (I think you can request to use them before you arrive but we had our own in our caravan). We would recommend this site as we really enjoyed our stay here.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the campsite. The owners were friendly and very pleasant. The view was beautiful and we were able to spot all sorts of wildlife. Clean and tidy site with areas reserved for wildlife. Toilets were closed but we were warned this would be the case in advance.

This is a lovely site either for an overnight stopover on the NC500 or like ourselves an extended break. All grass pitches on the riverside small play area for children fire pits or just sit on the riverside, catch and release fishing is allowed on site and if the river is low paddling for children is safe. There is a shop at the entrance to the campsite. Toilets are limited at the moment due to covid. The owners keep the site well maintained if you are looking for a quiet site this is it.

Great service from the lovely couple running the site. Lovely, quiet setting and a great location. I camped for a few nights and did some walking locally. The washroom facilities are simple but very clean. I’ll happily stay again when in the area.
