Piersland House Hotel garners commendation for its pristine cleanliness and the warm, inviting aura it exudes, with guests often highlighting the hotel's tasteful decor and amiable staff. Nestled in a serene and picturesque locale, it's a favored choice for romantic getaways.
The hotel's amenities, including the delectable cuisine and beautifully landscaped gardens, receive consistent praise, although opinions on value for money vary, with some concerns over drink prices and seasonal rates. While the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and cleanliness, a few guests note they can sometimes be on the smaller, darker side.

Over the years we have stayed at most of the hotels in Troon and this was our first visit to the Piersland. It is certainly up there with the best of them and we had a very enjoyable 2 night stay.
The staff throughout the hotel always greeted you with a smile and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated.
We ate in the hotel on both nights and the quality and presentation of the food was first class. What was evident in the restaurant was the significant number of diners who were not residents in the hotel which is testament to the quality of food served up by the talented kitchen team. Breakfast was equally tasty with a good selection of cold dishes and an excellent menu choice of cooked breakfast items. What we particularly enjoyed was the availability of breakfast rolls which is not something you see in many hotels.
We will certainly return to the Piersland Hotel and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to potential guests.

We stayed here for one night as part of our touring holiday of Scotland. We booked a package that included dinner on the first night which we felt represented good value. Our room was one of the lodge rooms in a separate annex at the front of the hotel grounds. Care had been taken to plant out a pretty garden area overlooking the bedroom which was much nicer than the ‘view’ from other places we stayed at. The room was furnished stylishly and was comfortable - perhaps a tad too much furniture for the size of the room. The bathroom was lovely. In room amenities were good, including a generous hospitality tray, water & robes. We liked being able to wheel our cases to the room along a walkway from the car parking spaces next to the lodge rooms; so for a one night stay it was perfect. We were very impressed with options for our inclusive dinner - there was a 3 course menu available or we could have £30 credit against the a La carte menu, and coffee too. The meal was delicious and the restaurant had a lively vibe making a really nice dining experience. By comparison, breakfast felt a little less special. It wasn’t bad by any means but was self service including tea and coffee from machines with standard hot dishes cooked to order. We felt Piersland was an excellent choice of hotel before leaving the next day for the ferry to the Isle of Arran.

My husband and I stayed two nights as we were attending a wedding in another hotel nearby. We upgraded to a superior room which was absolutely beautiful and well worth the extra money. It felt very luxurious! Our friends stayed in the more expensive hotel where the wedding was taking place and our room was much nicer and far better value. Every member of staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They really made us feel welcome and made our stay extra special. We had dinner in the hotel which was absolutely delicious. I loved every course. Breakfast was also spot on. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Thank you.

This was our third visit to Piersland, the first two were 2 night stays with Dinner and two Breakfasts. This time we had an overnight stay with Dinner and Breakfast which again was good value. Piersland is a very interesting architectural hotel surrounded by lovely flower beds and greenery and you can sit outside and admire it all. We have sampled the different accommodation each time, the first being a twin room within the Hotel which was very spacious and comfortable, the second time we were in one of the Mews which we liked very much and this time we were in one of the Lodges. The Lodge was within the grounds of the Hotel where they serve dinner and it was very nicely decorated, clean and the beds were very comfortable so no complaints about anything. The food has always been great as has the service. So CHEERS to all the staff and many thanks for making us feel so welcome.

The house is really beautiful with lovely grounds, particularly sitting on the terrace in the sunshine. I stayed in the mews, not the most modern decor but very clean and the separate living room space was great. All facilities were perfect, only improvement could be slightly better lighting. Tea, coffee, water, biscuits, as well as shampoo, shower gel and soap were provided. I stayed with my six-month old and the hotel provided a travel cot and also took delivery of a package of formula in advance of my arrival which was very helpful. The bar / restaurant is really nice and the food great. Breakfast had a continental buffet with fruit, toast, yoghurts, muffins, etc. and they also provided a cooked breakfast with vegetarian option (great eggs!). All staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall would highly recommend.

First class from start to finish. Staff were terrific and very friendly. Rooms (we were in the Lodge rooms) were spotless and had everything you would need. Food was delicious and it was great value. I've stayed here numerous times but it just keeps getting better and better. We'll be back....

Excellent Stay exceptional staff friendly and efficient, unusual to get both at the same time. Our stay was over two nights as we were attending a wedding locally. We were an extended party over 5 couple Piersland house was our bas. The group had dinner on the Friday evening The menu was comprehensive and suited all our tastes and dietary needs. Some made their reservations through booking sites others booked direct worth checking both for a deal. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing few days away.

Piersland was highly recommended for a Christmas stay. By the time my sister tried to book there were no rooms left so she ended up at the Marine Hotel across the street (important for later).
The good: •The rooms were very small but immaculately clean. •The staff were absolutely outstandingly friendly and helpful. •Breakfast was fine •Christmas dinner is served in sittings. Given the banquet style menu the food was actually pretty good.
The bad: •We didn't realise that the lodge rooms were not actually in the main hotel but in a little block across the parking lot, a bit like a motel, right on the road side.
•While the hotel itself was decorated for Christmas, there was nary a sprig of holly, a strand of tinsel, nor a twinkly light anywhere around the "lodge" rooms. The hotel we visited after the Piersland looked like the Christmas Fairy had thrown up all over the place - it was delightful. On Christmas morning across the street at the Marine, my sister discovered a little stocking on her door with a coupe of splits of prosecco and some chocolate.
•There were no robes nor, more importantly slippers in the room. It would appear that you have to pay an additional $27 for this facility. It's a long time since I've stayed in a hotel with no complimentary slippers.
•There was no cosy place to congregate with family to open gifts (Marine's bar has lovely sitting areas with comfy sofas)
•We went to the bar for a cocktail before Christmas dinner. The bar was a hot mess, tables had not been cleared and people had obviously been moving tables and chairs around so it was difficult to navigate to an empty table for our elderly family member.
This experience has put us off ever doing Christmas in a hotel again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry you found your experience at our hotel unsatisfactory. Our range of room types are detailed on our website with many guests opting for a Mews or Lodge outside of the main hotel building. We prefer to decorate the hotel in keeping with the style of the hotel, i.e., not over powering our unique features in our listed building. Christmas is an extremely popular time for our hotel and staff, with many repeat visitors booking for 2024 in 2023. Once again, we are sorry your experience was not as expected.

We stayed in a Mews room #25. Whilst the bedroom is relatively small, the separate lounge made it a good accommodation. We took the 2 night package with £50 dinner allowance on the first night. Excellent value at £265. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room nice and clean. There is no A/C but despite the day temperature being in the low to mid 20s the room was comfortable at night with the hopper windows open. The bathroom is compact but manageable. I did comment to the staff that the shower curtain needs to be heavier material as it constantly wafts in and clings to your body. The food was absolutely lovely, with an extensive amount of choice and all vert reasonably priced. We couldn't get over how quick and efficient the service was. The location is excellent for accessing the beach and I enjoyed early morning walks around the world famous Royal Troon golf course and back along the beach. Could have stayed longer but child care duties beckoned. We will definitely return in the future. I hope they do address that niggling shower curtain matter. Overall, thank you Piersland.

We had one of the little cottages behind the hotel which was perfect. The bedroom was small but sufficient as we had a separate living room with a 2 seater setee, chair, desk/dressing table and a flat screen tv. Both rooms had windows with little windows at the top which could be left open which was perfect for ventilation. The bathroom was off the bedroom and had a bath with shower over. Great power shower. For the rating of the hotel it was excellent. If we called reception for ice or clean towels they arrived within 10 mins. No cocktails in the bar but a good range of wines and spirits. We had a deal of dinner bed and breakfast (dinner on first night only) and although the choice was limited compared to the full dinner menu there was a good selection. The fish was no longer available so they gave us another fish dish from the main menu. Staff friendly and versatile. I felt save during COVID as the rooms were clean on arrival as were the reception areas and outdoor seating area, bar, restaurant and public areas. Everyone there stuck to the rules. i liked that you could park in front of the hotel or outside the cottages so we could see our car but it was perfectly secure in the grounds and parking was free. Our friends stayed in a room in the hotel which was a big bedroom and their bathroom had a separate bath and shower and the decor was more modern. Excellent value and we had a wonderful weekend. It was a short walk into the centre too for shops or to the beach. We got a taxi into town for dinner and the hotel booked it for us which arrived quickly.

I believe there is an outdoor swing park. The hotel is five minutes from the beach with lots for children to do. I would have taken my children there when they were younger. It's lovely.

There is a row of mews rooms behind the hotel. I believe dogs are allowed there but you would be best to check with the hotel. We love this hotel for its food and friendly staff.
