Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service was amazing. Margaret, organising the lunches, helped us to completely surprise our uncle as special guests at his 80th birthday lunch. Her organising skills and professionalism are impressive. She created a perfect atmosphere for happy guests and a very happy birthday boy. Thank you! The young brunette lady at the breakfast room always made us feel so welcome and she also is a credit to the hotel. When we asked Martin behind the lounge bar to take a photo, he added logs to the fire and waited for the flames to rise to make the photo more special. What a top class hospitality and an amazing attention to details! Complements to the chefs! We love your cuisine ! We look forward to being back.

First class from start to finish. Staff were terrific and very friendly. Rooms (we were in the Lodge rooms) were spotless and had everything you would need. Food was delicious and it was great value. I've stayed here numerous times but it just keeps getting better and better. We'll be back....

Stunning hotel, beautiful grounds. We booked a room but when we arrived we were given a mews cottage set in the hotel grounds. Spacious room. Bathroom. Lounge area. Main hotel is absolutely beautiful, had breakfast, dinner and drinks in here. Would definitely return, staff were very attentive. Wonderful experience

Another great stay at Piersland. We stayed in a lodge which was excellent. Dinner on the first night was excellent too. Some of the hotel was unavailable due to building and decoration work but we do understand that such work has to be done sometime Two small points - the black pudding was very salty ( I did not finish it) and the coffee after dinner was very stewed We will come again

Onenight in standard room & dinner. Lovely, quiet hotel and comfortable room. Staff were good and restaurant staff especially. 3 course dinner was good value and food was delicious. Breakfast was good start to day but why no square sausage.

Booked here for a 1 night getaway. Stayed in the Lodge area, room was great for what we paid and the bed is probably the comfiest I've ever experienced at a hotel. Great little bar area with bar staff making cocktails to request. We are on the restaurant too and couldn't fault the food or service. Well done Piersland Hotel!

Second stay at Piersland House. Food and accommodation excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed in the main house rather than the lodges. Received everything we expected having read offer details when booking. All delightful. Much prefer the traditional grandeur and cosiness of this fine hotel to the much larger Marine Hotel across the road. Perfect break in the middle of bleak January.

Yet another outstanding visit to our firm favourite. I've had family links to this hotel for over 50 years; Weddings (including mine), funerals, family get-tegethers, the works. The Piersland hotel deliver an incredibly high standard of service at all times. The food was freshly cooked, delicious and hot; a great choice at the breakfast buffet; and small accommodations were made with no bother whatsover. Friendly and welcoming staff - the core team doesn't seem to change much which is great to see. Just a joy to visit. We personally prefer the privacy of the mews cottages; warm and cosy, huge comfortable beds and a decent shower. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. Plenty of parking - it has it all. Many thanks and well done to all x
