We stayed for one night at this hotel, travelling as a family of four with our two adult daughters. We booked two rooms - one garden room and a twin room for our daughters. From the moment we passed through the gates of the hotel the whole experience was magical. The grounds and castle were stunning. Our rooms were beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was delightful. We had lunch on arrival and had an amazing 7 course tasting menu for dinner. Every course was stunning and we were so grateful for the vegan version which was created for our younger daughter. My husband and daughters enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds and availed themselves of the wellies and coats that made sure they were protected from the weather. Both our daughters had a massage which they thoroughly enjoyed and there was an array of activities that we could have taken part in, were we staying longer. Our only regret was that we weren’t staying more than one night. We had travelled 4 hours to the region to visit family, which didn’t go to plan due to illness on their part, but the hotel stay made it more than worth the journey nonetheless. It was an absolute treat from moment of arrival until check out and we will definitely be back - this time for longer!

Leave your cell phone at home and let time stand still! This is a wonderful place to relax and escape from the stresses of everyday life. Directions are essential as you won’t see a single sign to guide you to the electric gates nestling at the entrance to this oasis of calm. The castle grounds offer delightful woodland walks and sea views, together with walled gardens, fish ponds and a small art gallery of local paintings. The warm welcome by staff ensures a seamless transfer to beautifully appointed accommodations with en-suite bathrooms and high end toiletries. No ask of staff is too much. Dinner is first rate with delirious canapés, followed by either 3 course a La Carte or tasting menu if you prefer. Dishes were beautifully presented with wonderful tastes even for the most discerning of palates. We opted for langoustines, sole, bream, artichokes and lamb, followed by deliciously light mousse with lemon grass ice cream. Coffee and petit fours by the log fire brought the curtain down on the theatrical experience. Breakfast was equally sumptuous and unhurried. Service was well paced. We did not have time to sample the hotel’s unique array of excursions but this gives us a good excuse to return. Thanks to everyone at Glenapp who made our stay so special.

Stunning venue; incredible service; food to die for—absolutely no negatives from us regarding this hotel. We came here for my birthday- it was a delayed 50th because of the pandemic so a special birthday- and it was just fabulous. We pressed the intercom at the end of the drive, were buzzed in and drove the mile up the driveway- where we were greeted in the car park by the manager and taken to our room. It was beautiful- and absolutely enormous with the most comfortable bed. The bathroom was equally large and luxurious. We had the three course menu the first night and the seven course tasting menu on the second night. Both were amazing. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room- because they bring you complimentary tea and coffee on a tray by request- it’s so much better than trying to make it in your room. Breakfast is cooked to order—and a delight. My husband had ordered flowers and handmade chocolates for our room because it was my birthday- again, absolutely beautiful. All in all - it was a faultless stay.

Visited Glenapp Castle on 05/01/2024. Having rented a house in Turnberry for New Year we decided to visit Glenapp Castle as I have been asking my husband to take me there for a while to stay. So we popped the dog in the car and took my teenage daughter also for a visit. The grounds are stunning and the castle itself was very impressive from the outside. We took a walk around and then my daughter and myself went to go inside to take a look around inside. I went inside and explained that I wanted to look around and possibly use the facilities with a view to potentially staying in the future. To which I was told “We are closed”! That was it. No explanation as to why. No, “we are closed for refurbishment”, or “we are closed because we have a private function” or really any explanation. This being my first impression of the inside, it’s safe to say I was not impressed. Nothing on the website saying they were not open. I’m just confused as to why a 5 star luxury hotel was closed but no information as to why online or even in person or really an explanation as to why I could not come inside. Disappointing ….

My family's stay at Glenapp Castle for Hogmanay 2023/2024 was truly amazing! New Year’s Eve morning offered a delightful curling experience guided by experienced coaches, resulting in mass fun and laughter. The New Year's Eve dinner was a delectable 7-course meal, with every dish surpassing expectations. The New Year's celebration was memorable, featuring a spectacular Ceilidh dance and a bagpiper welcoming the new year. On New Year's Day, you could choose between falconry or archery, my family chose falconry which got us to handle an incredible range of birds. Overall, our Hogmanay experience at Glenapp Castle was one that will be remembered and cherished forever.

I treated my partner for a long weekend at Glenapp Castle for his fiftieth birthday and what a wonderful time we had. As you pull into the sweeping driveway the castle takes your breath away and you are immediately greeted by the most welcoming staff and instantly made to feel at home. Our room was beyond gorgeous, the food was incredible and the service was out of this world - you were made to feel like you were part of the Glenapp family. It is a magical place enhanced by wonderful staff and we will definitely be returning.

My wife and I enjoyed two nights at Glenapp Castle and were delighted with every minute of it. From the food to the room to the building and grounds, it was all outstanding. We had an opportunity to meet the owner and all of the staff were delightful, professional, and went out of their way to accommodate our needs despite some inclement weather impacting our planned excursion. There's nothing wrong with a 'day in' at the castle! Special thanks to our massage therapist Rachel who was absolutely delightful, talented and amazing.

My husband and I had our wedding at Glenapp Castle in early December. The whole wedding day and, in fact, the whole experience was absolutely phenomenal. Staff there are super friendly and attentive, and excel at customer service. Our room was beyond gorgeous and food was simply delicious. Our guests said that this was the best wedding they had ever attended! We loved every single minute at Glenapp and will most definitely be back there to celebrate our anniversaries.

Where do I start….fine dining at its best set a beautiful castle location in South Ayrshire. Featured a couple of times recently on TV one of them being a “Gordon Ramsey Cooking Show”. We go a couple of times a year as a special treat. Amazing food cooked with love, super friendly staff and views of Ailsa Craig…what more could you ask for…?

We eloped to Glenapp for our wedding on 1st December, one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From the moment we arrived at the entrance to the sweeping drive, we felt like one of the Glenapp family. Everyone made us feel so welcome and special in this spectacular place. Reality is suspended when you enter the castle, the surroundings, the service, the amazing food and the attention to detail have a magical quality which we’ve never experienced anywhere else. We can’t find the words to do it justice, Glenapp is a wonderful place which will always have a special place in our hearts.
